First class golf

Make time to play both of these courses. They are quite different, but each has it's own charm and certainly each has it's own challenges. Cima is a great championship style course. Ria is a slightly shorter track but with some cracking holes. For instance the last three holes on Ria are very notable. A great golf club where the quality of service matches the golf. The folk here are lovely. A wonderful experience. Recommended.

Great place

This place Quinta da Ria and Quinta de Cima is the kind of courses you would like to keep to yourself. What lingers here is an impression of happiness, of having discovered something personal, but which you have to chare with others.

Didn't convince us

We played Ria there and were unfortunately disappointed. Apart from the two holes directly on the Atlantic, the 10 was still very interesting to play, the rest unfortunately just goes back and forth. The greens were ok, the fairways could have been better. The place is completely overbooked by groups and getting a tee time is very difficult. The caddy master was also very unfriendly and asked our flight to play faster, even though we were exactly in the given time window. And if you want to play with Golfamore here, you should know that there is an increased green fee.

Great holiday place

We played the Quinta da Ria. Nice place with interesting tracks. The wind from the sea makes the golf course more interesting. Beautiful and very spacious practice facility. Friendly staff and very good standard of care. played in October.

Quinta da Ria

The course impresses with its location on the Atlantic with many beautiful views, but you can have that without golf. First the positive: Greens were excellent and deserved more stars! Layout of the place is also quite good. Unfortunately, the rest was just mediocre. In addition, the place is extremely booked and you have to put up with very long waiting times.

A walking paradise for golfers

We (23 + 17 HCP) have been there several times and are always enthusiastic. Both courses have their own special charm, the dramaturgy of the courses is very well chosen. The Ria course is a dream from the viewpoint and simply offers a beautiful golfing experience. The Cima course is demanding and 101 bunkers, some of which are large, require a precise touch with many greens. There is 7x water in play on both squares. We have always experienced the system in good to very good condition, so there is nothing to complain about. Those who are in the Robinson Club will also be well catered for. Both facilities are within walking distance of the club, if you are able to walk normally you do not need a buggy. If you need a buggy, you can get one without any problems. The surrounding facilities are also worth a visit, and there are other beautiful places in the vicinity. We will definitely come back.

Quinta da Ria: only the back nine an experience.

Actually, I should give Quinta da Ria two ratings: 2.5 stars for the front nine and 4.5 for the back nine.
The first 9 lanes are relatively boring, doglegs are minimal if any, most lanes run parallel to each other the few hundred yards from the clubhouse to the sea and back again. A few trees / palm trees and a few bunkers are the only obstacles.
The back nine, on the other hand, are exciting and varied. Two holes run alongside the sea and offer a few different, nicer views. But above all, the fairways are now crooked, water finally comes into play (quite a lot of it in the form of some strategically well-placed lakes).
This gives an average of 3.5 points. Due to the very good maintenance condition in January 2023 and the nice look of the entire system, the number is rounded up.

Beautiful and varied 36-hole course

Two different courses await the player on this 36-hole course.
While the da Ria course offers spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean and lagoon, the da Cima is more inland and runs through an orange grove. Both courses were in very good condition at the time (12.22-01.23), the greens were fast. The driving range is well maintained and the training opportunities are very good.
Can only recommend 👍

Attractive 36 holes without resort development, 18 holes with sea views

Played on 8/31/2022 Quinta da Ria on 9/2/2022 Quinta da Cima. The 36-hole course is located directly on the N-125 national road, halfway between Faro and the Spanish border. There are some nice views of the sea and the lagoon from the square da Ria as this square is close to the sea. The Hotel Robinson Club Quinta da Ria is located between the two courses next to the clubhouse. At the more northerly Platz da Cima, some tracks are located directly on the N-125, or on a somewhat dusty access road, which you can clearly hear and see, otherwise the facility is in peace and nature. There are always some almond trees on the edge of the fairways and they also come into play when the tee shots are distorted. High rough is rare, but there are some beautifully designed water hazards. In principle, both courses are flat, but there are also a few slightly elevated tees. A cart is not absolutely necessary, since the paths between the tees are usually not far. There are some well-placed bunkers, notably on da Cima, which feature light-colored sand. During our game, however, the sand underneath was extremely hard/wet. Although most of the tracks are relatively straight, it doesn't get boring on either course. The views of the sea from da Ria and the beautiful surroundings make up for it (don't forget your camera). The 18 on da Ria is played along the pool landscape and the sunbathing area of the hotel, where there are enough spectators. The condition of both places was fine. A few brown spots in the fairways. Here and there spots on the greens that were slightly sanded but faithful and mostly only moderately undulated. Game operations on weekday mornings were manageable. We were able to play through on both courts without waiting. I had requested start times in advance by e-mail and received confirmation immediately. You can also view and book the start times online via the homepage, but then you have to pay directly. We currently paid €176 for both places for two players with a cart. The cart has no GPS and no club cleaning box. But there are two small bottles of water with you on the round. The lady in the pro shop was busy friendly, the caddy master/starter very nice. Unfortunately, the restaurant was closed and there is no buggy bar either, so take food with you on the round. The plumbing in the clubhouse/pro shop was new. Unfortunately, all toilets in both places were not yet fully installed. But you always get past the clubhouse on da Ria after tracks 3,6, 7 and 9. For da Cima there is currently only the toilet at the driving range, which is across the street from the clubhouse. Balls can be drawn here using tokens or euro coins. In conclusion, Ria is a nice holiday resort with a sea location that you should play. You can play Da Cima, but you don't necessarily have to play it.

