Rather not

For the first time in my golf life I didn't finish a paid for round!
Holes to Southwest of clubhouse are okay, but all holes to Northeast are no fun, badly maintained, no grass on greens, huge weeds on fairways, everything work in progress. Course should be a 9 hole, awaiting improvement on remaining holes. Extremely long walks between some holes. Course layout bizarre.

Golf course currently (March 2024) unfortunately not in top shape...

Beautifully designed holes... exciting to play... you should rent a golf cart because of the ups and downs... great views of the Atlantic while playing... few players enable quick play...

but: golf carts old and rickety... facility - probably for financial reasons - not in good condition... the large hotel on the edge of the golf course, which with its guests was probably supposed to help finance the game operations, is closed... There is scrap at one hole (e.g. mowers) and it smells... the price is too high in my opinion for the condition and the service...

Presumably the condition of the golf course, including the golf carts and clubhouse, will be much better when the hotel on the edge of the golf course reopens and there are more paying guests...

Successful course design where some money and love is missing ;)

I am an ambitious golfer with a handicap under 5 and regularly play golf in Scotland, Spain and Italy. This place is a must for anyone who knows anything about golf.
Layout 1, fairways 2-3 (in Germany a 2), greens is unfortunately the big weakness of the course... too many holes and also a bit slow.
I would play again in a heartbeat and it is worth the money... if the care was better you would easily have to pay twice as much.

Golf at the junkyard

Greens partly good. That was it, 84 € and 38 € for the buggy. The paths are such a disaster that the rickety buggy was almost torn apart. Empty hotel complexes then complete the ambience. Scorched earth, scrap behind every wall - for a moment we thought the Ludolfs had emigrated and were now running a golf course. Staff probably do the best with what they have. I advise against it, even if it can be played, it shouldn't be called a golf course. 11.2023.

Jandia Golf, March 2023

Jandia Golf is a very beautiful and varied 18-hole course. Some tracks really with "oha" effect!
If you are fit, you can walk the course in about 4 hours as a single player with a trolley. The fairways are in top condition, the few bunkers are unfortunately only filled with gravel. It's better to take it easy on the clubs here.
Unfortunately, the Jandia Golf Hotel on the side of the course is deserted and makes a somewhat sad impression.
The green is spotty in places, but the even surface makes it easy to putt.
With a green fee of €78, the course is an eventful one to play!

Better than expected

We were in this place five times in January 2023. The design is awesome. Every track something new. You have a beautiful view of the sea on almost every track. Not recommended on foot.
Why only 3 stars: The green is in a very bad condition.
Intended for play only.

'll Be back!

We played the course more than 6 times in January 2023: absolutely relaxed playing because there were only a few flights. The fairways in great condition, the greens as a patchwork quilt. The course is wonderful and varied. Buggy a must, even if you are fit (sometimes long distances from the green to the tee). All in all, a really recommendable place! There are 4 stars for Fuerteventura, because not comparable with Tenerife, for example.

Sad

We were on Fuerte in November 2021 and played all 4 golf courses on the island. None of the four comes even close to the places on Tenerife and Gran Canaria. If you are planning a pure golf vacation on Fuerteventura, you should better reschedule.
The Jandia Golf Club takes 4th out of 4th place in our ranking.
You can tell everywhere that the money is missing. The fairways are partly arable, the area full of rubble and rubbish.
The adjacent golf hotel has gone bankrupt.
Almost all fairway bunkers are overgrown, which makes the fairways look even less spectacular.
If you still want to play this course, you should take a cart and lots of balls with you.
If no investor comes, we won't give this place 2 more years until it dies.

Dry and windy but the place is fun

I played the course several times on vacation in November in 2019 and 2020. Given the drought and lack of water on the island, the place is in an acceptable condition for me. The greens are damn fast, the fairways are usually grass, although not always green. The wind is a big factor depending on the direction of play. A Par4 then feels like a Par5 and you can also lie on a Par5 with the second shot on the green. The view down through the valley to the blue sea is really fun.

