Nicely embeded 18 holes in hilly landscape

Very welcoming personell at reception and members always friendly. Some holes are not very long, but partly still not easy to play. Fairways and greens in very good condition when I played. From some fairways maginficent views over the surrounding hilly landscape. The whole course is far away from city or highway noise. Alltogether excellent value for the fairly cheap greenfee.

Great golf course in the beautiful nature of the Eifel

First of all: I admit, I love this place! Fantastic golf course embedded in the landscape that never gets boring. Not overcrowded and absolutely quiet.

The challenge is actually just to be able to cope with the slopes. Because there are hardly any water hazards or bunkers that are difficult to play. The latter are basically very fair and also prevent ball losses. As far as I can tell, the greenkeepers do an excellent job there. In the spring there were probably some problems with the condition of some greens, but other courses that I played at that time were not spared either.

All of the staff there are extremely helpful. The gastronomy can definitely be recommended.

It's a pity, by the way, that some reviewers here engage in completely superfluous "pensioner bashing" instead of working on their game. This seems to be due to frustration. It is also interesting that golf courses should offer free accommodation. Giving bad ratings with these reasons is just outrageous.

Beautifully landscaped, but bad place

Very scenic and quiet golf course in the Eifel with views to the Siebengebirge. Despite the nice weather and Mother's Day, not particularly crowded and no crowds on the lanes.
Partly erratic system of the tracks with a lot of blind shots. Not really playable without tips from my flight partner or without knowledge of the place. Greens are sometimes in very bad condition.
Tiny signage. Never follow your intuition on the 12 and walk in the direction of the road, otherwise you will get lost. It's steep up and down. The tee rule on the 14/15 means that there are balls from two flights on the 15, where playful pensioners may play the wrong ball (bye Srixon, thanks cheap ball).
Overall more of a meadow with a low fun factor. Green fee of 89 € is clearly too high.

It's a pity that you didn't enjoy your stay with us. The Bad Münstereifel Golf Club has made a name for itself with its extraordinary landscape and natural surroundings and is considered one of the 30 most beautiful golf courses in Germany. Due to the hilly landscape, it is of course inevitable that there are also one or the other 'blind' hole.

After more than 100mm of precipitation in the last 7 days, many places in the area had to close for days. We too have had restrictions on mowing in the last few days. The fact that the place was not in an ideal condition is also due to this fact. We hope you have a better experience next time.

Miserable

Never played a place in such a desolate condition. Daisies and dandelions on the fairways. Putting was simply not possible on the greens. Nevertheless, the full green fee price was required. The biggest cheek: for staying overnight with the mobile home on the sloping parking lot without infrastructure (extra mobile home parking spaces, electricity, etc.) we had to pay another €10. An insolence.

It's a pity that you didn't enjoy your stay with us. We are 400m above sea level, so it is normal that we do not have a perfect pitch in April. This year in particular, nature is clearly lagging behind due to the cold weather. In addition, we are a very natural place that, unlike most places, uses very little chemicals. It is therefore possible that every now and then a dandelion cheats its way into the fairway, which is simply sprayed away on other courses. Our members really appreciate that we treat nature so carefully and that we promote biodiversity with many different projects, such as cultivating large flowering meadows!
As long as the course is not in good condition, there is a reduced green fee. That's how it was in the last few weeks. They only paid 50% of the green fee, so it's a bit surprising that they don't mention it... And of course you will have used our infrastructure like showers if you stayed with us. €5 per person doesn't even cover the costs, it's just a small contribution.

Care condition unacceptable

Team in the secretariat very friendly, place condition unacceptable, partial deductions from mats (why?) Fairways neglected, the system makes a somewhat rustic impression overall, that is much better

Nice hilly place and good restaurant, WoMo allowed in the car park.

We played this course as the second on our camper tour - when we asked if we could stay there overnight with the camper after the round, we were already given a warm welcome on the phone. The warm welcome became even more warm on site.

The description of the course is two reviews (reiner2304) below, there is no better way to describe it - a very interesting course, which starts quite unspectacularly, but becomes exciting from hole 3 and "at the back" has a number of very nice holes! The raised tees and some "blind" shots are of course always a challenge if you don't know the place, but the directional posts are helpful. And even if it sometimes looks strange, these are ABSOLUTELY recommended - sometimes the fairway, invisible from the tee, hangs steeply in one direction after the crest, which is why playing over the respective directional post is a MUST! In any case, saves balls if you are not "smarter" than the court architect...