Just about average

After a hot summer, the two courses were probably in a condition appropriate to the season. This can be different (= better) in late autumn or spring. While tees and greens were ok the fairways are really bad. The more interesting course, which is less affected by traffic noise, is the Ria course.
The experiences with the reception are also different: while the ladies working there are friendly and professional, the so-called "golf manager" is completely out of place. In summary, almost three stars and at least a good opportunity to play golf if you are staying in the somewhat outdated Robinson Club.

Nice vacation spots

We played both courses at the end of May 2021. "Quinta da Ria" is the slightly shorter course with narrower fairways and wonderful views of the sea. At the first holes tee-offs and greens meet and this creates a somewhat restless atmosphere. "Quinta de Cima" is called the champions course, is a little longer and has wide fairways on which you cannot lose a ball. The tees and fairways on both courses were well maintained and the greens were in very good condition. Two beautiful vacation spots!

Wonderful views, interesting place

We played the Ria course after 14:00 (twilight - price / performance therefore very good). End of April was in excellent condition, despite obviously already full occupancy since Easter. Is for me one of the most beautiful facilities (nature and space architecture) in the Algarve. After the almost exclusively villa-lined squares in Vilamoura, the scenery was a blessing. You can walk the place very well, because not too hilly and no long ways from green to tea. Staff in the clubhouse was competent and very friendly. It's fun...

Very well

We were in the Easter holidays each 2x 18 holes in the two places.
The condition was excellent. Also off the fairways and the greens super condition.
It was a lot of fun to play there.
We'll be back next year for sure.

Ideal combination

I was already the 5th time on the site. This offers the ideal conditions for an extensive golf holiday, as you have both places directly at the hotel and therefore no long journeys. The variety is also given - on a place along the sea, on the other you can during the game pick the oranges (or read up ...). Both courses in top condition in January. But "a lot going on", then it depends on how the division between the groups and the individual player works - that could be improved.

Place with many bunkers

For the beginning of January, the greens were perfect. The fairways have suffered quite a bit due to the great drought in the last year. The many bunkers were the biggest challenge, very nice sand, some neatly high edges. I Dussel have lain in it too often. Very nice are the many old olives and baobabs. We can recommend the place in any case.

Top

Both places are in sensational condition for high summer 7/17 and do not shy away from any comparison (eg to the Faldo in Amendoeira).
No trace of boredom, the very strong wind from the sea can, however, cloud the joy on some days. The Ria has beautiful views of the Atlantic Ocean, the Cima is more secluded along some orange plantations.
Both places can go well and stay fair.
We will be back!

Space to play...

The Quinta da Ria, the views to the sea are really beautiful, the place itself but rather a good course to let off steam. Hardly danger either side of the web and thus hardly any reason to strategic game. This makes true "times" of fun, but is also somehow not sooo exciting. Course condition was good what Fairway as greens has affected price for my view to well-rated place, but at the top...

Ordinary Resort Courses

We (HCP 0 and 11) have played the courses in October 2016 staying at Robinson Club Quinta da Ria.
The courses have been designed to easily playable pitches. The greens are undulating in tidy condition and little. The ball can be kept well in the game. Especially on the court Quinta de Cima, the fairways are very wide. We enjoyed the facility Quinta da Ria liked better, especially because of the great paths overlooking the sea.
The seats are flat with a short distance and can be easily covered on foot.
In October it was shortly no problem getting tee times or change.
However, a major criticism of the maintenance condition of the fairways. We played on Saturday. Recently it had rained Tuesday. The fairways were mowed but not for a week and therefore no longer be recognized as a fairway. Since we played some surrounding places with perfect, mown fairways, is the answer from the club that they mow again until Monday because of rain, very questionable. However, when those fairways, the same the Rough presents, you have to communicate this, and can not possibly claim the full green fee!
Overall conclusion: The seats are average, no more than that. It's worth a trip to only 15 minutes away Monte Rei. This place is more expensive overall to get there but a lot more for your money.

Well...

