Beware of the thief

We played this course February 17th and I appologize to do not comment this in principle very nice and challenging golf course.
I arrived together with three friends at 09:50 a.m. and as usual we dropped all our objects (incl. wallets) not needed while playing into our golf bags. Moving on to the reception two nice young guys (in Golf Club uniform) offered to us to carry the bags down to the buggys while we did the registration. We accepted without thinking.
About 30 min. later we worked down, jumped on the buggys and started playing at 10:50 a.m. The course was quite empty and we did'nt see anybody during the game. Return to the Caddymaster another two young guys offered to clean the clubs what we accepted with pleasure, took our wallets out of the bags and moved on to the restaurant for a drink. By trying to pay the drinks we became shocked. One by one opened his walled and found it empty of banknotes. We inmediately informed the Reception Desk and Manager but they refused to be reponsible and stated this had never happened so far. We ask for the police and gave them to full report. They also asked the Golf Resort Manager but he stated to have full confidence in his staff and they work for long time with them without any problem. The police officer mentioned privately to me he dosn'd trust that this would be true. We did not received any word or appologize from the Golf Resort Manager. He did not even talked to us. We have only lost at least € 1.050 all together. We have tried to find an amicable settlement with the Chairman of the Oceanico Group. Without success. We bought it to the charge and involved Portuguese loyers. But even during the official questioning from the police departement they refused until the end to feel not at all responsible for what has happened even the theft could have been only happened during the time between lets say 10 to 10:30 a.m. when our golf bags were in posession of the club staff. Our resumé?
Strong warning to all visitors. Don't leave any values in your golf bags. There are many other and nice golf course along the Algarve and we would never return to this Resort. Take it as given!

Our Society visited this course for the second time recently. The facilities are fantastic and the golf extremely good given the relatively new history. Great variation of holes and in super condition. Far superior to the Faldo course and well worth a visit. Take advantage of the 'after noon' rates of €65 inclusive of buggy... represents extremely good value!

Played here years ago, much worse you can tell that only cash is made here and nothing is invested. Everything is old and worn out. Except for the very good and fast greens, the care is not particularly good, no distance information, no indication of obstacles, etc. Neglected next to the fairways, too expensive, you don't need to play, there are so many good places here.

After the Faldo Course you can walk the course relaxed. There are no height differences here, but water is involved in almost every track and you should have fun with course management if you want to enjoy the course.
The green fee of 140 € is greatly exaggerated, even if a superfluous buggy is included. For resort guests, it's a nice change from the much heavier Faldo.

Fairways and greens in great condition.
Like on the Faldo Course, I borrowed M6 Taylormade clubs for € 30.

Tea times 8 minutes - very long waiting times in high season

Since this year, the new owners Kronos Homes and Kings Street Captital Management, New York, have reduced the tee time from 10 minutes to 8 minutes.
5 minutes before the current tee time have already waited 2 x 4 balls on the first tee. We needed almost 6 hours for 18 holes as 4s.
The new owners seem to have only interest in selling as many tee times as possible.
The place condition is very good. the staff go out of their way and are very friendly. Unfortunately, the new owners have no idea about golf or golf management.

Have played the moderately difficult to heavy and after a series of rainy days again green place in early November 2018. We played the Patz at the beginning of January 2018. Actually, the place is very nice, the fairways are varied and interesting. If this were the end, then it would certainly be 4+ stars.
Unfortunately, I must add that the place was in very bad shape. The fairways were bone-dry, the grass in places completely withered. The sand bunkers were either rock hard or almost sand-free. Even the greens did not live up to their name. We played a number of other courses in the area before and after, but with the exception of the Faldo course (same resort, same operator), all the other courses were better!
