Penha Longa Resort

In the heart of a large parkland area with approx. 544 acres the Penha Longa Resort presents itself like a castle, a successful mixture of tradtional and modern architecture.

The fantastic coastline of Estoril with its beaches and old-established casino as well as Sintra with its famous castles and palaces, are all reachable within a few minutes by car.

This luxurious hotel, managed by the "Ritz-Carlton” hotel group, was refurbished in 2013 and since then offers 194 stylishly appointed rooms with wonderful views from the terraces to the golf course and the mountains. The palacio and the church built in the 16th century, the monastery from the 14th century and the lovely park are perfect locations for special events like weddings or private functions of all kind. The sport- and recreational programme is also found here with tennis and biking (free of charge to explore the property), whereas the healthclub provides indoor pool, swimming pools, sauna, Turkish bath, body treatments, massages, fitness room as well as a hairdresser and beauty parlour.

An unbeatable place however is the 1,500 sqm big Penha Longa Spa, accommodated in a separate former palace building with its own beautifully landscaped garden, offering peace and enjoyment for the senses. For water lovers there is also a whirlpool, a plunge pool, a three metre waterfall and a platform above the pool for Tai Chi and Yoga, complemented by a water cascade and two patios for meditation and treatments with classical massages, facials, Thai massages, aromatherapy and many more.

The same variety can be found in the restaurants where traditional Portuguese cuisine with international influences are served, as well as authentic Japanese cuisine and fresh local products from the grill. After dinner, selected port wines or cocktails can be enjoyed at the "B Lounge”. Two courses await the golfing guest: The 18 hole Penha Longa Atlantico, one of the best 30 golf courses in Europe, with breathtaking views over the Atlantic Ocean and the 9 hole Penha Longa Mosteiro in the middle of the Sintra-Cascais nature preserve - not to be underestimated with its narrow fairways, quick greens and water hazards.
