Great place, but not cheap

We played the north course. The place was in top condition. Fast greens and well-maintained fairways. A really challenging place. Was fun.
We were allowed to spend the night in our motorhome in the parking lot. The food in the club restaurant was good.
Only the green fee was a bit high at the weekend at €120.

36 varied holes

Südplatz (PAR 72) on November 9th and Nordplatz (PAR 71) on November 25th, 2020. The 36-hole course is located in absolute tranquility and nature a little northeast of Düsseldorf and can be reached quickly via the A3. Now and then you can see a couple of planes landing, as Düsseldorf Airport is not far away. The terrain is hilly (cart recommended for those who are not so sporty), ingrown with trees and bushes. Both courses offer different and varied challenges for golfers of all levels, such as dense rough, well-placed bunkers, doglegs and water hazards that come into play again and again. Higher HC, although most tees are open, should rather choose the front tees. On the Südplatz and Nordplatz, holes 1 and 18 are the most spectacular, in my opinion, because you have to play on both courts from elevated tees and over biotopes / water hazards. From my point of view, the north square is the slightly better one, also in terms of the state of care and probably also the more frequented one among the members. Basically, however, it never gets boring on either course. Due to the nature of the tracks, blind strokes or strokes from sloping positions can occur. The maintenance condition was basically okay, even if some lanes, primarily on the south square, were very wet, so that there the clay under the shoes and under the wheels of the trolly stuck. You have a little problem with moles on some tracks, which is obvious. But tees and greens were 90% okay. On the south course, in contrast to the north course, after 9 holes you are not back at the clubhouse but at the other end of the course. So if you only want to play 9 holes, the north course is recommended. The clubhouse with restaurant (terrace with a view but not tested as it is closed) is appropriately modern for a 36-hole course. The employees in the separate "service office" and pro shop are very friendly and nice. I reserved a start time by email one day in advance and received it despite the current corona storm and the related two-person flight. Unfortunately, as a guest, you cannot view and book the tee times on the homepage. Reservations for guests are currently at least 24 hours in advance. The games on both days in sunny November weather were quite brisk but not overcrowded. In my view, the standard green fee is at the upper limit. And if you don't have a golden hologram on your ID, a surcharge is also required, which is incomprehensible and does not necessarily promote golf. This is a shame, because the Hösel Golf Club is actually exemplary in the field of golf and youth development. A green is currently being converted on the south square and a tee on the north square, so I may have received an unsolicited discount. The training opportunities on the large practice area with driving range are exemplary. All in all, I can unreservedly recommend the game at GC Hösel.

2 top courses

Beautiful slightly hilly south plaza. Played 30.05.17. On Matchday Mowing on South, which do not disturb. The morned mown already. Lots of clover. For price / performance I am caught, since Partnerclub. Great terrace to eat on the 1st floor. Clearly hilly northern plaza. Played 11.07.17. On the day's place quite dry, greens super neat. One meets more slopes. Some climbs on the second 9 are cumbersome (eg to the 16), eCart / eTrolley recommended. A great area, we like to come back regularly.
