Fantastic golf course with a value for money!

I played at this golf course a few weeks ago right after the second covid-19 shutdown and I was very impressed with everything.

The quality of the course is phenomenal. The value is great. The service was spectacular. I have nothing but glowing remarks for this course.

Perfectly executed in a cadence with its surrounding.

By the way, my son attended a junior golf camp for kids and the coach was pretty darn good and really catered to the kids.

Excellent

I played almost 300 fields. I've seen a bit already. Zala Golf is a fantastic place. The field was perfectly prepared. Interestingly located and wonderfully laid out. We also spent 3 days in apartments by the field. Very high standard of service. Excellent cuisine in the club restaurant. We will be back for sure

Challenging and wonderful course, very friendly people: 5 Stars ***

We played 5 days during 2 weeks on this course. And during all days our impression remained the same as on the first day: wonderful and challenging course, nice set up, middle fast greens, well supported fairways, very friendly people and last but by far not least excellent food. We highly recommend Zala Springs!

Not spectacular.

For the years I was so looking forward to come to this course. I heard only superlatives, so I expected something great. True is reality is a bit different. They are selling dream there. Arriving there you see a lot of investment there. All is very modern and nice, nice accommodation. Huge parking lot and big training facility. Should I comment surrounding, no nothing spectacular. Nothing to see. Now to the game, we were asked to start from back tee since there were some course maintenance. Course design is quite boring, I do not remember many holes, fairways were nice and wide, what was horrible were tee boxes. I understand they were sanded but the way they did it was horrible. Also what I did not like was maintenance person following us to every green to cut just when we played. We finished back and wanted to start play front and than we were told that we cannot. It took some discussion, explaining and they said its open but we lost about 20 minutes and frustration was build. Anyway front nine is nicer than back. Orientation on course is a bit difficult you do not see signs next tee nothing, so and when you asked for birdie card, its not available, why, it does not cost much. The best here was helpful lady at reception. So for me it was a bit disappointment compare courses like Pannonia in Hungary, this is one is worst than others.

There has to be a better way

Seven nights of golf every day were really fun. Fair course with pitfalls in wonderful condition. Many a lawn mower can cut a deal here. bunker edges; Always keep the perimeter and the front green a little higher so that the balls remain playable and do not roll away unhindered. Club catering clearly has room for improvement,.,.,. Breakfast more than economical,... Club sandwich excellent.,,. But that was it,...,., I prefer to have dinner with the boys at the roundabout from our own hunt :-) Very spacious room, huge terrace, everything was very clean!!

Great resort

Great golf course - quick and easy to get to from Austria. Platz is very sporty and can really show his teeth. I find the courses very interesting and varied and 2-3 laps in a row are a lot of fun. I think the apartments are very good - the food, both breakfast and dinner, takes some getting used to. That's not why it's bad - but we didn't really feel comfortable - as the service was rather sluggish and slow...
Since the game of golf is the main focus, we will keep coming back and simply adapt to the conditions in the restaurant - there is also a club sandwich...

Not worth the trip: top golf course - accommodation flop

We became aware of ZalaSprings due to the various reports in some golf magazines and stayed on site for five days. We had booked a studio and actually intended to play 4 rounds of golf.
When evaluating, you have to make a clear distinction between the golf course itself, the gastronomy and the accommodation in the studios.
About the golf course: Course is in good condition with good training facilities. Since it is on a level, you have no view of the distance, but you can see the very green surroundings. It's nothing special compared to many other inland golf courses.
After two rounds we didn't feel like playing a third or even a fourth round.
In return, we drove to the Balaton Golf Club. A really very down to earth and very very interesting golf course. Not so exclusive, but much nicer! Demanding and individual fairways there!
But now to the resort itself and the gastronomy.
The first surprise was when we checked in at 12:45 p.m. (although the room was free and ready and it really wasn’t full, since it was pre-season) and didn’t want to hand it over to us before 3 p.m. without a surcharge for early check-in…
Not a good start, we thought.
Since golfers are very sociable, we talked to a few there on the first day. The opinions on the quality of the dinner was very clear. So that we didn't feel like eating there in the evening anymore. Then we went out to eat every day.
Then came breakfast. A complete catastrophe! In exchange with other golfers, we were of the opinion that the quality for a house with this claim is completely unacceptable. Much too small buffet and everything was constantly empty. You just had to ask for anything.
The studios themselves are modern - but still very old. Unfortunately, you can see that the maintenance has been very neglected. The shower in the room was black in the corners, the tiles were partially broken, the lamps were very dusty. Simply not very clean overall...
Due to the partly good rating, we were really looking forward to the days here, but were unfortunately very disappointed! Our conclusion: we would not go there again.

