Until yesterday I thought OPEN. 9 is the "short course" of the well-known and directly adjacent golf course Eichenried, which also holds the BMW Open every two years. But OPEN. 9 is completely independent - and a very attractive concept!
From the beginning I was enthusiastic about the layout and design of the course, and when I found out the name of the golf course architect, I understood why: Thomas Himmel! It is also responsible for my absolute favorite place, Son Gual in Mallorca, and for the very beautiful place in Grassau (Achental).
Mat cuts are okay for me, as long as you will be there beforehand and then you have the right teas with you. I was without the first tee... You can't really judge fairways and greens objectively in February, but I think that other courses don't have the quality of OPEN even in midsummer. 9 in February.
You can tell from the system that everything is still quite young (built in 2012). Everything was very modern and well maintained. Good cuisine and a terrace with a view of the last green round off the positive impression.
