Magnificent Golf Venue

Having a nearby relative I have played this magnificent course over several years. Big, spacious, high interest mature course, capable of hosting a major tournament, an hour inland from La Rochelle. Superb practice facilities, long driving range, large putting green, par 3 nine hole course all maintained to a high standard. Clubhouse bar is a real Chateau with patio overlooking the course and lakes. Take your camera/phone photos or people will not believe you.

Speaking only basic French, I found both staff and members helpful and accommodating, joining tournaments and the occasional social gathering.

There is a 500M walk to the pro-shop, and small, but if you go prepared, adequate changing facilities. Might seem quirkily French, but this is a real deal Chateau first, golf course added later.

Very Poor value

I booked a round for me and my son as a treat during our week in France and what a terrible waste of money. The staff were not very friendly, I requested before arriving to borrow clubs for myself, my son had brought his with us. I was given 6 clubs, none of which were the same make and all had worn out grips. I had no option but to share my son's junior clubs, not ideal. I am not sure what the charge for the clubs was but I think about €40! In all it cost me over €150 for an adult and a junior this was totally extortionate. The course was average at best, the facilities terrible, I would never go back and had this been in England or I had been able to speak French I would have complained and demanded my money back.
What was meant to be a treat for my son was a complete let down, avoid this place like the plague!

Most Beautiful Course

This golf course is located in one of the most amazing sites I have ever seen. The course is in good condition and the greens are perfect. There is an incredible château and restaurant located near the course, which made my experience there unforgettable. I cannot wait to go back there.

A lovely course but...

I had booked a time but had to walk, carrying clubs and clothes bag, about 500m from carpark to proshop. The staff were not very friendly or helpful; despite the blurb there were no electric trolleys to hire only normal pull trolleys which should anyway be provided in the carpark to save clients that long walk! There was a changing room, of sorts, but no lockers. There was a toilet, washbasins and shower unit – none of which were very pleasant, but there were no towels on offer & when I washed my hands later, there seemed to be no hot water either. This appeared to be a smart golf club, but to charge almost 50 euros for a round and offer facilities such as these, I find outrageous!
