The challenging 18-hole championship course of Golf Nippenburg is situated only 20 minutes away from the city centre and the airport on a terrain of 240 acres. All of the narrow fairways are embedded into undulating terrain.
The elevated teeing rounds remind golfers of renowned courses in the US and Great Britain. The greens with their arena-like shape are particularly charming.

Good golf course but horrible management

Course is well designed and plays nice although the maintenance standards have gone down slightly compared to few years back. Upper management is horrible and dodgy! Having seen how they treat their employees I wouldn't recommend working there.

We played at Nippenburg yesterday. We avoid the course in summer because it's often parched and hard, and the layout makes many shots uncontrollable. Balls often bounce unpredictably and get lost. This time, even in April, it's not far from that condition. Many bare patches, especially in the rough, have been heavily tractor-damaged, which looks very unsightly at the moment. The bunkers are often devoid of any significant sand, hard, and crumbly. Overall, a sorry state of affairs.
What's also striking is the fact that seemingly every third bunker has been removed. So much for Bernhard Langer's great layout. The course is being simplified, but that won't compensate for the lack of proper course maintenance.
Overall, the course still seems very popular, as it's nearly impossible to get a tee time on short notice for weekends. But whether that will remain the case seems doubtful to me. They run special offers every three months so people can buy green fees for half price. Unfortunately, that's about all the course is worth right now.

The pro shop and restaurant are top-notch. The staff is very friendly. Unfortunately, the course is in very poor condition. Tees have many bare patches and holes, like the mushroom dollar spot on the greens. Alongside the fairways, everything has "shot up." There's a lot of clover and other weeds on the fairways. The worst, however, are the bunkers, dotted with tufts of grass. The course is quite challenging to play...
