Can be assessed to a limited extent

Due to heavy storms in spring, the course was only playable on 14 holes. But the impression is: a nice place without ups and downs (also topographically). The beautiful views of the Tauern become boring over time. Friendly welcome and a nice waitress over coffee afterwards.
You can play when you are in the area, but you don't have to take a detour to do so.

Good but not special

There is a hammer hole, namely 13, a par 5 with 558 m (!!!), long and tricky and in front of the green there is also a woodshed.
The 18 with an island green is also nice.
Fairways good with a few bare spots, but otherwise okay, greens well maintained - not too fast - okay too! Otherwise there was a lot of water involved with some trenches crossing and hidden.
A good place that you should / can play, but because of the level, this place has no "dramaturgy".
The restaurant was friendly, but the menu was nothing special.

Absolute insider tip!

Nice flat 18 hole course with wide fairways. Top condition, very nice reception.

Great green fee campaign days, for example you pay only 47 per person on Sunday!

Uncomplicated when booking tee times, also possible spontaneously - the very friendly lady at the reception quickly checked in and after less than 10 minutes we were on the tee - without stress, everything was super relaxed.

The golf course is wonderfully embedded in nature and offers exciting challenges because water comes into play again and again.

The view of the surrounding mountains is sensational, the place very quiet (no car noise or the like).

Our highlight was lane 18 - a par 3 island green right in front of the clubhouse.

We felt very comfortable in this place and enjoyed the great atmosphere. Unfortunately we didn't have time to test the gastronomy.

Wonderful round of golf in the middle of the national park

We are now coming to Mittersill again.
There are really nice golf courses nearby, so you can play different courses during your vacation.
Our absolute favorite place is Mittersill - we play at least twice every year during our stay here, as we did last week.

The course condition is excellent - both the fairways and the greens. Even if there has been some rain before, the course can be played well. We particularly like the stream that runs almost the whole round - due to the many water hazards, a ball fishing is an advantage :)

In the secretariat we are always given a very friendly welcome - here we always make an effort and do not feel like "any customer" but as a welcome guest! That is one of the reasons why we love to come back!

The restaurant has a great terrace with a view of the 9er green. The service is also ok, we cannot rate food as we usually only have a drink at the end.

All in all we can recommend the place 100% to everyone. And we'll be back next year!

Golf course good, support poor

I played the golf course in Mittersill in June 2020 and would like to pass on my assessment.

First of all about the course itself:

This plays the entire round completely including a fantastic view of the surrounding mountains. I would rather describe the layout as simple, the landing zones are very wide. The course is still interesting because water hazards have always been integrated. The condition was very good (despite a lot of rain in the previous days), a few bald spots on the fairways did not spoil the fun, the tees and greens were in very good condition at all times.

Therefore, nothing stands in the way of a leisurely vacation in beautiful surroundings...

... if there weren't 2 things in the clubhouse that really bothered me.
Firstly, we were welcomed by a very badly dressed lady in the secretariat who answered my question about a birdie book in a very harsh tone that there is no such one here. I've never been greeted so unfriendly in a golf club.

Secondly, we wanted to eat something after the round in the cozy clubhouse, but apparently a bigger tournament was going on after us. The staff seemed overwhelmed and made us understand that because of the tournament they actually had no time for us and that eating was practically impossible.

Because of this, our visit to the club leaves a somewhat bland aftertaste.

In summary: We like to come back because of the golf course, but rather not because of the surroundings.

Interesting facility - all around could be improved

We played the course on 13.6.2020 when the weather was nice:

The training facility is very well maintained and clear.

The place showed itself from a good side despite a lot of rain before. The fairways were mostly very good (neither hard nor wet, bald patches or moss, etc.), I also liked the greens (true to track, decent pace, but relatively hard). The bunkers stood out - beautiful sand, not too deep, fair.

Overall, the terrain is relatively flat.

Course layout:
interesting, varied, streams are integrated again and again, sometimes a tree on the fairway or a hut, the driver can usually be pulled from the tee, many wide tracks that forgive mistakes; the greens are relatively little defended

I would rate the place itself with 4 stars. But I also include the all around:
I have never been greeted so unfriendly in a secretariat.
I have never been denied food in a club restaurant (reason: a tournament is taking place). And I also rarely had to wait 20 minutes for the service, even though several people from the staff passed by us several times.
Too bad because the clubhouse looks nice in itself - was probably bad form of the day.

In total, only 3 stars possible - because that was a difference compared to 4-star courses.

Flat place in beautiful surroundings

In the beautiful Salzachtal, surrounded by many more than 2,000 m high mountains, is the golf course Mittersill.

The clubhouse with the reception and the store is getting old and not modern. I did not like the artificial flowers everywhere. It was clean and tidy.

The front desk was friendly and after paying the € 45 for 9 holes I was allowed to late in the afternoon alone on the round. As a guest in certain hotels in the area you get green fee discount (unfortunately not on the page with the price information), there are also almost every day special promotions, such. Eg Ladies Day on Thursday. You are allowed to play here without a minimum handicap, I think that's great.

It is usually quiet, sometimes you hear the car from the main roads.

The course is flat and offers some obstacles with bunkers, streams and lakes. Dogs are welcome.

The condition of the course was okay, but I have never seen so many divots lying around like this. The greens were very rough.

Seating is on the way from time to time, as well as a toilet. The "Next tee" pictures could sometimes be better, eg. For example, at hole 4 to 5. Super are the threat videos on the website.

Great course

After Mittersill we like to come, it's just always relaxed. 77 Euro for a day green fee is great for frequent players, on the birthday you play for free, which I also find a nice touch. The course was in very good condition with us, the greens were the best we have played this week.
The practice area and the terrace I like well, we will definitely come back.

Relaxed Round

Compared with the other mountain goats courses in the area (eg GC Eichenheim) guarantees this place a very pleasant and relaxing round. All 18 tracks are flat and can be run very well. During our visit in June 2015, presented to the court in very good condition, well mown and manicured fairways and very fast greens. The greens in the GC Mittersill are very interesting and tricky, you just have to read very carefully, otherwise it gets a Dreiputt! The first 9 are a bit more varied than the second element 9. Pretty in the square are the numerous barns that ever can also be unfavorable "in the way". The 9 and 18 are very beautiful island greens. The fairways are almost all very broad and quite tolerate minor errors. Hairy's only on the 15, a 550 m long par 5! The place is fun and guarantees an untroubled round of golf. The green fee is, however, slightly coated.

Beautiful golf course

We were on Pentecost in Mittersill Castle and of course also the situated very close to the golf course played. Finding him is a bit difficult, despite Navi (badly signposted). The flat course was in very good condition with beautiful holes - water has accompanied almost every hole (directly or indirectly). If we are back in the area, we love to come back!

Beautiful interesting golf course

Even with a reservation, we were advised of fresh aerifizierte greens. The court nevertheless presented itself in tip-top condition. Lovingly maintained course with interesting holes - definitely worth a round - predicate very good!
