Just Gorgeous!

Awesome golf course, one of my favourites by far. Fairways are wide and feel like walking on a really soft carpet. The whole place is exceptionally well maintained. Love playing this course especially nowadays because of the increased tree height and the redesign of the 18th lake and green. Gets better every year :)

Awesome Place!

Very cool golf course. A few tough holes along the water, but if you stay on the fairway, you ll be doing just fine. Fairways feel like soft carpet floor and greens were spot on, fast and varied. Every hole is different and some of them require to play tactical, even choosing irons of the tee. Absolutely loved it will come back for more. Trees have grown much taller since the last time I had played the course, and certainly made missed fairways more of a trouble than back then.
Thank you!

Relaxed golf in a beautiful landscape - without a kick.

Have played the course twice. The environment is gorgeous, the place well maintained! The fairways are all "highways". I have probably never pulled out my 3 wood so often on any other course (and that's not my favorite club!) The course is at over 1,000 m and you get "mountain goat places" elsewhere. Here, however, everything is absolutely flat! And the balls fly further at this height, so be careful when choosing a club. Otherwise you can easily play a good score.

The downside of the coin: the layout is super boring. Par 4 on the first nine holes, seven. Always straight ahead. The back nine are then a little more varied. You cross the narrow Mur twice, at least once (!) with a dogleg, wow. There are two larger ponds, but unfortunately they are not included. Only the shot into the 18th green has to be played over water. (Finally!!!).
The golf course designer would have had every opportunity to create a beautiful AND challenging course on this lush site (there is also a 9-hole short course) with natural water. Missed opportunity, what a pity!

I have to mention the big greens: well maintained like everything else, but slow and dull. (The design, which is boring here too, suits the place).

Since the friendly operators can not do anything for the space design, I award the 5 stars.

Thanks for your review. We are pleased that you enjoyed your round with us and the area.

We regret that you don't like the architecture of the course, but allow us to say that this has never actually been criticized to this day and we have really never heard the rating "super boring". In general, the response from our guests (and members) is the opposite, after all (depending on the skill level) there are seven holes to overcome frontal water hazards from the tee. Depending on your own "course management" or handicap, you can also choose more defensive strategies on some holes. We also have a total of 6 doglegs (three each on the first and three on the second nine holes).
The only "natural" water on the course is the Mur (which, however, was regulated in the 1980s). We are pleased to hear that the larger and smaller ponds that were specially created appear to be natural bodies of water, since our facility is considered a very natural place.
It would be our pleasure to welcome you again soon!
In the meantime, we wish you a nice golf season!
Best regards
Your GC Lungau/Katschberg team
