The relatively short course from yellow impresses with relatively narrow fairways and a tricky layout. Knowledge of space is required.
Impeccable course maintenance, tee boxes relatively well maintained, great fairways, bunkers are easy to play.
I liked hole 3.14 and also the final hole, although the other fairways are also very varied.
The greens were a small negative point, as you noticed different green speeds and some greens were still quite uneven - no directional stability!

A great place. Very varied tracks with a great mountain panorama. The brook babbled, the soft tolling of goat bells in the distance. I've been dreaming of golfing in the mountains for years - I did it today! Lanes 17 and 18 in particular are terrific.
I walked the place (with trolley), it was exhausting, but still really doable. After all, we are in the mountains. I cannot understand the long distances between the tracks that have been criticized in other reviews.
As a guest player, I felt very welcome. Already when registering, but also in the restaurant after the round. :-)
We'll be back in the area next fall and I'm already looking forward to a round here! A clear golf recommendation!

And, of course, we are discussing their very negative criticism, which was partly justified on this day, but in a more constructive form it would surely bring much more for all stakeholders and interested parties.
Our greens have been affected in some places by the extreme weather conditions of recent weeks. In this case, our very committed Greenkeeper team also gets advice and action from external experts. In the present case, these have recommended the immediate easy version of the aerification. Since major tournaments were held (Kaiserturnier, Vereinsmeisterschaften, Austrian championships), double haste was offered and the usual advance notice and information of the players could not be carried out. The work was carried out quickly and quite according to schedule, even though this might have been unsystematic for an outsider. We have - as also previously Severiano Ballesteros and Jose Maria Olazabal - the traditional club Salzkammergut (one of the oldest golf clubs in Austria - founded in 1933) recorded in July 2011 and loved it.
The idyllic place has a very old trees and is a mixture of parkland course and alpine space. Fairways and greens very well maintained. Railways partially tight, hilly and hanging - not easy to play.
Due to the summer heat and yet very hilly terrain with some steep climbs and long distances to the next hole was the place to play twice as hard. But the prospect of some discounts on the surrounding mountain panorama paid for the effort of the ascent.
We lived in the neighboring Pyramids Hotel, which also houses the clubhouse and pro shop including some private flats.
The food at the club restaurant was very good and is highly recommended. Staff very friendly.
A cool-down after your round you can relax in Wolfgangsee not far away (eg beach - beach nature Waßwiese, Strobl) treat. We will come back.
