Great landscape, beautiful golf - and MUCH too expensive.

Right in advance to the * world class *, according to the comment from skyrim. but this space is still missing a lot. great and beautiful surroundings or not, what is basically missing here is the finesse, the difficulties and the special challenge. The day after tomorrow you still know that the landscape was beautiful, but you hardly remember any special fairway. there is not a single * whoow * over the 18 holes.

the place is in good shape. the first 9 holes are rather flat (max 4 *). the second 9 are then more wavy, slightly hilly, a little more exciting and worth just under 5 *. the greens are nicely undulating and very playable. basically the place is fun.

only on the shady side: sand bunker rather rustic. Railway description is totally wrong and that is sometimes a problem without knowledge of the location - for example invisible bunkers, of which there are very many. But if you are playing halfway straight and have the right length (for the color of the tea), you will hardly see anyone from the inside. the place is not really demanding.

green fees have recently been increased significantly:
It was € 145 pp in June 2021 (Monday !!!) - if with lunch (good 2-course menu) plus € 20. whereas a draft beer (50cl) costs € 9… more expensive than at the oktoberfest!! the pricing in the restaurant is more pharmacy-like, even by french standards.

Conclusion: very nice golf (with defects that are not acceptable at this price level) at a (already on weekdays) rather steep price. real 5 * seats offer much more.

World Class

Former private club in beautiful nature. The 100 euro green fee during the week including scallops for lunch was definitely worth it, because you don't play such courses every day.

Fabulous: Golf de Fontainebleau

Have played the place on 20.07.17.
The official data according to the scorecard are:

Tee-off black: Sl. 137; 6.176 m
Tee-off white: Sl. 136; 6,188 m
Tee yellow: Sl. 133; 5.670 m
Tee blue: Sl. 137; 5.199 m
Tee red: Sl. 131; 4,823 m

It was designed by Tom Simpson and Fred Hawtree in 1909. Greens, fairways and paths were in excellent condition. The place comes without water hazards. The railways run without exception through the forest and the landscape - one or another oak was planted by historical figures (Louis XIV and others). In addition to numerous bunkers, increased slopes and ravines, it will not get boring. The price for 18 holes is: Mo.-Fr. 100, - € (recommended with lunch in the fashionable clubhouse 115, - €). Weekend and public holidays 120, - €.