There are a few spectacular greens to play over ditches. However, next to the fairways there are often stone fields that are not an out or penalty area. I wouldn't want to use my clubs there, either you lay the ball better or bring some old wedge with you to knock the ball out of there.
The course has a lot of height difference, it is one of the few places where I, as a physically fit golfer, decided to play on a golf cart the second time after the first time on foot, because it was really strenuous on foot in the sun. But there are players there too who walk it. When I was there, there was really little going on every time, I was always able to play alone and actually never had a flight ahead of me. That is also a factor that I think is good for the course, a lot of income could not have flowed in the period in which I played, but the course was more than okay.

On the negative side, I have to report that the green fee is rather high. Especially when you have to borrow golf carts and clubs. The clubs I got were old and in bad shape. Some of the balls on the range were also broken, that is not possible. The gastronomy is simple and I even had a slight clash with the young (bitchy) lady at the reception, because I was promised a discount when booking three green fees over the phone, which was no longer available on site.

Played on 6/23/21

Hello I played the course despite the bad reviews so I accepted the challenges and I'm not sorry to have had the experience So the course was playable and in good condition, the greens were well maintained without defects, the ball ran quickly and cleanly over the greens So the workers do their job as well as possible for a golf course with the conditions I had to struggle with the wind that is typical for the region, even my ball danced at times on the T or he simply said goodbye to the T too On the greens, the wind likes to make itself felt and the ball does its own thing. However, the space is tight in some places so that you should be able to play your strokes carefully and cleanly and not take full risk because the place does not forgive mistakes and punish them right away. A ditch meanders across the entire golf course in the middle, which also comes into play on one lane or the other and can be a challenge. There are many bunkers, not just a few water hazards and ditches, but I would play the course again and indulge myself in the luxury of the EKart that goes up and down and sometimes longer up and down.
The challenge of every golf course is that you should adapt to it as well as the climate as well as the weather conditions and the daily form of everyone that makes golf in my eyes and not just your hcp But what I don't understand are the comments here when I am in I drive a country where water is in short supply and hardly any rain falls in the year and then the heat does not make it any better or easier for the people and the place. Now what do I ask for a green oasis from the plant?
If everything was nice and green as some would like it would be a lot of maintenance, work, infrastructure etc. and these costs then we finance the players in part and the price would then be many times more expensive but then some people would complain about the price you can't make it right ehhh

Bad place for a lot of money, man / woman doesn't need it

January-February 2021

After playing the other three courses on Fuerteventura, I wanted to play the one in Jandia as well.
A friend advised against it, as this place is not well-kept and is therefore much too expensive.
We played this course anyway, I should have saved myself / us.
As already described by other golfers, I don't have to repeat that.

I've never played such a lousy and bad course, we stopped after a few holes.
A star is still flattered!

Exciting, demanding, well-groomed in a great environment

As a German, I have been a member of the club for 4 years. Know and play the course in all seasons often and with the greatest pleasure.
This course has everything you could wish for in terms of challenges and degrees of difficulty, and all in a fantastic location.
Of course, the space available is very different depending on the season, but it is always easy to play. Fuerteventura has 30-40 rainy days a year!!! So green from November to June and rather dry in the summer time, because you cannot get by with intensive irrigation across the board. But is that different in our dry summer?
Holes 2,3, 7,11 - 13 are sensational to play with their different heights and often side winds and require a sure instinct. Exact play doesn't hurt. :) :) :) The best place Fuerte has to offer.

Fuerteventura

The site is located in a valley with a wide ditch that winds through the entire site. The course suffered from the extreme drought in Fuerteventura. It hasn't rained in 5 months. Nevertheless, it still has grass and is playable. The greens were mostly good. There are very few bunkers and little sand in it. The tees must be placed well because of the wide ditch. The trench comes into play at practically every hole, either at the fairway or in front of the green. A car is recommended as there are large distances between the green and the next tee. The paths are rocky and not very easy to walk.
The restaurant doesn't deserve the name. We had to ring a window that had been converted into a temporary switch. The drink was then passed through the window.
Fuerteventura is not a dream island for golfers, that's why my title.

Unkempt golf course

The state of care leaves a lot to be desired. Some of the signposts to the individual fairways are missing, no ball washing stands on the fairways and no racket cleaning options. The greens are all in poor condition. The course can only be played with a car because the distances to the individual tees are very long. Gastronomy and pro shop can be forgotten. In a word the space is only expensive and therefore not recommended.