And overall, the course was in very good condition - despite the flood disaster in the region that had actually only recently passed.

We also enjoyed the food after the round on the beautiful terrace - the young waitress doesn't (yet?) Play golf, but was very attentive and we were well looked after.

Sanitary facilities: the showers are okay, the washrooms open again from around 7 a.m.

The camper overnight stay in the parking lot (slightly inclined) was also great, the next morning we went on... we spent a very nice day of golf here and - as promised - we like to advertise this beautiful place in Germany Southwest.

My personal conclusion: definitely play when you're around, great lanes, beautiful views, sporty layout, very nice people!

Diverse and beautiful.

There are places where one hole looks like another. This place is very different. Above all, it convinces with the lanes that are wonderfully embedded in the beautiful landscape. In addition, the course offers a lot of variety and shows 3 different characteristics across the 18 holes. Initially open tracks with great views over the hilly Eifel landscape to the other side of the Rhine into the Siebengebirge. Then you play a few holes in the dense forest with old trees before you play the last 5 holes in a hilly, open landscape with spectacular holes.

The greens were lightly sanded at the moment and therefore not yet perfect, but that will surely have grown out in 2 weeks and then you will be able to play here again in the usual good quality.

For me the most scenic place in the Cologne-Bonn region.

Fences to prevent ball loss

The fact that electric fences are installed to protect against game damage is not only evident to hunters. Hanging, often secluded lanes, which are fences to prevent the ball from being lost, do not speak in favor of a "sensible" game of golf. The course offers a golf adventure with an unpredictable outcome (including the bumpy greens).

The course is more suitable for enjoying the view than for a meaningful, controlled and relaxed round of golf.

It's a shame you didn't like it that much. Fortunately, we also get very positive feedback from members and guests, who are happy when a failed ball doesn't roll into the rough but is kept in play by a fence. Anyone who remembers knows that it was cold and frosty for a very long time in spring 2021, so that the greens could not recover from the aeration measures as quickly as usual. Our greens were in very good condition throughout the season.

Sporting challenge in the Eifel

Last played on June 26,2020. The hilly 18-hole golf course is located on the edge of the romantic Heino hometown of Bad Münstereifel (approx. 50 km south of Cologne) and can be reached quickly from the Eifel motorway A1. On the way from the highway to the club, the streets can be narrow and attention should be paid to game changes. The facility itself is in absolute tranquility and nature and offers clear views of the Eifel, the Siebengebirge or the Cologne Bay from time to time in various places. I played the course a few times over 20 years ago at the beginning of my golf game, because you can also play with the HC 54 here on the weekend and the game is usually not overcrowded. However, this time I again found that the place for high HC is certainly unsuitable, because you can quickly lose balls in the many bushes and forests with sometimes narrow tees or over biotopes. Basically you should play strategically and if necessary choose the front tees. If you stand at the first somewhat unloving tee (PAR 3), you initially have the feeling that you are more of a practice or short course. But already on lane 3 you need stamina the first time you climb the mountain. Then, especially on the backnine, there are other height differences to deal with. Those who are not quite as sporty should rent a cart if necessary. Even after 9 lanes you are not directly back at the clubhouse. But you can stop after 8 or 10 or 12 lanes and go back to the clubhouse via a path. As I said, there are some challenges to be overcome. Apart from blind blows from inclined positions or doglegs, there are very narrow lanes to the green on the 9 and 16, for example. Also of interest are the greatly increased discounts on lanes 14 (PAR 3) and 15, whereby after you have discarded from 14 you do not go to the green, but first you cut off from 15 to avoid the otherwise necessary ascent to tee 15. A sign on site also advises this procedure. Lanes 10 to 13 go through relatively dense forest and narrow the lanes there accordingly. On the way from the 10 to the 11 you cross the lane 13 and you have to be careful not to tee off there. In general, a small street also crosses the square, where traffic has to be observed again and again. From the 11th tee and on the green of 15 you can see a very large telescope and on the 12 you pass a fenced-in, probably former military bunker. The greens, which were impeccable, were impressed by the condition. However, the fairways were very dry and the areas from the tee to the fairway were extremely dry and uneven with many bald spots. The tees themselves were often not in good condition and uneven. In high summer heat, there should be a big problem here. The balls have already jumped and rolled a lot. What is not really nice, unfortunately, are some smaller power lines that repeatedly pull the corresponding masts across the fairways. The standard green fee on weekdays of € 59 and on weekends of € 69 is too high in the current state. By the way, with a golden R in your ID you get a € 3 discount. But there are very cheap early bird and sundowner tariffs. The club house with attached restaurant makes a solid impression. The receptionist was friendly. We had booked a tea time online via the homepage. Since we were a little earlier, he moved the start time by 30 minutes, which wasn't a problem. However, it remains his secret why he billed € 69 as a green fee for me on a Friday afternoon. I did not complain because I redeemed a 2: 1 voucher from Golf-Albrecht. You can also save a little with the golf card. The club is also a member of the GolfAlliance association in the Cologne / Bonn area. In conclusion, the course offers an absolute sporty and certainly unique challenge for golfers of all levels in the Eifel, but the condition of maintenance should definitely be improved.