Both courses played in mid-September 2015 (Ria 2x). Quinta da Ria and Cima. Tees and greens in perfect condition, as are the bunkers. But the rest! Fairways to about 30% no grass, bare earth Semirought partially or near the irrigation very soft and moist, partially crisscrossed with deep furrows (eg 30 cm next to the aprons end lay the ball unplayable). Signs without far is it to bunkers or water hazards. Both places have a very beautiful old trees. Fairways are wide enough to also pass easily with the Driver to work.
Ria: environment and views on all tracks very nice, nothing disturbs and then of course the sea view.
Cima: environment and views unfortunately also available on unsightly buildings, wasteland with containers floodlight masts.. In addition, you have to cross 2x an agricultural road and it is covered by a cloud of dust (if traffic). Quite disturbing: At 4 lanes disturbing noise by a busy road.
Driving range, chipping and putting greens very generous and well maintained. The clubhouse looks uninviting, has inside and outside more in the nature of a zweitklassikgem beach restaurants.
When we look to the value for money remains the bottom line: There are many, many nicer places in Europe

Seaside course Quinta da Ria

Quinta da Ria / Quinta da Cima are the 2 places, in the middle of the Robinson Club Quinta da Ria is. However, it is not cheaper at booking office in the Gulf of Robinson Club.

Here is the review for the Quinta da Ria:
The Back Nine are the beautiful, the web 10 is about the ancient olive tree, the web 11 then straight down to the sea, the next tracks are then the sea. From the 14 then back to the hotel down.
If I had not played golf during the day, at least I'm gone in the evening, the back nine. Beautiful landscape design.

In the front nine are the 1,2, 6 and 7 very nice, 8 and 9, you can give yourself actually; narrow and only back and forth.

Greenfee before Easter is high season, so just under 100 euros for 18 holes, 30 euros for cart and token for the driving range separately.

Both places are popping before Easter, since here the Highest Season is the golf groups with the respective coaches. With the result that some DR (North AND South!) Is completely reserved for these groups.
Just in time for the school Easter holidays belongs to spook but it is clearly and calmly.

Different and overrated

Contrary to popular belief, we found Quinta da Ria really nice!
Sea lanes and fun gameplay everything perfect!
The highly acclaimed "Champion Course" Quinta de Cima is a joke! Surely there is a better golf course, but I do not have sn the Algarve drive!
A place like ours around the corner, falls in front of the other good places from clear!
Ria 3,5Sterne;
Cima 2,5Sterne;
Together simply ne 3!

Beautiful coast

Did the end of September 14 played the place because of the good reviews. The position on the coast, especially the second nine, wonderful. The fairways were in a rough and unkempt condition - the greens were ok. Intermediate web 10 and 11, the slope supports were in a dilapidated condition and dangerous...
Beautiful coast for a high price: € 171 for Twilight with buggy for two!

2 excellent courses at reasonable price

Quinta da Ria with nice paths with sea views and some challenging fairways, always with many water hazards and bunkers. Varied golf in an attractive golf landscape.

Quinta da Cima is because of its length (about 6200 m) is a constant challenge for a par. Many bunkers and numerous water hazards. Real test for any golfer sporting ambitions.

Both courses are well maintained, the greens perfectly. Cheap green fee package prices from 14.00 clock. 2 players incl Cart = 120 €.
The golf office is friendly and professional. It is also worth the - by the way German language - Caddy Master, who always took care with kind words about the equipment and carts.

Quinta da ria chic...

As part of the East Algarve Trophy here:
Super scenic ocean views... rather flat course maintained... and play nice.
Golf Segways can be found here, which I unfortunately have not rented. The next time ;-) Nice owner, we got to know shortly. Nice service at the Club House.
The adjoining Robinson Club made a good mood music. Thanks Helene F.;-D

Golf holiday with plenty of water, bunkers, wind in a great landscape

We (couple HCP 18 and 31) have played both courses again. Quinta da Ria with tracks by the sea and some narrow fairways, always with plenty of water hazards and bunkers. Quinta da Cima is difficult because of its length; also many bunkers and numerous water hazards. With buggy we have not more than 4 hours per round required.
Both courses are well maintained, the greens perfectly. In the midst of both places is the Robinson Club (excellent Portuguese wine list) with discounted green fees and free trolleys. The golf office is friendly and professional. In the afternoon start times without reservation. In February / March and November are many golf groups with Pro on the way; we avoid this time.
The landscape of olive trees and orange groves and overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and the two courses make a real joy at the holidays Golf. We'll be back.

Holiday Golf

Quinta da Ria and Quinta da Cima are quite similar and applied for the golf tourism. Hard greens, no divots, wide fairways.
Relatively large number of bunkers and the wind make it a HCP still not be easy to play. For the single-handicapper there are better places. Very suitable for beginners.

Golf Pure pleasure with stunning sea views

Both places are different.

Quinta da Ria is located right by the sea with breathtaking views from several holes. Playfully shows the course challenging and varied. Visually brilliant - almonds, dates, plums, vines, carob trees. A perfect golf vacation.

Quinta de Cima contrast presented by the athletic side. Especially fighters will have their joy at this place. Long fairways with many (well maintained) bunkers and waters meander through olive and orange groves. A place which makes fun sports challenge.

Right in the middle of the Robinson Club Quinta da Ria is incidentally - with its own beach bar...

Two places a treat

Quinta da Cima is a parkland course the difficult to play by its length to achieve his personal HCP, wide lanes prevent loss of ball games.

Quinta da Ria is a place which impresses with its views of the sea.

Both courses are very well maintained and recommended without compromise. By the Robinson Club in close proximity here offers a perfect holiday destination.
