The InterContinental Berchtesgaden Resort opened in 2005 close to the Bavarian/Austrian border on Obersalzberg mountain. Germany`s first Mountain Resort is situated 1,000 metres above sea level, in the middle of the picturesque nature of the Bavarian Alps. The breathtaking views over the Salzburg region and on the legendary Mount Watzmann make this place unique. The natural materials used in the interior design combined with modern art reflect the atmosphere of the surrounding mountain landscape. The region offers an extensive range of sports and leisure activities. An attraction for golfers is the 9-hole golf course situated near the resort. It is the highest golf course in Germany with nearly 1,000 metres above sea level and offers breathtaking panoramic views on the surrounding mountain scenery. Resort guests receive a 30% discount on the green fee. Reservation of tee-times is not required. Golf cart, golf clubs and other equipment can be borrowed.
