Very good experience

Hello everyone.
Here are some topics why I think this Golf Club deserves 5 stars

1. Service - Very friendly and helpful receptionist. I read that someone wrote they could'nt play here because they had to show their homeclub sertification or something like that. In my case the receptionist only asked if I have a green card. I told yes, and that was all that was needed. So i thik they have already improved in that way.
Because i came from Estonia, I didn't bring any clubs with me which meant i had to rent clubs. Clubs themselves weren't anything special, but they did the job. Only one Sidemark to the golf club - next time make sure you have all the right clubs in the bag. I had two 8 irons and was missing a 7 iron.
2. Practise - I think they have quite decent practise oportunities. Driving range with a oportunity to practise on a matt and on a grass and even under the shelter. You could practise pitching up to 30m, bunker shots, chiping on a different green and putting on a different green as well.
3. Course - I want to point out right away that the course is in really good condition. They have defenetly improved in that, compared to reviews from couple of years ago. There is only one thing I could say I wasn't hapy about. That was the bunkers. Some bunkers had grass growing in them and the edge of a bunker wasnt refined. However most of the bunkers seemd to be in good condition, at least the ones I happend to be in, and also the sand in the bunker is very good in my oppinion. If some of you want to know how fast the greens are. Unfortunatelly i cant give you the right speed number, but in my personal oppinion they were a litle bit too slow. Some greens had very interesting and challenging slopes, but I Always over read the greens because they were quite slow. And if a green is slow, the slope of the green doesn't affect the putt that much.
The course itself looked very beautiful in my oppinion. Like it has been said here before, the First 9 is very techincal and interesting while the Back 9 is quite easy. But the diversity that the course offers with it's totaly differet first and back 9's is in my oppinion one of the best reasons why to come and play here.

I definitely recommend coming to play here. Very interesting first nine and quite easy but very beautiful back 9.

Thank you very much for your great and extensive review. We will take a closer look at our rental bags and also consider whether we should buy higher quality bags for the future. You are right about the bunkers, they are not all in perfect condition yet. Already yesterday 25 tons of new sand were distributed and in the next week another 25 tons. We look forward to seeing you again soon.

Beautiful plant

Well maintained facility, nice clubhouse with good restaurants. Long lanes only on the first nine holes in scenic surroundings.

Unfortunately, the first nine holes were so sanded today that putting was not possible. Pure gambling. With this experience I would not want to play here again.

Super comfortable

I was in the region for three weeks and therefore played the course often.
The greenkeepers do a great job! The secretariat is very nice and the gastro is delicious and cozy (great cakes).
The first 9 holes are very wide and you have to play them a few times (there are some blind shots) to get a really good score. The second 9 are rather short but no less exciting.
All in all a highly recommended place.
PS: Since I played more often I also got an extra discount... Thank you very much...

Sometimes less is more…

This course used to be a good 9-hole course - albeit with the necessary distances between the greens and the next tees. But on the first nine you will be rewarded with beautiful views of the Black Forest and various beautiful farms. One or the other fairway is sometimes difficult to find, but that doesn't bother you. But who came up with the idea of accommodating another nine holes on what feels like four football pitches and then marketing the whole thing as an 18-hole course? Since most players obviously appreciate this part of the course, the right to play through for players coming from the 9th hole is only of limited use. After the two of us needed almost 1 1/2 hours for four short par 3s and 4s, we stopped on the tee of the 14 in exasperation! Urgent recommendation: play the first nine and watch the hustle and bustle on the short course over a beer on the terrace!

A very nice place now

The overall condition of the course has greatly improved - fairways well mowed and greens are also in good condition.
The "old" nine holes are of course pure Black Forest and great to play - the second nine are very narrow and "Fore" is the order of the day.
Gastro super friendly and the club management has also developed strongly for the positive in the new management. We'd love to come back.
Since the price-performance ratio is right for us, there are 4 stars

Really good golf is required here!

Here really good golf and precise game are required with the slopes, the sometimes long fairways and the many natural obstacles. Inselgreens over walls, hedges and water. What's exciting is that the first and second nine couldn't be more different. However, nobody should expect a well-kept parkland course here!

Good seasonal and regional dishes or homemade cakes are served in the “Golfstüble” club restaurant.

Tiptop

Nice course, very cool combination of two 9-hole courses to one 18-hole course - this allows a lot of flexibility when playing. Team in the bistro flawless and uncomplicated. The place is not overcrowded and you can usually go on the lap without a reserved start time.
Everything is not perfect down to the smallest detail, but where is that?
The sum of the positive aspects is convincing. We have managed to play the first and second 9 holes in combination about 6 or 7 times this season and will try to improve that in the coming season. The bottom line is a nice place and a relaxed, pleasant atmosphere - that's how it has to be for us.

Hideous

Played in pairs. HCP 15.5 and 20.2 The fairways are like a field. Tees more earth instead of green.
Fungal greens - and unkempt.
The last 9 holes crammed together.
Our conclusion: Training space in the lowest category for a whopping € 58.
You will never see us here again!

