Overpriced

THE New resort. I havent been there for 2 years many things change many remain same. I seen big investment. Great job on practice area, its very nice and proffesional, very pleasant staff who is also helping lot. This brings the review bit higher. What drops it is East course, not my favorite design, course is nothing special, from design point of view. Quality of the greens is perfect, weekest point are fairways which are hard with many bad spots, probably from weather. Tee boxes are hard as concrete difficult to stick tee in. Intersting holes are number 8,9, 16,17,18, the rest you will forgot right away. Old course is the real gem there. Price of the green fee is a crazy for such a quality, for Old course its OK. Dressing room is great with lot of space, from service angle all good there. Weak point is also restaurant, they are not organized and used to busy business, they have problem with orders. So will consider my returning to her since its quite lot of travel to spend my money there if I can get for my money better quality and feeling.

Good, but the Old Course is a bit boring

After the very nice reception at registration, I played the Old Course at the end of September 2023. He was in excellent condition. The greens are very fast, take some getting used to for me, but actually nice. The Old Course is just a bit boring except for 2 holes. The challenges are missing. That's why and because of the club restaurant only 4 stars. In my opinion, expectations and reality differ somewhat when it comes to club restaurants. I'm happy to pay a little more if the quality and service are good. But I didn't find it here.

Absolutely perfect

After hearing a lot of praise, I played on this course for the first time in mid-September.
I thought for a long time whether there was anything to complain about, but I simply couldn't find anything.
The "Old Cours" is simply an incredibly well-maintained park that always offers great views into the distance. Whether fairways, greens or tees, the facility was in excellent condition.

Can't wait to play the second course on site

Ordinary places

Old Course is nicer, East Course is more difficult, Very nice courses but not 5Stars. Nevertheless, it was a nice and pleasant stay. staff very friendly. A point of criticism that is not included in my rating of the golf course is the dinner. 3 hours (not just on one evening) for a 4-course menu is a no-go. Another restaurant review that has nothing to do with the course rating: a gaspacho that was tasty, but had little to do with a gaspacho, and a boiled beef that was as far removed from a boiled beef as vanilla ice cream was from chocolate or strawberry ice cream.

Unfortunately only almost perfect

Both courses are very well laid out and complement each other perfectly in their differences.
The facility is well maintained.

The employees in the secretariat are friendly and competent.

Restaurant has reduced opening hours, but good menu and good quality.

The practice facilities have generous teeing grounds, range balls are included in the green fee, covered tees and even a fairway bunker are available.

The chipping green is a bit poor in terms of design.

Unfortunately, no value was placed on an appropriate pitching opportunity when planning, this is only available for the golf school and is reserved exclusively for them.
This also applies to the practice bunkers. Kind of weird that you can't use these opportunities as a green fee player and hotel guest.
This lack is in stark contrast to the otherwise well-designed facility and the first-class hotel, so unfortunately only almost perfect.

A perfect golf day

The Old Course is a beautiful course with mature trees. Well-groomed greens and sufficiently wide fairways are fun. A place for all skill levels. Always happy. And after the round, a visit to the Hexenweiher club restaurant is recommended. Insider tip: Parmesan loaf pasta.

Beautiful golf course

I played the old course and I have to say that this course is one of my favorite courses. The holes are surrounded by trees, which requires accurate play. However, if you don't play a ball on the fairway, you can usually find the ball as there is very little high rough. But then you have to play the ball past the many trees. The place is not too crowded, so you always get a tee time.

Conclusion: I can highly recommend the place!

A good investment

We played the two 18L courses in September 2020 when the weather was nice. The fairways are in good condition. The ball is easy to get to with the racket, it is also very smooth. At the DogLegs I would have been happy to have more roll... train, train, train. On Sunday on the Old Course, the flag was placed on L17 in such a way that you could do a 3 putt or 4 putt from 3 meters. The ball did not stop near the flag and moved further and further away from the hole. There are also minus points. It has a lot of and a lot of unrepaired pitch marks, there would be a ranger who doesn't control badly. Then it is not understandable why such a department does not have a birdie book, or rather, one says they don't have any more. How about a contract with StrokeSaver Switzerland, Pfäffikon SZ, then the problem would be solved and the new StrokesSaver birdie books would come out every spring.

