"Leading Course" or not, this is the Best course in Austria, and perhaps in Europe. Certainly it is the most spectacular. Only the most fit, or foolish, chose to walk this beauty, although walking likely provides the closest commune with this incredible environment. If you live close enough, it is a Must Play. Even if not, you will never forget the 18 hole Championship Course experience. Once in a lifetime that some of us have been fortunate to experience more frequently.

I played at this course a few times with friends and it is always a phenomenal experience overall. Very challenging, yet rewarding course. From the moment you step up to the first tee box- golf become real. The beautiful landscape when teeing off of each hole is quite priceless.
In my opinion, this is the best golf course in Austria!

I have been coming to Adamstal already about 8 years. First time I arrive I was shocked how beautiful and peaceful the place is. Always warm welcome at reception. Facilities are bit small, however sufficient enough. Wallerbach course has very narrow fairways and it is more challenging. Championship course offers great views and unbelievable shots. Do not forget to take some change for the halfway house. Great idea is 19th hole. Greens and fairways are great always very juicy and with no weeds. For us it is best course in Austria and within 10 in Europe.

What an outstanding experience! Even we had a rainy day we have enyoyed this beautiful place. The course is not easy, but number one quality. We were in mid-June, so after several weeks of midsummer with +30°C then sometimes in the Adamstal and played both courses on 2 days. Also spent the night there and used the gastro several times.
Where else brown, cracked fairways and bare greens are almost normal during such long periods of weather, both courses in the Adamstal are in perfect green. The systems benefit from the location and surroundings.
Embedded in mountain forests, small narrow valleys with streams, many of the tracks are not exposed to the blazing sun and the wind all day long. Although the wind (if any) can also affect the game on some tracks. You have to have played here to appreciate the great job architect Jeff Howes did here. To integrate such a demanding 27 holes so sensitively and perfectly into this environment is a true masterpiece that is absolutely unique. Finding something comparable in this constellation is hardly possible.
But one must also say clearly that both places are not for pedestrians. Also with e-trolley. Increase 9 holes 171 meters in altitude at 6.07 km // Increase 18 holes 445 meters in altitude at 14.02 km!! In particular, the paths between the green and the tee box sometimes climb very steeply. We played 4 days after the Eurobam final. The greens were true to the line and brisk but no glass surfaces.
As mentioned by a commenter earlier, the practice area is actually rather meager here. Many other golf clubs can do that much better. But to quickly hit a small bucket to warm up to find your straight drive, that's enough. Because being driven is immensely important here.
A lot has already been corrected about the gastro. Our experiences are actually quite positive. Friendly German or English speaking staff. Good service and a menu where everyone can find something and which didn't seem overpriced to us. We were always satisfied and well taken care of on both days.
The ladies at the reception deserve great praise. Rarely have we been greeted in such a friendly manner and familiarized with the localities. We occupied the in-house double room. All rooms are not the most modern, but have charm, were clean and perfectly adequate for us.
Conclusion:
Two 5 star golf courses for straight players a MUST.
An inglorious training area for a member of the "Leading Golf Courses", but which still provides the most necessary things.
Gastro and overnight stay with a lot of charm and completely sufficient for us. However, for guests who are not familiar with the level of other leading golf courses, this may not be good enough.

We played the course in late April 2014. The place was for the season in a very good condition. Tees, fairways were perfect, the greens are not quite overgrown after aeration. For us, a discount was granted.
The course is a challenge! The handicap tables give an idea of what to expect one. There is hardly a shock that does not bear a hillside with it. The "common" Amateur golfers often enough to fight in the plane with his game. Here the bar is a bit higher again.
We followed the recommendations of the present reviews and have taken a cart. Absolutely right decision. The course is built in the mountains near Ramsau, any premises where one would look for a golf course.
