Recently, the course has been redesigned on at least six lanes/greens and so the course is unfortunately not yet in the GPS system and the newly designed greens also have a significantly slower speed than the old greens. The course itself is sometimes quite narrow and you have to have safe tees to avoid getting into the lateral area, where you sometimes can't find the ball anymore.
Most greens show strong (and interesting) modulation. Greens themselves are usually not very big, so that you can roll off the green again when playing. Overall definitely worth playing.

There are quite a few really good links places in Ireland. I don't think this one is one of them. That's supposed to be number 3 in Dublin? All around there are a number of better ones, just private. Or the K Club is z. B very nice and much cheaper. Don't hold Parkland left. I can't judge whether the expensive courses like Doonbeg, Ballybunion or Lahinch are worth the money. When I saw the kind of people clumsily throwing their balls left and right into the rough, I felt sorry for the caddies in particular. Royal County down or Portrush are clearly too expensive and snooty. Donegal has some fantastic links courses. Portmarnock is crowded and very mainstream. The condition was terrible 3 years ago. this year it went like this. 220 euros as a hotel guest are clearly far too much. And the hotel is very old and overwhelmed by groups of travelers and party groups. PS Mount Juliet played 2 weeks before the Irish Open. Top condition. For - hold on - 80 euros per person. Stop Parkland too. But that gets you thinking, doesn't it? With over 700 golf courses in Ireland there is plenty to choose from. It doesn't have to be Portmarnock.
