Characteristics

The golf course is located only about 30 minutes southeast of Munich. Its moraine landscape, which is typical of Upper Bavaria, permits varied fairways whose hilltops repeatedly afford players views of a stunning chain of Alpine peaks. Spacious greens, tricky obstacles and water hazards, an old tree population, and meticulous course maintenance characterize the course's spacious fairways. A modern restaurant with fresh regional cuisine surrounded by a sun terrace and beer garden invite you to linger here after you've finished playing your round.

The club is located in the village of Unterelkofen near Schloss Elkofen, which is one of the best preserved castles in Upper Bavaria and is still both maintained and inhabited by the Rechberg-Rothenlöwen family.

The entire team is committed to achieving a perfectly maintained course surrounded by an attractive ambience and a friendly and a pleasant atmosphere that can be felt everywhere you turn. Their prizewinning work with children and youths confirms the fact that our club also is an ideal contact point for golfing families.

Sophisticated and well maintained.

A magnificent course whose new greens (from 2022) are very fast and pleasantly on track. Being able to read them helps a lot with putting. Some of the varied fairways are tree-lined and it gets hilly in between. Sending a pre-caddy on lanes 16 and 17 is advisable when playing these for the first time. Lanes 5 and 9 (as well as the club terrace) offer beautiful views of the mountains of the Alps. The tees and greens were all flawless and even the fairways had retained a fairly fresh color despite the persistently dry and warm weather, but facilitated a longer roll, so that we were both able to play our handicap in Elkofen (under). We liked the place all the better. Incidentally, you can already get past the clubhouse after the 5th, but not after the 9th hole, which is outside. There is a hut with a toilet where, as I already know, there is warm and excellent halfway support during ongoing tournaments. For members of the Munich Circle, the hospitable 18-hole round costs €40. We can only recommend every golfer (m/f) to get an impression of the excellent condition of the game in Elkofen, if possible also at different times of the year. By the way, in late summer/autumn you can collect mushrooms off the course and in summer the nearby Steinsee is recommended for swimming, if you don’t just want to play golf in this beautiful area.

Top golf

Right away, I'm a huge fan of this golf course.

The entire facility is very well maintained and in top condition, there are good exercise facilities and a good restaurant.

But now to the real heart of a golf club, namely the course.

The course is varied to play and one of the few golf courses I know where every hole is really fair. There are no "impossible" shots to master here.

Despite the extreme drought, the course is still in top condition.

If I lived nearby, the place would be a strong candidate for my home place.
