Nice scenery, bad fairways

18 holes with the Leitha mountains in the background, nice scenery for a twilight greenfee.

I suppose this course differs much from one season to the other. I played in early autumn and almost all the water hazards were completely gone (dried up). The fairways were very bad, large pieces of fairway were repaired with new grass roles. The greens had lots of pitchmarks but were quite fast, most greens were flat as a pancake.

All together the lay-out was OK and several holes had very nasty rough. The DR was quite large. The clubhouse looked nice standing on poles as the Neusiedlersee propably rises in the spring.

Worth the twilight greenfee, I suppose this course is best played in late spring or early summer.

It's okay, but only okay.

You come to the golf course and you will be greeted very friendly!
Reception very, very friendly, restaurant very pretty and the staff courteous, friendly and super fast with the service.
To the place:
Fairways are varied and basically okay.
The greens are also fine and easy to play.
The bunkers are well maintained and playable.
Nobody can do anything about the fact that the place is dry, it's simply due to the weather.
The tee boxes are sometimes really bad and the condition of the paths between the lanes is very bad. As I said dry okay, but it should be invested a little in maintenance away from the fairways and in the tee boxes.
After the round you can eat really well at fair prices. Here is again the very quick and friendly staff to be highlighted.
All in all okay, but the place needs a little TLC.

Gladly again

After a pause of about a year, we ended up in Donnerskirchen again and we didn't regret it.
Great place in the shot, greens this time as fast as an arrow, fairways flawless, space presented itself in a top condition.
Unfortunately the "shit" of the gray geese (?), Which was unpleasant on some fairways and especially on the green of the par 3, the 14th fairway, was disturbing.

Flat, challenging place

Had luck, because little wind, The Yellow of 5.957 m long course impresses with interesting fairways which are framed by plenty of water and reed belts. The most beautiful hole for me was the serpentine reptile par 5 of the 13th.
Great also hole 4.
Fairways partly with bald spots, greens not particularly undulating, difficult to read but not too fast.
Nice restaurant and secretary!

Cute Round

Did not really want to play in Donnerskirchen, but my wife suggested this golf course. I'm glad that she usually prevails, otherwise I would never have met this very beautiful and well maintained place. Very interesting trains, staff very courteous and restaurant highly recommended. We'll be back for sure.

Great place - little going on

I played the evening before a holiday and it was wonderful. Little people, very good condition of the fairways. Front 9 are good to settle in, Back 9 with more challenge and water, ...
Due to the many water hazards and the approaching dusk you are unfortunately attacked by mosquitoes. Partially difficult to concentrate so fully. The cockchafers on the last 5 holes were also very active.
Generally the place is very close to nature.
Hole 2 - hedgehogs foraging, hole 5- geese and ducks, hole 12-14 - geese
That's why I felt very comfortable

Rewarding place with a lot of water

The course is located in the reed belt of the Neusiedler See and is therefore good to play in the summer. Along many holes water / reeds, but the fairways are usually sufficiently wide for a pleasant game. The course is overall very nice to play, rather flat and often with wind.
On most lanes little contact with other fairways, but more geese and ducks than spectators.

Quite well

Around Vienna there are many nicer places. The condition is so well, easy to play, many ducks and geese on the fairways, the biggest challenge in this place is not to step into their shit.

Put a lot of balls!

The GC Donnerskirchen is located in Burgenland, almost in Drivedistanz to Lake Neusiedler. The front 9 are very easy to play, there are hardly any changes in direction. The back 9 increases continuously with water and reeds. Spoiled balls are then almost always punished with a loss of ball, as full concentration is required. The holes 11 - 14 are true ballfressmonster but surely the highlight of the course. The practice area is generous, the club house from the plant very nice - but clearly in the years come. A renovation would certainly be appropriate. Carts are available, dogs allowed in the place. From the state of care the place is in good shape, but whether it justifies the current Greenfeepreis, is set. We were lucky enough to play the course in overcast conditions. In the summer, the course had to be extremely strenuous, there was hardly any shade.

