One of the best courses if that's the only one you play regularly ;-)

Played golf in good amount locations around the world so my perspective is pretty wide. Lugano is one of the courses you want if you have to play it over and over again. Extreme variety testing your whole game, length, precision, draw and fade both ways, short game, carry, it has everything. Due to that, very difficult to shoot a good round, e'thing has to be on but on the other hand, you are never bored. No blind holes or unfair punishment however so the course hands you back a fair but stern scorecard. wonderfully maintained and in bloom vegetation is stunning. Restaurant is nice & for CH reasonably priced. Rounds if not member decently expensive but it's CH for you and one of the nicer clubs, if you want to save $ and don't care for the quality, drive over to Italy. Staff are Ticinesi, hence extremely friendly unless you make a point of being very German or English @ which point in time you may end up being served off brusquely as a brute so behave ;-) In short,

Absolutely!

Played 18 holes today, June 5th, 2023. Great old parkland course, well-kept tees, fairways and greens, spacious, no unimaginative back and forth arrangement of the fairways; the Magliasina river is crossed or overplayed a total of 6 times. Numerous sculptures (with explanations) adorn the course. Good practice facilities. Please come in time, the way from the reception to the first tea is usually far. Relatively well-stocked pro shop, good restaurant. The club is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year. Congratulations!

Tricky place and warm welcome

Course is in very good condition and plays very well over the cold months. The layout calls for precise tees and precise and long iron strokes.
You quickly feel at home in Lugano because you are greeted warmly at reception. You can finally enjoy the hospitality in the restaurant. So far we have always eaten very well and, above all, have always been served in a very friendly manner. We like to come back often.

Space condition okay, nothing more

The course wasn't really ready yet, but the winter was rather long, okay I can cope with my decision to play, but I think that on a Monday when the greens were still aerated, CHF 130 is taken regularly, I think it's rather high.
Otherwise, yes, old parkland place has more charm when everything is in bloom

Great Place

I played the course on November 18,2020. For this time of year the fairways and the very fast greens were in very good condition. Partly very narrow space and also dangerous. I never heard anyone shout, although a number of balls landed a little close to us. The food on the terrace was very good. Exercise facility because of the limited space no longer meets today's requirements.

Ticino stop...

The course is a good old golf course in the old parkland style, which has just achieved 4 stars for me, Ascona is better for me! Everything very well maintained and good! The “Swiss cloak of silence” is placed over the amount of the green fee, 150 CHF - a joke!
In the rest of Europe such a beautiful old place crates 70-90 € Fee!

An old campo...

... Golf was already played here in 1923, the club is still a few years older.

Donald Harradine built it - first 9 holes and later another 9 holes. The last works a few years ago at holes 15,16 and 17 are very positive.

It's an old Campo, has one or the other Macke, that's part of it.

That the training opportunities do not meet today's requirements is so. This applies to over 50% of all clubs, we speak of 30 years of experience.

The Percorso is not that heavy, the Bucas are not that long. Nevertheless, he is interesting. The brook - the Magliasina - can spoil the game several times if the ball is hit badly - target golf is compulsory.

Especially drives and good strokes into the green are necessary if you want to play his part.

It is a good and beautiful Campo - with a beautiful old trees, which is now and then in the game.

For the first time in 1993 we played a round and were often on the trip to the south here to represent the feet.
We were always happy with the care and upkeep of the Campo - he is not top but good.

The clubhouse deserves praise from us. The experience with the staff are here much better than north of the Ceneri!

It was great fun.

Lugano can be found in the extended list of the top 10 on Top 20.

Very bad

Small field, continuous dangerous intersections between holes with risk for the players.
Bad British coponic empire style environment. On costs I lay a pitiful veil. Just across the border there are 20 best courses spending half.

Place average - service bad

The place is fine - layout, care, etc. Only the location of the driving range is miserable. Since you have to plan from tee 1 and back alone to run more than 15 minutes. That without any information 3 holes were put on winter greens and for which no discount was granted, however, is a no-go. For that one would actually have to deduct a star...

Beautiful place, well maintained

One or other challenge is offered by narrow fairways, many bunkers, a mountain stream and difficult-to-read greens. It's fun to play him. Fairways and greens are well maintained. The facility around the clubhouse is however already longer. Greenfee 110, - SFR.

Arrogance and rip

The course is in good condition. The staff was rude and condescending. Green fee at the border. But for an Electro 80 francs borders on usury. Too bad for the beautiful location. You should take an example at the Golf Club Varese.

Insightful...

Lugano was a positive surprise, because even a few years ago it was to swing as ASGI player virtually impossible the clubs. Now they are flexible and accommodating - thank you!
The course was presented in excellent condition and plays not very long, but precision is required...
19th Hole on the terrace was worth the beer - we definitely come back because Magliaso is an interesting alternative if you are looking for a golf course nearby (and does not want to Italy).

Wau a very very nice place

For me, a top place, I played her in July 2014. I like the place very well. It is not easy to play but for better HCer a great challenge. It is expensive but worth it.

Beautiful spring golf

We played the square today. On Wednesdays the T-Time requested by email and promptly received a start time. CHF 130 .-- green fee price for Saturday at a private club I find fine.

Welcome at reception friendly and efficient execution.

The course is for the season already in a very good condition. Fairways are rather narrow and require accurate play. Greens are all in good condition and to play fair.

Pastas in the restaurant were excellent.

A beautiful facility and a successful golf day, we can recommend at any time.

Super Nice!

Have this place on 3 May 2014 played-usually the green fees on weekends 130 - / since we have spent the night in the partner hotel principe leopoldo only 80 -. Super tree was beautiful, very well maintained, beautiful flowers, narrow fairways, rather flat but varied. Definitely book early: very slow game ... :-) I play here again for 130-CHF!

Great place, unprofesionelle organization

We have the space on 4/5 July 2013 played twice during a tournament series of major car manufacturer. Apart from the unfavorable season for golf in this region and the temperatures of 32 degrees, pesky mosquitoes that are resistant to any means, the place was in good condition and is very nicely laid out with lots of nature and a challenge for any golfer.
However, the organization has in the club to be desired. T-Time is not booked for the practice round despite written request, incorrect scorecard at the tournament, no tea at a price of CHF 110, - per person, etc., etc.
The food in the restaurant was good however.
Only 3 stars even though the place itself deserves due to the unprofessional total power 4.5 stars

Great Golfing Experience

Great course with some narrow fairways. Played on a perfect summer day.
Professional greeting and overall organization.
The quality of food in a great club house is in a bad relationship to the price.

Ok, but expensive

So, one arrives and reads that the clubhouse was paid by Messrs. Beisheim and hoarding, 2 German, have made us to go well in Ticino.
The front desk was very friendly and helpful, but then, 80 SFR for a 9 hole round, fairly steep, but here again the relativizing truth, in the parking lot only the best of the best vehicles. since what is just behind it.
Now to the court, although 7:11 2012 is the place and summer care, lightning fast greens (2 Put are per suspect) the fairways are excellent, but you should make sure of Club page on the divots back down and repair the pitch marks, but then come back the vehicles and prestige of the game...
Should also be noted that the changing rooms are very clean and well maintained and the restaurant is a good, albeit expensive (as) has offer.
Is worth a visit every now and again.