Beautiful Place

Excellent place with a recommended hotel. Difficult but not unfair. Big great well-kept greens and really varied tracks. Everything is here (including all training facilities) are well maintained. Water always comes into play.

Service desk booking coach with green fee fraud

Two days before my training I booked 9 holes with a trainer at the service desk and then 9 holes for myself, so that I could play the 18 holes that day. It took the agent 30 minutes to tell me the price. Fortunately, I asked for this in writing. 2 days later he wasn't there and the lady at the desk wanted to charge me a higher price and the 9-holes again. After endless discussions, I paid the agreed price, but was no longer allowed to play the 9 holes. I waived an additional payment and informed the lady that I felt cheated and will definitely not play in Zala Springs anymore. Incidentally, the excellent trainer was also cheated by being paid only part of the time! Total incompetence and incredible business conduct!

2 great days

We were a guest in the resort on July 14th and 15th and also twice at the campsite.
Due to the mixed opinions, we were very excited about what to expect. To put it briefly. This system is top in almost all respects.

First visual impression of the area: A very modern area with a really great club house with reception: great look and very friendly and helpful staff. But in English.

Apartment room: *** exactly as shown in the pictures.
Unfortunately, the bathroom was not entirely worthy of it. The reviews were correct. Lime crusts and light rot in the shower. For the bathroom therefore only ***

The place: *** it does what the designer name promises. Great bunker systems, the whole place 1A condition, very few divots on the fairway, hard + brisk greens, these were very directional to play, but no "glass plates".
The restaurant: *** We had half board on two days for only € 20 extra. For this a 3-course menu. The price is absolutely right. We both found the dishes very tasty and good. We wouldn't want to complain about that.
The variety of menus was very, very limited on both days. Maybe enough for a clubhouse. But it works better elsewhere. Inadequate for a restaurant in a *** facility.

Conclusion: We will definitely recommend this resort to our friends and would be happy to visit it again ourselves.

Zalasprings an experience

As a small / fine golf travel organizer, I have played in recent years on the world's most beautiful golf courses.
The Zalasprings Resort is certainly one of the most interesting resorts in Central Europe. My longtime flight and I were more than enthusiastic about the whole system. Everything totally well maintained and an arrival from Austria always worth it!
Very friendly, nice club building and well stocked pro shop.
My tip for accommodation: live in the adjacent (adjacent to the fairways) Baroque castle of the princes Batthiany. Overnight / breakfast from € 25,00 pp and dinner buffet € 10,00 - we are not priced better.
In the spring we are back there for the next rounds ... ...

Quite okay!

Since this is the golf course, I will keep myself here rather short with my criticism.
I will be more detailed on tripadvisor, as far as the surrounding is concerned.
The golf course itself is nice and well maintained. Great and easy to play, unless you are constantly in the bunker. Lots of water and bunkers in general. Driving range sandy okay. What was very disturbing - that there were a lot of young people who apparently just wanted to do a Gaude on the Range - with shredded jeans (not suitable on a golf course), hit 5 balls at the same time and complained until they dropped out. That just can not be done on a driving range. As far as the clothes are concerned, it does not appear to be so accurate - which I think does not fit on a golf course. Staff up to 3 people, felt 20, all a disaster - as mentioned earlier on tripadvisor... therefore and only because of this fact (staff) our conclusion - we were there once and it was okay - but not again necessarily play there.

Perfect

In high heat played without wind. The place in perfect condition. Despite drought no brown spot on the fairway, tees, fairway's u. Green super could not be better. Nevertheless, I have 2 minus points, 1. the signs to the next tee is poor to not at all.
2. at the ball washers no towels.
The course is rather easy without any pitfalls is only very long. For me, this place is one of the best in Europe. It was a perfect beautiful round.

Great Place

Designed by American golf course guru Robert Trent Jones jr, the course is certainly one of the best places in Hungary. Great clubhouse, nice staff and a beautiful, interesting place.
Difficult to play in today's strong wind, with beautiful fairways that challenge you a lot.
For me it is unclear why the place was rated rather "easy".

For me, the 5, a par 3 over the water and the final hole, a par 5 were the most beautiful fairways.

