Enjoyable week of Golf

We managed to play both of the 18 hole courses and had a fabulous time. The courses were in excellent condition and all of the staff were so friendly and helpful. We tried the bar and lunch menus and these were just as good with lovely staff and great views of the course. Worth the visit and trying these courses.

45 holes mountain and valley in the border triangle

Played on 6/17/2021. The 45-hole course (1x PAR 73,1x PAR 70,1x PAR 31) is located in the middle of absolute tranquility and nature on Belgian territory, coming from Aachen approx. 17 km from the motorway and 7 km from the German border in the tri-border region. Belgians, Dutch and Germans meet here to play golf. You can say that it is hilly terrain. Those who are not that ambitious would do well to take a cart, which is what most of the players do here. I had already played and rated the “Charlemagne” course in 2015. Today I am rating the “Les Vivier” course (PAR 73) and the 9-hole “Chapelle” course (PAR 31). Les Vivier is mostly parkland through the heights. There are always very nice views of the area from elevated tees. Some doglegs and blind strokes occur. Despite the mostly open tees, you should play strategically more often and, above all, stay on the fairway. Dense rough and a lot of bushes make it difficult to find the ball. On the back nine, water also comes into play at 10 and 11. At 11 (PAR 3) the tee shot must sit over the water to the green. Well-placed bunkers increase the challenge. The tracks are basically varied, it never gets boring. Overall, the condition was okay, especially the greens were loyal and fast. The fairways were also good but had foreign growth here and there such as daisies, clover and thistles. The sand in the bunkers was sometimes very hard, making it difficult to get under the ball and through the sand. The 9-hole course can be played without a club membership. There are 7x PAR 3 (most of them are rather short) and 2x PAR 5 lanes. The haircuts are made from mats. Almost the entire course is sloping on a slope more or less behind and next to the driving range. On lane 6, I chipped a few range balls back onto the range, so be careful here. You can see a small chapel at tee 3 and thus know where the name of the place comes from. The “short course” is not bad for practicing the short and precise game. The greens are usually very small, which is a challenge. Due to the size of the entire 45-hole course, there is a certain bustle and players are running around everywhere. On both of my visits, especially when the weather was nice, it was always very crowded. A tee time reservation is therefore essential. I did this two weeks in advance using the form on the homepage and then immediately received an answer with a start time at the time I wanted at the place of my choice. However, I should then start as a single player behind two men's four-man flights. The nice Marshall sympathized with me and happily let me start before that. Flights, which I then ran into during the course of the round, let me play through quite quickly. Most golfers greeted them in a friendly manner and the atmosphere was rather relaxed. The lady at the counter was also very friendly and even let me play the 9-hole course for free after the round on the 18-hole course. The green fee of € 65 on weekdays for the 18-hole courses is appropriate, but is also at the upper limit. Unfortunately, my GolfFeeCard, which according to the GolfFeeCard International homepage should be good for a 50% discount, was not recognized. Allegedly the membership has been canceled. The clubhouse with restaurant makes a good and modern impression. The sanitary areas / changing rooms have probably been renovated in the meantime. The terrace at the clubhouse / tee 10 was well attended. If you want, you can stay overnight in the adjoining small hotel. Overall, I can safely recommend a visit.

Mass treatment

Not recommended, as there are excessive ups and downs, greens with many holes and fairways as well.

I look a little bit different

We played the Verviers Course at the end of September 2018 and say it this way: the system is leading the way in blind stuffs from tea, an eternal tiring up and down - lanes 5,6 and 13 are particularly annoying -, quite short, no Bahn really takes shape in the memory (maybe the 11 most likely). Nice views of the now not so exciting landscape on the lanes 14 and 17. Otherwise parkland-like parkland course meets orchard.

Very nice 45 hole course

Both 18 hole courses are in good condition and offer a lot of variety.
The driving range could be renewed, but the changing rooms were completely modernized this year.

Always worth a trip

The club lies between Aachen and Euren in the direct border area. Approach better via motorway towards Luettich. Navi unfortunately passes through Aachen and its suburbs over country roads. Perfectly embedded are both 18-hole course as well as the public 9-hole in the Ardennes. Eupen & Aachen quickly accessible. Hotel 3 stars, rooms are lovingly bright and friendly individually furnished. Reception multilingual and very friendly. Restaurants 1a. FRZ. Impact staff very good

Place was okay

Goods play there, the Secretariat very friendly and helpful, the challenging course was in good condition, except for the partially neglected Cartwege yesterday.

We definitely lacked signs Next tea, so you do not accidentally makes a different course.

The club house with a pleasant atmosphere, unfortunately the service staff came to our part before bored.

Coaster and menus throw on the table clouded the positive impression

Sporting mulitnationale challenge

The slightly hilly 45-hole course in Belgium not far from Aachen is easy to reach via the motorway and is located in absolute peace and nature. There is everything on offer what golfers need. The courts have rather Parkland character and some great trees, bushes and rough. It remains to play better on the fairway to his score. Higher HC should pack some balls more. The condition during my visit at 2.9. was on two 18-hole courses in order with small drawbacks on some deductions. Many greens exhibited pitch marks, for which, however, the club can not known. The club secretary I was served by friendly to the employee. The clubhouse with locker rooms is not all recent, but does the job. The green fee is reasonable. The operation at the plant on a Wednesday afternoon was brisk, as a place was first occupied by a tournament. The players are international and in English it is also nice to talk to the members.

My Favorite

One of the most beautiful golf courses in the Ardennes. I can confirm from my own experience.

Great views!

The two 18-hole courses are in very good condition! The 9-hole course "La Chapelle" could use a little more care, bunkers and tees are apparently often somewhat "neglected".
The par-72 course "Les Viviers" is the cream of the system! Very well maintained, albeit with differences in altitude! Who is not so good to walk should take better care of an E-Shop! However, an offer miles of fabulous views, which already can distract from a game!
The par-70 course "Charlemagne" is also very well maintained, even if it is somewhat overshadowed by the "big" square. It is a little easier to play but also not to be underestimated! Several very short par 4 lanes to facilitate a total score despite also hilly terrain.
The overall impression of this facility is very good and recommend to anyone who wants to play a fun and / or challenging place!

Repeatedly

I have played the system this week under adverse weather conditions. It is noted from my side that the system still in pristine condition was (Vivier course).
A particular concern is me, the staff in the Secretariat emphasized, as the two women act very customer oriented and highly sought. I had to break the round of 9 holes due to time constraints (our son was hospitalized with acute appendicitis), my half of the green fees and this was replaced without any request on my part.
Thanks again for the pleasant round also to the fellow player who has accompanied me.

Charming residence in beautiful nature

Top location in every way, very well maintained greens.
The fairways (9 1x / 2x 18) offer the golfer in any combination an exceptional golf experience.
Increased discounts, discounts on water, doglegs to the right and left, greens, elevated greens "in" Water, water and sand hazards, the partially interesting ondolierten fairways, green or defense to make the game a wonderful experience.
The 9 hole course is a very good training ground, but the two 18 places require a precise game and are more suited for the experienced golfer.
Price - performance ratio absolutely okay Training area, office, pro-shop give an impression 1A.
The Gasatronomie is exellent and gives a friendly, relaxing atmosphere.