Great greens

The hilly course created in a valley, impresses with excellent, fast greens. Fairways well maintained, tee boxes usually increased, the way from green 10 to tee 11 is far and almost reminiscent of a climbing. On foot, the place is exhausting but possible.
The most beautiful and difficult hole is the 2, from the elevated tee goes from White 416 m first towards the lower fairway and then towards the raised green, which is protected by a ravine. With strong tailwind and hard fairways a long tee is possible.
Place well to get a good score but you have to play the course several times.
For me the most beautiful place of Fuerteventura!

Beautiful Place

A buggy is recommended unless you are very good on foot. Green fairways and well kept greens. Partly accurate play is required.
Have played the course 3 years ago before, since then he is once again what the condition is better. Very friendly and helpful staff. We were on the cheaper rate from 14 o'clock pointed and gladly the time waited and a coffee drunk.

Well maintained area, gladly again.

We played the course twice during the week from 1.2.-8.2.2019. We were pleasantly surprised at the place itself, and the condition was very good. There was nothing wrong with the pitch marks on the greens. The location of the place in a mountain valley with views of the Atlantic Ocean is awesome. The course is very varied and not easy for beginners. Especially the train 2 with the increased green and its protection with a directly in front but not visible water hazard has it all.

Unfortunately, there is a German pro on this course who probably forgot the label rules over the years. This arrogant Heinz (that's what he really means) should once question what he does to his employer with his behavior to golfers. That does not work and we do not want to say more.

The care in the clubhouse and the front desk were very friendly and accommodating.

We will be back.

Interesting, varied and relaxed

During a 10-day holiday I played three laps on the court. During the German summer holidays seems to be only secondary season. This is noticed by the few players, but not by the condition of the course. Greens were in a very good condition, fairways naturally dry and partially brown. Away from the fairways island-type small stones, which I did not want my own brought iron. On a volcanic island, I would expect nothing else, on the contrary.

Cart is recommended in any case, since the distances between the holes are not just pedestrian-friendly. Curious appears the price model, have paid for the same performance different prices. Since it was always cheaper, I did not complain :-)

Hole 2 is a test with the higher green at the beginning of the round. The 13 has also been remembered.

The clubhouse did not really linger.

Overall a place that I would play again at any time.

Friendly recording

Very friendly and "German speaking" club secretary.
Everything explained well. Note on aerating and sanding the Green`s, and therefore you get 50% on the greenfee. Also the reference to the reduction was given from 2 pm.
A golf cart is recommended at 18 holes, there are partly steep paths.
The course itself is dependent on the HCP not so easy to play. Narrow paths through water channels (dry) but also gorges and AUS markings by hotel restriction.
The driving range is right next to the clubhouse. 32 balls for 2 €. Rental Clubs available in standard length from Callaway, TaylerMade or a NoName brand.

All in all, the place was in a neat condition.
And, of course, there is not unlimited water to irrigate, everyone should be aware that this is not the case during long summers in Germany and Fuerteventura is "summer" all year round.

I'm going to turn round again next summer.

Difficult "hillgolf" in great surroundings

In the past 4 years I have been playing at different seasons, which is why I got to know the island - typical seasonal variations of the plains: From top courses with good fairways and fast beautiful greens in winter and spring till dry grassy vegetation on stony ground and dry, slow greens Summer and autumn, everything is possible here. As always on Fuerte you are almost alone in the summer and in the winter it can be a long time until you have the round (kart is also recommended for people who are well-fed are recommended). All in all a challenging place where you should play exactly and with brains and at the same time enjoy sensational views.

(Cross) Golf on Fuerteventura

In February my son and I played a round in this "special" place. Luckily with Cart, otherwise we would probably not have been back in time before dark. Some tracks are really pretty bad, others are really fun. It often goes up and down. Partially these are often confusing close together. The signposting is bad and of course is due to the often stony ground, a rental equipment is the better choice. An advantage: Due to the virtually no existing vegetation, one saves at least one or the other ball search. The team was very nice, the clubhouse tidy and adequate for the purposes. A place for a round of play playable, certainly not suitable for higher ambitions.

