In terms of golf, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus is still mostly undiscovered, but with its agreeable climate, untouched nature, a 100 000-year-long cultural history and its first 18-hole-course it has already started to attract some 300 golfers.

The Korineum Golf & Country Club was designed by the English architect David Hemstock and the famous designer Peter Harradine and opened in 2007. The 6 232 m long course is situated on a high plateau between the Besparmak Mountains and the Mediterranean and all holes offer spectacular views.

The steep slopes, the rocky terrain and the par 3-holes in particular present an interesting challenge for ambitious golfers. Worth mentioning is also the signature hole, which deserves its name “Vertigo”. The entire course is in optimal condition.

The impressive club house with its large terrace serves drinks and snacks and three restaurants, “The Valley”, “Akdeniz” and the newly opened “Carab Island Restaurant” with its international fusion food, provide sustenance. The Club also offers a sauna, whirlpool and Balinese massages to re-energise tired muscles.

Another asset is the golf academy with 34 tees, three courses (par 3,4 and 5) as well as several training areas.

The residences were opened in 2009 and offer spacious rooms. Recently new rooms and junior suites were added.

Only 15 minutes away, the historical port city Kyrenia offers a multitude of sightseeing possibilities, from the picturesque harbour, to the many restaurants and cafes to Castle Kyrenia. You can also spend a relaxing day on one of the mostly untouched sandy and shingly beaches and with a bit of luck enjoy a swim with one of the local turtles at Algadi Beach.