Not recommended at the moment.

The place has hardly any green fairways.
Here the fairway irrigation is missing at all corners and ends.
Therefore, the place is not really nice to play because there is hardly any lawn left, the balls roll uncontrollably over the fairway.

Very scenic, golferisch...

Very nice golf course with some successful fairways and some spectacular views. Individual holes of the course (as of 2017/18) are from my personal point of view but sporty borderline fair and golf course design technically not really succeeded (lane 13) and / or by artificial exclusion attempts to correct (eg lane 4). You should know the place well in view of some blind deductions, for example, on track 4.9 (here also for the 2nd beat), 12.16 to choose the position of attack correctly. For me, this is more of a place for a leisure than for a game round.

Also in November, still beautiful

Could play with my 2 Flightpartners all alone, without crowding. There were neither players directly in front nor behind us. Wonderfully, where else is that today? 2 lanes in front of us was a 2er Flight, which also enjoyed the wonderful peace and fall mood. In addition, the very nice reception in the office and the gastronomy. Therefore again 5 stars.
The slightly hilly landscape offers a lot of variety. Each track has its own character that distinguishes this course from many others in the area. Anyone who has something for the beautiful views, the nature and tranquility left, will fall in love with this place.

Great place, great people!

My absolute favorite place in the Cologne-Bonn area. Definitely a 5 * review. We had once more a wonderful golf day. The place with its varied characteristics (at first many beautiful views over the Eifel to the distant Rhine Valley, then railways with old trees and finally great tracks in the hilly terrain) inspires me again and again. You have an incredible peace here. Afterwards we ate well in a very friendly, pleasant atmosphere.

Beautiful golf course with improvement potential

The reception was friendly. The challenges of the course are not the few obstacles, but the hilly topography and some ondoliert greens. An e-cart is especially recommended for older semesters. The complex is quietly located and offers very beautiful views in the Eifel. The nursing condition of the place was remoteness. The sign for the next tea is very small and in some places incomplete. We had problems finding the train 11. In the bistro there were only two standard dishes to choose from. Reason: the season is over.

"Indian Summer Golf" at its finest

Superbly located with spectacular railways (especially the back nine). Did the court today played in beautiful autumn landscape - almost kitschy-beautiful buntbelaubte hills frame a manicured golf course, in which almost everything is just right - especially the design of the varied paths. For the 5th star would only be worked a bit on the trappings such as the signs of the paths and design of the tee areas. Will come back definitely, because this is also true, the value for money especially.

Course with a view!

This wonderful Eifel circuit is a clear recommendation!
All holes were in my Easter round in an absolutely pristine condition. With an eye for detail and order here a varied and athletic quite challenging course is offered. The holes have frequently a blind tee, making the course by his own admission of members including first time "something tricky" is (therefore clear recommendation for the purchase of Birdie Edition!). And then there are always those really wonderful views of the foothills of the Voreifel to over Cologne and Bonn.
The green fee is calculated as extremely fair and VcG visitors I was friendly and courteous welcome.
Since I go in any case to go back!
