Very sad experience of what was once a great course.

Newly furbished facilities and doctoring of the once very challenging golf course made our experience quite disappointing.
No friendliness, receptionist who was difficult and unhelpful, and golf which now is designed, it seems, to flatter its generally very rich clients.
We will no longer play this course, which was one of our all-time favourites, as it is overpriced and lacking in the wild character it always had, which we thoroughly enjoyed. The course now smacks of 'corporate' golf, and has missed the point in all its attempts at going upmarket.
Sorry, guys, but the changes on the course are not for the good...
We will not be returning any time soon.

I visited Leuk and it's unlike any course in Switzerland.
The fine grass type and the undulating feel of the course reminded me of a scottish links even if there was no sea nearby! I liked the Par 3's particularly the water hole Nr. 14 and unlike the previous reviewer I thought the greens were really fun and interesting, particularly the 10th and 13th Quite a few holes are confronted with water - I particularly enjoyed the 15th which needed a full carry from the Tee to cut the corner off the fairway.
Definitly worth the visit.

Insufficient

Played the course in Leuk a few days ago and were surprised and disappointed with the condition of the course. The greens were a disaster. The fairways were littered with stains, brown spots and even dissolving grass. We were not informed about the condition of the course before the game. Given the condition of the course, the green fee was not nearly worth its price. I only rate the place here, everything else is great.

Very nice place

I played the course for the first time today on 10/10/2021. It was very well maintained and the heavily undulating greens were pleasantly quick. Reminded me a lot of the Scottish links courses, also with the wind (up to 2 iron difference). The locals in the flight helped me to play the holes tactically correctly and to play the greens appropriately in order to make the putting more successful. Depending on the flag position, more than 2 putts are required.
Contrary to the club description, I noticed that there is a practice area for chipping and pitching. This can be found next to the driving range and has been redesigned.
The clubhouse was also rebuilt and the food is very good there.
The staff was friendly although busy.
I found the place varied and very beautiful! If it weren't so expensive for me, I would play it more often.

Great variety

We played the course on August 21. Of course, this is not an original links course - but the character is there and it is a lot of fun. Very well maintained, exciting greens, nice people, great terrace. What more do you want?

Interesting links course for Swiss standards

Played the course for the first time at the end of June. Maintenance condition was good. Would only play the course in the morning, as the wind has too much influence in the afternoon. Of course, special mention should be made of the greens, which have never been seen so undulating in Switzerland. That was really a huge challenge (HC 12). The clubhouse is totally modern and the restaurant is also recommended. Any time.

Hot hotter...

We played the course last week. Unfortunately, the basic conditions were not quite optimal, because it was very hot and there was no wind at first. Actually, the design of the place is very interesting, but the condition was sub-optimal. Lots of weeds on the fairway, the greens partly in bad condition. Bunkers on a "left course" should actually look different. As reported years ago, there was no nice sand, but rather gravel... because you did not even want to play out of the bunker. Because of the heat, it would have been good if there had been opportunities to refill the water bottles during the round... we did not find any, which did not improve the whole thing then. Short summary: Platzdesign interesting, price-performance not optimal.

Where is the Links Course?

With great expectations we have come here. We had already played Crans and were in the area. Therefore, we wanted to use the time to play in Leuk. Unfortunately, the course is designed rather boring. The only thing we could see from a links course was the steady wind that sweeps through the valley. Many moats make the golfer a hard time. The ground is hard, bounce balls and roll in all directions. For the high HCPs in our flight, it was very difficult. The place is okay but an extra trip to the Valais it is not value. The Secretariat was very accommodating, the clubhouse is reminiscent of a temporary attachment, which is not be so bad. Unfortunately, the staff was very rude in the restaurant. Very long waits, staff is unmotivated. As we were eating, other guests were even angekeift and loudly reprimanded. So what we have never experienced. As German Vacation golfers we were shocked pity.

Interesting place

I have played the course for the first time. The clubhouse looks like a factory. Beautiful is different, but it is practical. The staff were friendly. We ate well. I find the place interesting and varied, and with a lot more natural than it looks from the "outside". Only the initial orbits along the street are a bit noisy. The undulating greens are challenging and speed moderately ok, but should be a bit faster. The Birdie Book needs to be revised to make it really useful and the 5 Fr is worth. All in all, I can recommend the place.

Slow greens and bunkers bad

I played the course in Autumn with great expectation (Links Course). Unfortunately, I was disappointed because the greens were slow and the bunker to play with very poor quality of sand. The bunkers are more likely to play as in a gravel pit in the sand. The clubhouse is functional but not the eyes. The tracks are varied and usually require a precise game, but the fairways are very special. The fairways are not evenly covered with grass, weeds, some of them very much, sometimes despite good tee has the consequence that the ball is to play bad..

Exciting and windy round in Valais

We played the course this September for the first time: exciting and never boring!

The place is easy to find. Clubhouse and reception are functional, but not the eyes. Driving range is good. Price of a green fee was estimated at CHF 100 - based on gameplay in order. Trolley tokens and are extra.

The course was in very good condition and comes very close to a links course. The fairways are created varied and always provide a real challenge again dar. The fairways are narrow and sometimes very hard to be so precise that played. The jump balls and roll far.

The greens were in very good condition and must be played with a lot of Chill. High balls hardly hold; Chip & Run is better. When putting the greens were a little slower than expected (compared to Crans or Lausanne, which we played in the same week).

The wind is a constant companion on this place. Towards the end of the round it was almost too much. Ideal as an exercise in front of a golf trip to Scotland :-)

Pseudo Links Course

We have played the golf course in Leuk Susten some time ago. The gameplay was only conditionally, as it had in Beaufort wind force 5 That alone would be acceptable, were it not for these greens. That's pretty much the blödste and meanest thing I've ever seen. With golf greens in the usual sense has nothing to do anyway. Too bad, because the fairways were actually quite nice.
