Extended to 18 holes suitable for beginner golfers

Played here again on March 30,2024 after a long time. The flat course, which will be expanded to 18 holes in 2023, is located in the west just outside Cologne, easily accessible via the A4 and A1 motorways. The complex is actually in peace and nature, but a train runs directly past the squares every few minutes on the Cologne-Aachen route. The course is divided into two 9-hole loops, each of which requires separate start times. At PAR 32 (4x PAR 3 and 5x PAR 4), the red course is significantly shorter than the black course (PAR 35), although this course is not long either. If you play 18 holes on both courses, it's a good 4,800 meters for men and a good 3,600 meters for women. There is not a single tree on the new part of the course, but with three larger lakes there is plenty of opportunity to place the ball in the water hazard. Here, the black hole 5 in particular is the challenge of getting the ball dry to the green between the lakes. The older part of the square hasn't really grown in yet either. The two PAR 5 holes on the black round offer real challenges. Most PAR 4 holes (except the 2 on black) are quite short and can be reached in two shots. All holes go more or less straight and have wide fairways. The overall condition was okay, the greens were good. However, after the winter, the tees could be moved from the very front a little back, as there was extreme wear and tear at the front. The concept is clearly aimed at golf beginners. There are also two PAR 9 short courses, one of which can be played by anyone without a license. There are plenty of practice areas including a double-deck driving range. The start times (can be booked online) are usually well booked and since many people are traveling here with HC 54, even the short round can take a little longer. The green fee varies depending on the day of the week and time between €67 and €87 for 18 holes, which is definitely too much for the course. However, there are always special prices (you have to buy the green fee in advance through the shop) and there is no surcharge for golfers without a hologram. The clubhouse is modern, functional and has a bistro (not in use) where you can also eat something. The employees at the counter are friendly, if not always attentive. The facility is certainly very suitable for golf beginners. The Golfcity concept is relaxed and casual, but the standard green fee is too high for guests.

Course qualification obtained here

Cultivated golfing in a pleasant atmosphere.
Totally relaxed learning with an experienced and friendly golf instructor.
Generously designed practice area and demanding.
Equipment including balls and plenty of time. Even after the course units, each participant was able to deepen their training and continue playing on the practice areas.
The exam was relaxed and took enough time.
Well prepared, of course we passed it.

Later we visited the place for another round and enjoyed the beautiful facility and nature.

Unfair

Sunday beginning of November Starting times 9 holes reserved for 2 persons by telephone in three hours, according to the homepage in the winter months green fee 15 €, if necessary winter greens. On arrival, a green fee of 43 € per person was demanded instead about 70 minutes before sunset. An in-house supervisor talked out that this would only apply if winter greens were also set. From the exact text of the homepage this is not clear, we just feel cheated. Accepting a reservation and then asking for almost three times is simply an outrageous behavior.
