Opened in 2010, Oitavos is a 5-star luxury resort, embedded in the Portuguese national park Sintra-Cascais and situated on the Atlantic coast. The clear and modern architecture might seem almost futuristic, using primarily glass and blue colours, while numerous sculptures and works by contemporary Portuguese painters set highlights. The 142 rooms, including 14 deluxe suites, one premium and one superior suite, all offer balconies, which allow for spectacular views on either the ocean or the golf course. The three restaurants, "Atlantico Pool Bar”, "Les Herbes” and especially the gourmet restaurant "The Ipsylon” stand for culinary diversity. The hotel also offers a spa area where a holistic wellness philosophy and natural cosmetics are applied. The spa area also includes heated indoor and outdoor saltwater pools. Large open room. Good balcony view. Need to either rent car or get UBER into town. 6km from centre.
Hotel staff excellent, always had clubs ready on buggy before round. Large selection for breakfast. Expensive drinks at bar (€7 for a pint) €25 per day to use pool which I’ve never heard of in a hotel. Course was in good condition with good practice facilities. Very walkable course. €8 pull trolly €25 electric and €60 for buggy

The golf course was under maintenance. The greens were horribly sanded and unplayable - whites not greens. There was a green fee reduction; however, not for guest who had bought a golf package. (Under ideal conditions this is certainly a great golf course.)
We've rented a buggy (cart). The price was €58.50. But the expensive cart was not even charged. At hole 8 we had to call the golf course team and ask for another buggy (provided by the hotel), which arrived within 20 minutes. Although the charge control was flashing and the buggy was only going very slow, the staff told us the buggy is o.k., it is only a slower one.
We had dinner in the restaurant. The food was excellent. However, after the main course the service suddenly stopped. We neither got the dessert menu card nor the beverages which we've ordered. The restaurant staff told us several time that they are sorry, but nothing happened.
The other day we read the reviews from other guest on the internet. We found about 25 comments from guest who reported about similar experiences.
Breakfast buffet was outstanding.

How do I book my trip online?
After you have received an offer, which you like, please click on the orange button "Book now". Then fill out the short questionnaire (regarding information about travellers and tee times) and send the form. After receiving your booking, we will verify the availability of the hotel. Once your stay is confirmed by the hotel (usually within one working day), you will receive our confirmation email together with an invoice for the amount due. The invoice can be paid online by credit card or by standard bank transfer. In case the hotel is not available for the requested booking period, your booking will be cancelled without any charge, and you will be informed immediately.
How can I pay for my trip?
The invoice can be paid online by credit card or by bank transfer. In the our email with your invoice you will find the link to the online payment system as well as the invoice in PDF format with our bank details.
By when do I have to pay for my trip and how much is the deposit?
The deposit is 20 percent and is due immediately. The balance is due four weeks prior departure.
How can I redeem my discount code?
You can enter the discount code from the Albrecht Golf Guide in the booking form. Alternatively, please send us your discount code by email to travel@albrecht.de, after the booking has been confirmed.
Can I cancel or rebook my trip?
Yes, you can cancel at any time. Up to 35 days before departure of your trip cancellation is free of charge for you, unless there are other cancellation conditions listed on your offer and invoice. We have a few hotels that do not offer free cancellation when using an early bird discount. However, more over 90 percent of our partner hotels allow free cancellation up to 35 days before arrival. After that, staggered cancellation fees apply.
