Sunday morning stroll on the Poniente Course

Played the Poniente Course on a sunny Sunday in early March. Play was smooth and we completed the round in 3h 15min. Poniente is the shorter par 62 course with mostly par 3 holes. All par 4 holes are reachable from the tee for the more experienced player. The terrain is very hilly. Therefore, a cart is a must.

Even though the course is short, not an ideal course for a beginner because of the challenging tee shots. On some holes the first shot must carry atleast 100 m.

+ Nice views
+ Fast greens
+ Fairways in great shape
+ Interesting layout

- Ground under repair around the greens on many holes
- Unfixed pitchmarks on greens
- Rather short
- No back tees set up (suitable tee boxes do exist)

Both Courses

Played both courses in October.
The short course is good fun to play with interesting short holes, but the Championship course was very disapointing.
The bunkers have had no work on them for a good while leaving them looking scruffy and unplayable at times. The greens were in very poor condition. A 30 foot putt needed almost a three quarter back swing with the putter.
The facilities at the complex are first rate, but they need to get the Golf courses up to a similar standard to attract people back.

Rental clubs.

Nice course and beutiful settings. Course was in good condition.
We was renting clubs and got clubs that was 15 years old. I also got clubs for a women, no one said anything about that. Villaitana is a 5 star complex but the people who was working at the golfshop was not very profesionell. We asked if they could do anything on the price for the rental clubs, but they just said that they have a new management and could not do anything. They charged 20 euros for the clubs and they did not want to have any better clubs becuse the customers just dont take any care of them.
Sorry Villaitana this is not how to take care of your geusts at the hotel.

Levante Course 4.1.2018

We played the course today.
Start time at noon with 2 other very nice players.
The problem was clear to us on tea 1 immediately. You drag crowd over the place.
Only profit - no more quality.
The place has already suffered from the mass of English golf tourists with bad etiquette. All drive Cart. Owed to the fact of foulness.
Since you can not leave the trails with the cart, the game takes even longer than expected. After 3h 12 min we finally finished 9 holes. Our normal playing time is (2 players) max 3 h - 3 h
15 minutes. After 5h 50 min we were finally at tea 15 and we went for tea 9
decided to finish before sunset: (((
We missed out on hole 16/17 and played the 9 again instead of the 18.

Absolutely not recommended.
Very bad greens. Only pitch marks, as the many short-tempered English players, are unable to mend these.

A pity, since we know the place differently: (((

Golf BAD IMAGE

Due to the old man with a beard who seems to command the countryside, he loses a lot because of his arrogant and unpleasant behavior, a pity that the owners do not take any interest in it.

Very poor management, and personnel greenfees

Levante, a great place with a view of Benidorm

We played the course last week 2 times. The place was in a very good condition. He is playing relatively sophisticated, distributed about 120 bunkers all over the place. The couple 5 holes can be very very long upwind so. It always goes up and down a little, but no big climbs. The bunkers are very well placed in the landing zones of the bunker. The pair 3 holes are also not without. All in all a very interesting and beautiful place. With a trolley one is about 13 Km go. The buggy was not allowed to go straight and you probably had to do with the season. We play the course gladly again

Using the practice

I played in the east and in the west last season and this month back to Benidorm I decided to go to practice golf Villaitana: I had not finished my business practice of the other time I have left 5 bucket of balls to play! and when I approached the office to inform price green fee save for 2 courses, was very badly served by a very unpleasant person!!! and more asked me 10 € for the use of facilities and my practice when I was completely unused card! I said that this way of treating the customer was surely good way never to Villaitana! I replied that there was new management and was thus the way to select customers!
VILLAITANA GOODBYE!!!

LEVANTE GOLF FUN

I could only play nine holes and were fun.
I missed being able to drink water during the tour but I was informed that fail to be accepted because of the political bureaucracy.
The behavior of the staff was excellent and very professional.
I will return for the second round and know the field Poniente.