Great potential - But a top hotel alone is not enough.

Let's start with the consistently positive: the hotel is first class, there is nothing wrong with that. A dream of a spa area, good to very good food, great bar and very friendly and hard-working staff.

Golf courses:
The Old Course is a beautiful parkland course, but not particularly difficult to play. Most fairways wide, practically no exclusions.

The East Course is a little more difficult to play and has a Links Course character. It doesn't seem to be that popular in general, because here you apparently get a start time without any problems, while the old course is regularly fully booked during the "peak times".

The Academy Course also has its charm. Because it is designed in such a way that it represents a challenge for every handicap. It's a mix: a few lanes of Parkland Course, a few lanes of Links Course.

The courses were in very good condition, except for the greens. Unfortunately, the greens from the Old Course were littered with unrepaired pitch marks, which is quite annoying. They should also be a bit faster - but everyone probably sees it a little differently.
The training area is very nice. Huge in size and offers all possibilities for training, as well as unlimited free range balls.

What we didn't like was the season. We played on a weekend and we needed 5 hours 50 for an 18 hole round (tee time 11:30 am). We were constantly running up. The Marshall was seen from time to time, but nothing happened except that he chatted nicely with the people. We also asked him about the many pitch brands, but he said that he couldn't do much about it. We had the feeling that they didn't want to criticize us hotel guests - the wrong way for me. We also missed water dispensers on the round, especially on the East Course. In warm temperatures, with almost no shade, that's a huge shortcoming - and you can't even get past the clubhouse.
The food in the Hexenweiher was very good, but the service for a resort in this price range was below average, because it was simply overwhelmed due to the number of visitors. This should not be the case with this price structure.
In the pro shop we were ignored and preferred to deal with the Swiss guests, who are being rolled out in all areas and who, unfortunately, sometimes behave accordingly.

Conclusion: it is a resort with great potential. In the hotel you are already at a top level, but in the golf area there are unfortunately still many corners and ends. When we travel to Germany to play golf, we personally prefer the Sonnenalp resort in the Allgäu... everything just fits together and every guest is immediately welcome.

Resort golf...

... a really nice and good resort.

We have played here several times - and also stayed - for the first time in 1998 it was still a 27-hole course. It is a good resort with two 18-hole courses, but not 5 star golf courses for us. We have been here for the first time since the redesign a few years ago.

The old course is a great parkland course - not that difficult to play. You can let the driver work, enough space, hardly any obstacles, often a small piece of wood is enough. Few greens have good defenses. In good conditions - dry - it plays almost loosely, the holes are almost 350 meters long on average.

The East Course feels quite monotonous without trees, the opposite of the Old Course. Hitting the ball is easy, the holes are on average significantly less than 350 meters long. There is a lot missing for a links course, so the term links character is a bit far-fetched.

Both courses have a decent layout, with some good - but also rather weak - holes. They are real resort golf courses that we find again and again.

What is very good here is the Practic-Aerea, which leaves nothing to be desired.

Well-maintained facility with professional staff.

There is always a lot going on in the squares and in the clubhouse, you need a little more time for one or the other.

The hotel and the gastronomy meet the standard, they belong to the association "World of Leading Golf".

Not all were for four stars, a scarce multiple.

Old Course: Wide, simple pleasure

Visually, the place was perfect in the shot. For tea boxes and fairways that was also from a playful point of view. The greens, however, were a bit bumpy, so the ball made sudden changes in direction on his way.

The design of the holes is a bit simple. If you like draufhaut and left and right needs a lot of space, comes here at his expense. The risk of losing a ball is quite small.

The staff is professionally friendly, the included range balls are great, and the grounds themselves are in very good condition.

The restaurant was a bit hectic despite a large number of employees. Our service (s) were very friendly and forgetful... Finally we got (with some initiative) but everything. The quality of the pizza and the two fish dishes (branzino and salmon) was ok, if a bit uninspired.

Old & East - a great team

OLD COURSE A classic parkland course. Most open, wide fairways - so driving really fun. The fairway shots can be pushed forward without any major problems, and the Approaches to the moderately guarded greens are not overly fierce. The good quality putting surfaces are not too complicated. In short, a place that forgives much and allows a good score. Relaxing holiday golf.