First 9 top, second 9 tight, overall still appealing

Service: We had a group booking 2 weeks ago, it was absolutely problem-free, friendly service, courteous.
Range: Here comes the first smaller point deduction, whoever arrives closer should skip the range, as the "detour" there is a little longer. Seats are still sufficient, chipping and pitching possible, I couldn't test the bunker game.
Place: Architecturally beautifully laid out first 9, very narrow and hilly second 9th Embedded in the rural idyll of the Black Forest, small point deduction at hole 8.528m par 5, behind the second water there is an approx. 20 m long biotope - you would have it on the board can indicate, because entry is of course not permitted.
Greens: If mowed, then sure o. K, was on 5.9. but unfortunately not the case, slowly and in places straw patches.
Conclusion: not 5 stars, tending to 3.5 stars, but atmosphere and overall impression good, comfort factor given, worth a trip.

Registration chaos

Like every year, my wife and I wanted to play 18 holes on the course of the Hochschwarzwald Golf Club. We were always very satisfied with the space and especially the friendliness of the staff.
But this time it was completely different. However, when we tried to register by phone several times, the phone was not picked up. The prompt recall promised on the AB did not take place either. We then left our wish for tea time and a car on the AB.
As it turned out today, the AB was not bugged the next morning either. Apparently they have forgotten that. We drove about 2 times 1 hour to be told that neither a tee time nor a car were reserved for us. Why the phone was switched off and no one was called back, no answer. It was apologized proforma, but friendly in the past was different.
Apparently, the rush of golfers with the Black Forest Card is so great that there is little interest in green fee players from the wider region.

Golf is no fun here

We (14.8 and 14.9) played this course yesterday. We are very disappointed with this golf course. The fairways of the first 9 holes were in a very bad condition and the greens also had a lot of spots, so putting was mainly due to chance. The second 9 holes were practically exclusively 3-par holes in a confined space, so that they corresponded more to a practice area. The price of 68 euros was far too high for the quality of the course. In any case, we would never play this place again.

No good condition

No good condition. The fairways to a certain extent, the semi-rough had holey meadow character, the tees apparently are not watered and are completely dried up. The greens are nice undulating but irregular, slow and not true to track. The paths between the fairways are sometimes very long, the hilly fairways require a bit of stamina and narrow fairways precise play. The back nine are all very short holes and are close together. Great attention is required here. Not everyone likes the busy federal highway. Little shadow areas and hardly any trash cans. The lady in the office was very nice and courteous.
Overall a shame, you could do more with it.

Absolutely worth playing

I played the front nine on the 25th of July 1919 and can only recommend the GC. Even if the club is located on the main road, disturb the traffic noise at most two holes. Otherwise you are through the valleys and the forest in beautiful peace. Anyway actually a must for Black Forest tourists through the idyllic location and the typical isolated Black Forest houses. The place state is good despite the heatwave. Some holes require really good golf through narrow fairways. Killer Hole: Track 8 as a very long par 5 with various obstacles on the fairway. The reception in the secretariat is professional and friendly, as well as the gastronomy with a beautiful view of the 18.

It's really fun

Today (18.06.19) played the frontnine. Great weather, nice club office lady, normal price. Course state good, greens fast and strong undulating. You have to read very carefully. Sometimes long distances between the tracks, which also demand. Signage could be better. Manko-club restaurant closed despite dream weather and vending machine empty. Can one repeat and who is just near - play quietly.

A really great place

The telephone reservation, including a required change of the start time by us, was very competent and friendly. The place is in a great care condition, very varied and landscaped optimally integrated.

The gastronomy is also highly recommended. Friendly, nice location and very adequate menu for hungry golfers.

Everything in a top price / performance ratio. We are happy to come back.

Not so nice after the conversion

We played the second time here. For the first time when it was still a 9 hole course, then he liked us very much. Unfortunately not so good after the conversion. The first 9 holes did not lose their character. The second 9 are just too tight

Petty

I live with my husband in London, we play golf often and regularly and have played in all possible countries. This year I wanted to show him my old home and we had planned a Black Forest vacation with golf, where we planned to play different golf courses in the Black Forest. We had pre-booked by phone in Titisee - when we arrived we were asked for our club membership cards from our club in England - we did not have them. So they did not let us play in Titisee. The lady in the pro shop was not ready to compromise - rules are rules - so we will not come back to such an unfriendly place - we can spend our money elsewhere too.
Quite different, however, was the Oeschberghof in Donaueschingen - you have the choice between 2 x 18 holes and another 9 hole course - all wonderful and challenging places that are not on a busy road. In contrast, the team is super helpful - we played some wonderful rounds there. So stay away from Titisee and drive 30min further to Donaueschingen!

Catastrophic greens!