Poniente

Golf: The smaller of the two native to this golf course golf courses consists exclusively of par 3s and par 4s. Very nicely laid out.

Place Condition: fairways were dry and hard. The bunker sand has also seen better days. The greens were in good condition, however, and quite fast.

Conclusion: A very short 18-hole course for a set of irons will usually suffice. The reductions of the par 3s frequently follow the gullies and ditches, which at least the psychological pressure increased slightly. The par 4s have several bunkers.
Due to the slight ratings and the wave, fast greens, it is still challenging to achieve a good score.

Levant

A spacious beautiful place, with wide fairways and great views of the ugly-beautiful skyline of Benidorm and the sea.
Lightning fast, hard to read greens. Unfortunately too hard with too little bunker sand. But always a great experience and as a hotel guest green fee very favorable incl buggy.

Levant

Golf Course: Located above the town of Benidorm, the tracks are wavy adapted to the terrain. The part not too long holes are provided with very many bunkers. Sometimes water comes into play.

Location status: Maximum average. The bunker sand is very hard, the greens cut up and bumpy.

Conclusion: The course plays well. Again and again, with distant sea view, which is, however, disturbed by the not very handsome skyscraper backdrop of Benidorm.

Skyline Golf

The golf course is located above Benidorm, which repeatedly surface beautiful views of the city and the sea.

The course is challenging and varied. It is positive that hardly "blind" beats are to be completed. The plant is generous, so that the tracks not too much to each other "stick".

Only criticism is the maintenance state; urgently in particular the bunker would need fresh sand. Fairways and greens are for the season - mid-June - but okay.

Poniente par 62

This review refers to the smaller, par 42 'Poniente' 18 hole, which is also located at the resort. We play this every year with enthusiasm. In July-August there are deals with buggy € 25 p. P. Really very good price / performance (Levante: € 30).
The special feature are the par 3 over the canyons, really tricky.
The condition is great this year.

Beautiful, spacious enclosures

Beautiful, typical Niklaus course with many bunkers. Played in April and quite dry, hard fairways. We paid 69 euros for 18 holes. After 9 holes was interrupted due to thunderstorms the game for a long time. Since this was our last day before our trip home, we asked for green fee reduction for 9 holes, which was refused strictly and fairly unfriendly Also, the restaurant has (hopefully) seen better days. Too bad about the beautiful facility.

Worthwhile

We played with 8 people in March 2013 the Levant course. It runs from the top to the impressive clubhouse and overlooks the entire "skyline" of Benidorm, which does not look as bad from this distance. wide fairways are lined with Bermuda rough, which cut down in March and "blond" and so the whole thing was something made for "ball would prove". but woe wenns grown in the summer! Nicklaus Design has done a great job to complain about every hole is unique, great fairways, excellent greens nothing. Incidentally, this is one of the cheapest places we have found in the region, they offer over 15 clock the green fee for 20 - and without 27,50 pp (for 2 people) with buggy on! It's worth the trip!

Always nice again!

I like these places very well! One is a short course, but what präszision needs. Both holes must be played with electric buggies because apart. From 16.00 clock gibts special prices. In the restaurant, the service is very slow-not see the work... at the reception of the golf club, the ladies are very nice. Golf instructor Fabian speaks English, French and Spanish and makes it very good! 10 hours = 300 euros.

Great facility with an extremely difficult greens

We have played the middle of March 2012 Levante Course as hotel guests:
A great course with many Nicklaus typical bunkers for it but was always a way out, and the maintenance condition was good for the season, but had a bit too suffer from the water shortage of the winter 2011/12, but unfortunately clouded the joy of playing were extremely fast and very undulating greens: only briefly tapped balls went over the greens like a pane of glass and could not be brought to hold for some barely visible waves.
This caused by the appearance of dry grasses used roughs and semi-roughs did not bother.
The hotel is by the way a class of its own, even if the staff has at many places still considerable room for improvement.