EAST COURSE On many points a links course, although unfortunately the left typical, playable rough is too rare and dominated by the regionally typical, "classic rough". Too bad, more consistency would be desirable here! The fairways are much more diverse than the Old Course, some demanding and felt much narrower than the neighbors. For the Approach it often takes a precise shot, several times over water. This place forgives much less, it must also be calculated times with a moderate score. Conclusion: A great addition to the Old Course.

Great hospitality

We were on 17./18.6.2019 on the area. On the 1st day the East played. Unfortunately, extensive and loud care measures were in progress on this day. But this is the only negative point to notice. The 2nd day on the Old was an absolute treat. It has the hospitality and the service. These points are almost impossible to beat.

Nice facility, but...

... the current state unfortunately prevents further stars. We had played the Old and East course. For both applies: not inadequate greenkeeping but mother nature is to blame. The dry summer / fall of 2018 has left its mark, which is still visible and noticeable, and the greens have caught a mushroom in winter. Together with the Green extension of 2017 (still recognizable), there is no 5-point image and game. But when the seats have recovered, the old-course in particular is a great pleasure. A very generous, varied Parkland course (I think I had never seen out of bounds markings ...). The resort has become a real gem after the expansion (a must for spa lovers). But there too, everything around you has to grow. By the spring of 2020 at the latest, the whole system will probably (again) show its best side. We will be back.

Pure disappointment

We played the Old Course on 8/7/18,8 players. The place was in an absolutely unworthy condition, from the tees, over the fairways to the greens. The tees and the greens were not mowed, all fairways were through structurally-related furrows and ditches, without grass, criss-crossed and all for a green fee of 90 euros per person. Our complaint in the secretariat was dismissed with the comment, we pass it on.

East Course Par 72 - what's this?

In the most beautiful golf weather we played the East Course on 08.05.2018 and were really disappointed at the end. On this site, the architect would have been better advised to build a Par 68 golf course - that would certainly make more fun! Well, we did not like it at all - we are happy to wait for the opening of the Old Course and we will contact you again.

Snapshot East Course

I played the East Course on April 19,2018. Due to the long winter, the greens are still affected and have some stains. The whole course is still a bit bare, but many trees and shrubs were set - was opened only last year. In addition, of course, the links characteristic. Fairways and greens were very hard.
At the moment there is still some construction noise in the area of the hotel (extension) and there is only a provisional driving range available. But that should be over in a few weeks. Therefore only 3 stars (snapshot).
All in all a nice course with potential upwards.
Personally I like the Old Cours better - parkland with old trees.
Anyway, I'll be back.

Very nice places

We have already several times there the Old Course play and also twice the brand new East Course.
The East Course is still not quite as impressive compared to the Old Course, but it will be. The greens still need their time to be really good.
The Old Course is currently being rebuilt and will be ready by 2018 at the latest. We are looking forward to it. Also this year the E Course will be completed so that you can play 45 holes from next year.
Although the green fee is not the cheapest, so you always have a very well maintained facility.

Professionally run facility without major sporting incentives

Currently, only the A / B loop are playable, as the plant will be further expanded. Here the term applies to golf resort: We invested a lot and it will continue. The course is part of a hotel and conference complex.

It is I in the current 18-hole to a spacious parkland area with very wide fairways and rather easy to gambling Rough. The space around the tracks around is very spacious. There were many Greenkeeper at work and it shows. the condition was very good. The greens are loyal but very slowly and waved to little. In short, this is a place of even "worse" golfers is fun, because you will lose fewer balls and a lot of achievement has. Only when you're playing the square of the black tea, the challenge has the length of about 6400 m.

The service is friendly and professional. Generally I lack some of the charm of small systems, because it was very busy and at short intervals, the group was left on the square. Ideal for a holiday round, in the long run it would be my sport not demanding enough.

Wonderful!

Owner of the golf course, the ALDI brothers should be, you can feel it in mind that nothing is missing. The course is very flat, spacious and in great condition. There is little bounds areas and it can be relatively easy to play. The greens were ok for April. The service is the best in the tournament, there was food and attentive Marshall, as well as a proper ceremony in a very good restaurant. The pro shop and locker are also very generous and exclusive. All at a price of 65 tournament. Euro. Then you should have played once.