The course (the first 9 holes) are very interesting and varied.
The second 9 (due to the narrowness) rather average.
The greens are in a very bad condition. Extremely slow and holey like Swiss cheese.
You have to concentrate on the individual tees very well so as not to be disturbed by passing by any car or motorbike (close to the B31).

The reception was friendly.

In my opinion one would necessarily (!) Describe the track descriptions of the individual holes in more detail. For the player playing the course for the first time, the first 9 holes become a lottery game. Please more information such as length to fairway end or doglegs the length to the kink.

Conclusion: there is still a lot to do here...

It's better, much better

I played the course in May 2018. The first 9 are demanding, the second 9 less; but terribly tight and sometimes dangerous. What I did not like at all was the catastrophic condition. High grass on the teas, the fairways hardly mowed lower than the first cut, the greens in bad condition. The service in the clubhouse was friendly and good. Unfortunately, this can only lead to a second star in my rating - Too bad, the place has potential

Not for demanding golfers

- up and down - golf course
- very different front and back nine (rather pitch and put)
- the back nine are very tight (8-ung flying balls of other tracks)
- the condition of the golf course is just average
- the golf course is more suitable for holidaymakers to practice
- the staff is very nice

- think it makes little sense to design a golf course at almost 1000 m

- I will not play this place any more

Terrible layout, only 6 decent tracts

The place is beautifully situated and offers several beautiful views of the Black Forest. The reception was done on business, the club members on the court were reserved until arrogant. Bahn 1 goes along the road and has to be targeted. Then come halfway proper 6 lanes with many slopes and partly narrow fairways. From then on there is a lack of space for sensible pathways, you play crosses over other tracks, you have to wait all the time, so you are not endangered, everything is extremely tight and squashed. Tee off and green are partly only 5 meters apart. We did not like it at all. Because of the 6 lanes, which are quite fun, there is no terrible.

Great place and nice people

The golf course is very demanding. He is very well maintained.
The staff is very accommodating. Players on the golf course usually very nice. On the downside, you get several times the road quite close and the car looks and sounds.
Overall, I find him excellent.

A good extension

I played the 9 hole course as a guest already repeatedly and recently on a summer Monday for the first time the 18 holes. The new second 9 holes are very challenging, tight and there is a lot of fun to play this. It is called one wants to create his handicap!
A small damper: The restaurant was day of our visit (Monday) closed.

Challenge in beautiful surroundings - So golf must be

Golfclub Hochschwarzwald was recommended to us as a golf outing in the Black Forest with umkomplizierter Driving and interesting golf.
Parking is spacious and near to the clubhouse.
Reception very friendly. The path to the driving range is clearly written.
Driving Range - with generous views of pastures and surrounding woods. Short game practice facility and putting green: ideal for warming up.
To make training and import of fun - miniature house and infrastructure built everything new and professionally.
The holes 10 - 18 have to play is likely. Course management is announced - it has something for every shot and for each club...
Varied designed - ie with obstacles such as bunkers, water, tall grass, etc. must be able to handle.
Play Wonderful are the holes 13 and 18 (18 with the small lake and the views again over the whole area) From Green Hole 18 (slightly elevated) can again consider the system around and is looking forward to another round here in the Black Forest.
We will be back.

The environment is a lot here and the place is not to be underestimated

Gladly I travel several times a year there and rejoice in the beautiful surroundings. The terrain is very hilly and the paths to the holes, especially on the first 9 partly very long. So I'll take a cart. The second new holes are for reasons of topography actually partly a bit close together. Also, they are not as long as the first 9 holes. Thanks to the intelligent layout All thing still applies accuracy before length. Also for better players a challenge. Employees of the plant are very friendly. The new driving range and short game practice area I find very well maintained and well managed. Schade, on this occasion the old range balls were not substituted.

Terrible layout

The location is well situated and offers beautiful views of the Black Forest. The staff is nice and helpful. But unfortunately, the course design after the reconstruction is really failed. You play criss-crossing other paths, must frequently wait so you no risk, everything is extremely narrow and squeezed. the tee Especially failed 10/11, in which you can only knock on the 10 even if the 11 has repulsed. This automatically leads to congestion there.
As the place had 9 hole he was coherent, now no longer...

Pretty tricky...

We played the # 1 spot for x 9 holes in the drizzle. The green fee is within the Upper Black Forest Tourist Card 1x per day for free... the card is issued for multi-day stays in the hotels founder. The place is nicely landscaped, but surrounded partially very close and ostracism. It must be considered diverse biotopes and water hazards the front and side. In addition, must in large part blind, are played without the rest of the fairway or the position of the green to see that. On the day it was this very wet because it had rained several times in recent days. All in all a real challenge to be found at the precise players their joy. Long hitters, especially if not with precise ball control, little joy to be found and should like to have some more balls have it. In the club office we were welcomed as a guest player you will feel welcome here.

The 9 hole course is in good condition. Played in the company of our dog. 9 hole is tricky, since it has almost only high grass between the tee and the green. With the guest card (min 2 x stay in a hotel) to play once per day for free.