Very badly, extremely down

In the last four years played around 60 different places, and never found such a poor condition of care. There is hardly a fairway, the grass is higher there than at normal places the rough. At certain, in part very large places everything is brown. The greens are very bad; Huge brown, grassless surfaces. Numerous holes and bumps make it impossible to put. Putting becomes pure luck. The bunkers can not be described as such. The few "water hazards" are completely dried out. Also next to the railways nothing is maintained: Wastes, pet bottles lie wildly around. Grubby is also the clubhouse, unfriendly the service. Consequently, there is no course guide.
I can only advise any golfer to visit these places. The beautiful beaches are worth a trip. PeterK, HCP 10.4

PRICE PERFORMANCE insufficient

Actually I knew (HC 10), on which I engage in this square. However, it was worse than expected. Very narrow fairways, fairways insufficient greens at different rates. The strong wind did not help either, the game (hole made completely uncontrollable 8 par 4 played 307 m thanks tailwind 2 m to the hole, but 2. pothole 6 120 m mid green with iron 8 25 m too short, take normal for 120 m a P) and pure lottery! But demand for this course this time of year also € 107 (incl. Buggy) is a joke. Have canceled after the round immediately my remaining reserved tee times. Conclusion: Golf in Jandia is nothing, because the game of golf does not have to travel to Fuerteventura, because you are better off to Gran Canaria or Tenerife! Adeos Jandia!

Great design in archaic surroundings

Who likes Salobre Norte is the place to go in another Ron Kirby Place. From the quality of the fairways and greens clearly the best place in the Winter 16/17 on Fuerte. Lanes 2-4 fell by elevated terraced tees (2 even to play with increased Green a Barranco). The 11, after a long climb to the tea, like much, and the Home Stretch 15-18. Kirby has here really did a great job and added natural events with in the Course Design. From white to play challenging but not impossible (only the 6 as long par 4 is difficult to achieve in regulation). Who is committing to the course have lots of fun at about 52 Euro Twilight from 14:30.

Relaxed golf

Certainly not one of the top places and certainly not cheap but recommended. Have played here on 28/10/16 a game, log on to the friendly staff was perfectly straightforward. The resultant Equipment okay (Callaway) and with electric card for together around 100 € more acceptable. On the square was very little going on, the flights to which I have accumulated as a single player, who let me play through without difficulty.
The fairways and greens were in very good condition, plenty Greekeeper were with the care employed to behintern without gameplay. In summary a nice place from which you can almost always enjoy a view of the sea.

Nice golf course, unfortunately, will not get any state information

We were on 20.09.2016 here a round at play. First time: The place is beautifully located in the area and is the natural environment very well. That always pleases me when a golf ball maintains the naturalness. There are always beautiful views of the beautiful beach of Jandia or the bizarre hills, mountains. I think, as the place of other picks from Fuerteventura to at least that I know. The Course I felt harder than it looks at first glance. the "water" obstacles are planned cleverly, the terrain does not forgive deviating blows frequently. Except us was only one flight traveling, we have eventually crossed times, so we had the place to ourselves, so to speak.
Slightly less joy gave us the condition of the course. Des Öftern were parts from the fairway in progress that have greens just aerifiziert so on all greens, half of the area has prevailed with the typical holes and sand. Sure, this has to be done once, but you should at least, expect that you will be informed before the round about.
A buggy is recommended as part but longer way to the next tee to be overcome.

Fantastically

Was at 14:06:16 play an 18 hole round in glorious sunshine. Had the entire course to myself, the whole place was in top condition. The prospect of having nothing to compare, just perfect. Had me the equipment loaned there, staff super Nett. Buggy use is advantageous because the terrain is very hilly and far. Club sandwich and beer very tasty after the round.
Always my pleasure.

Archaic Golf

In glorious summer weather middle of November we were playing this now perfectly manicured place in archaic volcanic landscape. Not easy to play as many difficult (natural) obstacles such as gorges and mountains, defending the green. Precise Golf also required on the fairways. Reception friendly, but as the hole 19 also very archaic.

Golf course for experts

The golf course offers much: Well maintained fairways, beautiful greens and always a top view of the sea or in the ravines.

Highly recommended is an elec. Trolley, since the place is quite hilly.

Of all three Fuerte places this golf course is the most difficult.