Great Golfing Experience

The course is an hour's drive east of Vienna close to Lake Neusiedl and of a nature reserve.
The reception at the Secretariat is extremely friendly, advancing the start time no problem.
The Range is generously that grass tees top, just putting green and short game area. The place is well maintained, fairways, rough first cuts and immaculate, the greens soft and fast - golfer's heart what you want more...
The landing areas are wide, but you should stay on the fairways, because the left and right lurking reeds, bushes and water. On many holes small ponds or watercourses come into play - Boredom is not.
The back nine are also varied due to the layouts, each with 3 par 3,4 and 5 lanes and meander along water and head-high reeds, precision is required. The final par 5 rewarded me even with a birdie.
The restaurant is good, prices low, the service fits.
You feel totally at ease, whether in the office or restaurant, the players or court workers, everyone is super friendly.
... And the best part of the great day of golf: green fee weekdays there for the bargain price of 50, - €.

Klein Grado

Granted, playing at 34.5 degrees is a little bit crazy, moreover, about noon. But in Donnerskirchen you will be compensated for it: A pleasant brise plays around on a very well maintained course that is fair and fast greens has, but they are never really malicious. Reed only comes into play if you missed the really wide fairways or strategically not playing optimally. One feels to northern Italy, Grado, offset however is the local place to play much harder. To me the place was more than friendly, but when the wind - and in this area is almost always a companion - is the place safe poisonous.
Particularly striking are the friendly Leut here: Secretariat, Marshall, teammates. You really feel at home here, guests plumbing is not the fanciest, but very clean and well maintained. You can only recommend if you are traveling by golfing in Burgenland, moreover, where space does not seem too booked.

Reed wherever you look

The proximity to Lake Neusiedl and thus the reed beds characterize the place. Actually, you would need no longer to be considered the classic golf obstacles. The place has been but very good and carefully integrated into the landscape. The mild Pannonian climate makes the rounds very relaxing.

The place is but quite demanding and requires very precise game. Finding the balls in the reeds is virtually impossible. The layout of the place is very good and the greens are well maintained. Although the course is completely on the ground, each hole offers beautiful visual impressions, not least because of the surrounding rolling hills of Lake Neusiedl.

The clubhouse was a bit raised and is already a little long in the tooth.

Conclusion: a relaxed yet exciting day of golf amidst typical landscape of Burgenland. And they are all very friendly at the club. Definitely worth a trip.

Among the reeds

The Neusiedler See is through the reeds surrounding the golf course, with privacy, yet you play virtually on the lake. With all the rain, drying out a not in danger. Well manicured fairways and excellent greens are very fast and thus also difficult to play.

Through the many water, the difficulties increase to play this course. Search Balls is a wasted effort.

The club house in a beautiful location, slightly elevated, would use a care.

Successful new edition

Golf Course:
On the front nine, it's just right there, surrounded again by some reeds or trees. The Back Nine will often meander through dense reed beds, which can easily punish aggressive game.

Location status:
Untreated fairways, but to play well. The greens are rock hard - to post a pitch mark, you should drop the ball even from a great height.
The front fairways are a little dried out, on the back it's because of the water near always something "swampy".

Start time of booking:
no problem

Conclusion:
A very nice, challenging course with the typical Burgenland vegetation. Whoever strays from the path will lose one or the other over the reeds.

Reed, Rough, Water, Wind, ... Links Golf in Burgenland

We play on the links course-like place regularly at the foot of the Leitha Mountains, which due to the Pannonian climate almost all year round also.

At first glance the place may seem easy because of the flat surface and the distance, but he has a sly and behind the ears or in the reeds, in the rough, in the water, and so on.
The place is not easy to play, because reeds, thick roughs, water, wind and extremely fast greens the players do not make it easy.
Fortunately, one when the adjacent reeds are cut - otherwise a ball goes astray is hopelessly lost or unplayable.
The fairways are - similar to a links course - natural. Thus, the demands of the nature reserve and equitable. This should not be confused with a bad maintenance state.
Everywhere on the site lurking bunkers or water hazards (especially on the back nine). Accuracy is therefore advantageous. Not for nothing that the place has a slope 130s. For the space you need a strategy game adapted to the weather conditions - pure sculpting plan is not rewarded with security here.

Wonderful exercise facility with a three-hole practice course at the clubhouse, two large practice greens (1x and 1x at the clubhouse of the range) and large driving range.
Drinks vending machine is also at the driving range and in close proximity to the 1st tee and 10th To quench thirst in between there are also a few water dispenser on the course.

Staff in the club office (with built golf shop) and the restaurant was very friendly and informal. Food also very tasty and also one or two of local wine should be tasted here.