Greens tall and undulating, tricky and fast.
Bunker many and also filled with beautiful, soft sand, which unfortunately was no longer the case with the last holes.
Water comes into play again and again, especially in strong winds.

Congratulations to this place

Dismantled in two years

We were here for two days after two years.
Hotel and restaurant incl. Service top. In my opinion, food could be more authentically Hungarian.
After our game has improved in the last two years and in the meantime we have also met many great places, I have to take back my rating from back then.
The greens after aeration with coarse sand rather catastrophic..
The wavy fairways with the slopes to the outside Raff rather unfair. The care condition as a whole has also diminished. Pity!
I do not know at the moment if I want to come back.

Objectivity would be in demand

So here is my short summary of the golf club Zala Springs.
After hearing a lot about this facility, I also visited this golf club.
Total plant:
4 stars

Clubhouse:
5 star polite club staff.

and now to the place:

Practice facilities:
5 stars - Range a bit far away but ok.

The space:
Tea boxes: 5 stars

Fairways: 4/5 stars

Greens: 4/5 stars

Layout: 3 stars.

For a place that was somehow built into a steppe landscape. Nice facility but somehow not appealing and sexy.
All around this place seems to me to be "unkempt", I do not feel well when I play there. Actually, the feeling always accompanied me, how long will it take?

I mean it is a beautiful facility but in TOTAL overvalued.

I can not say anything about the accommodations.

Tournament week at Lake Balaton

A spectacular golf course with lots of bunkers. Maintained top. A Leading Golf course as you wish. The clubhouse also lives up to its promise. Friendly staff and good food. My conclusion: we'll be back for sure.

Super great

As part of our regular golf table excursion this year we had a look to Zala Springs and I have to say in advance, spä spectacular!
What has been built here is pleased every golfer's heart, especially longhiter. Here is also required in addition to strength, condition and tactics to master this place.

Clubhouse: accommodating, friendly

Gastro: delicious

Driving range: as some club would want such a quality as a fairway as here the range is maintained.

The place: sensational

But 4 stars only, because bad signposted and advertised, bunkers were in progress speak with foil designed.

So air up!

But we will be back, I promise!

Great new golf course near Heviz and Lake Balaton

The first impression on arrival is pompous and very American. A water fountain in front of the huge and modern clubhouse and its own resort with houses behind it make a good thing. Despite previous reservation, there was only after persistent Urgenz a golf cart and instead of on tea 1 we had to knock off for a tournament on Tee 10, the way there was long. The 18-hole course has many very nice and varied courses, greens and bunkers are in very good condition, the paths between the holes are partly nevertheless quite long. Overall a very nice golfing experience in a wonderful place, for which a lot of money was taken into the hand (on the part of the EU or Russian oligarchs?)

Like a PGA Course

The golf course reminds strongly of a PGA Golf Course. The layout, especially the first 9 holes are great. Plenty of water, but gorgeous! The second 9 are also nice, but fall off compared to the first rather. It was very hot on the 29.7.17, so it was rather quiet. The fairways and greens were in top condition. Hopefully it remains so!

Storm game

Very well-kept place. Fantastic fairways and fast greens. The staff is very nice and helpful. We played the course on 28.06.2017 in early sunny and hot weather. Unfortunately, there is hardly any shade on the pitch and you are exposed to the sun without protection. At such temperatures it is advisable to rent a cart. The paths between the railways are partly very far. Overall, a place for which it is worthwhile to drive another route. The next visit is firmly planned.

A must

Was the place on 1.9.16 play. Absolutely quiet, very fair, slightly undulating fairways, easy to view landing zones with large bunkers.
Fast greens and water was also not spared.
Very modern Clubaus overlooking a small lake. As well as the driving range and the 1st tee are in driving distance to the clubhouse. Rarely played such a course in which all areas are really excellent. I have already played more than 600 places and think I can make a neutral assessment. (My score was the place justice.!) So who's nearby and the Course does not play, missed what.

Sensational golf course

We have at 9.7. 2016 beautiful round on this new collection designed golf course played. After a few golfers on the course were for a Saturday afternoon, we were able to get to know this beautiful landscaped place in a relaxed Atmoshäre. Excellent maintained fairways and greens. There is nothing to complain about, only one could get rid of this unsavory Schlick some water hazards. Connecting routes 1A and everything signposted well.
Cart is perhaps advisable.

Secretarial and service personnel in the clubhouse was very friendly and accommodating.
This place is always worth taking the journey up.
We were certainly not the last time here.
