Great layout

The course impresses with many interesting fairways, some of which are very cleverly laid out - simply a very nice layout.
I really liked holes 6,9 and 16.
The course is very hilly, and in this crazy heat today it was really tiring to cover the course on foot.
Fairways are narrow, fairways play well, greens partly with bare spots and rather slow. Only a few greens are more undulating. Bunkers only have a thin layer of sand and some of them are not very attractive.
Knowledge of the area is required (we don't have it), as there were always hidden ditches/ravines to overcome.
Unfortunately, our positive impression of the stubborn gentleman's place in the secretariat dampened our mood because he completely denied us the urgently needed shower - "for members only"?? …..and this at 30 degrees and high humidity!

We played the course as part of our ship trip in the Indian Ocean. Even though we played with other people's clubs, we had a wonderful day on the pitch. The course has some challenges, but more on that in a moment. The reception at the place was ok, the lady in the office was friendly, but unfortunately she hardly spoke English, only French. Nevertheless, we were able to sort everything out and then go for a relaxed ride.
The way to the first tee is short, there is a small training area and a small range on the way there. Unfortunately we couldn't use it because it was closed due to an event, as was the short game area.
Unfortunately there was no birdie book, so we could only orientate ourselves on the course boards, which of course makes assessments and strategies on the courses difficult. There were already some obstacles, such as ditches and water hazards. There were also one or two blind tee shots and ravines that had to be overcome with the tee shot.
The fairways were in good condition and the greens were undulating, but unfortunately rather slow. Which didn't make putting any easier.
When we hit next to the fairway we had to look for the balls, but they were actually easy to find. So that not many balls were lost.
The place is quite hilly overall, but easily accessible on foot with the trolley. It was very hot and humid on our day, but it was a lot of fun. After the first 9 holes you come directly past the clubhouse and can stock up on new drinks.
In the restaurant you can get delicious drinks after the round and the food looked very good, but we didn't use it.

We played the course twice in September 2018. You can walk the course well, but should bring a certain basic fitness, since on 18 holes to overcome some slopes. In general, experience with mountainous places is an advantage here - you are often at an angle and there are many canyons to overcome (some of which you only know after the second round that they are there). The panorama of the mountains and the sea is unique.
If you get involved, the course is fun and never boring. And lost balls can be replaced cost-effectively on the round.
When we were there, a lot of work was done on the course, so only 4 and not 5 stars, since the greens were only playable with winter rules.
The view from the restaurant is spectacular and definitely worth a drink after the round.
