Characteristics

Haus Bey is the name giver of this course, first mentioned in a document in 1605 and characterised by its bulbous dome. The 70 ha large and often honoured golf course surrounds the former knight's estate. On the 18 holes of the club and the 6 public ones the course has typical Lower Rhine features. Numerous pools as well as a water course that crosses almost the whole course make the course an interesting experience for players of all handicaps.

It was worth it!

It was only there at the beginning of March, but it was still possible to play on summer greens in the sunshine.
Congratulations to the greenkeepers! You could see that they were very busy in winter:
Trees cut, paths freshly created, bunkers cleanly cut off AND the fairways have already received the first cut.
We were greeted warmly at reception and the restaurant is really worth staying at.
An all around wonderful facility.

Solid golf in the border region on the Lower Rhine

Played on November 3rd, 2020. The flat 18-hole course with an additional 6-hole short course can be reached quickly via the A61 and is close to the Dutch border in peace and nature, apart from two country roads that surround the course. It's not far to Venlo. The courses are often bordered by ingrown trees without it being a parkland course. Most tees are open and higher HC should be able to cope well. There are always water hazards, easy doglegs and well-placed bunkers. It never gets boring and everything is very solid, but I miss the big highlights. In the end, unfortunately, not too many tracks will be remembered. Most likely the lanes 10 and 18 with the special challenges. The condition of the fairways was positive, and despite the wetness of the last few days they were carpets and without faults at this time of year. Some of the haircuts were a little uneven and a little worn. The greens were unfortunately not that good, as there were often bald spots and downright small holes, possibly from a mushroom. In addition, depending on the season, a lot of shedding from the trees on it. The clubhouse with restaurant (not tested / closed) is solid, but could be clearly signposted from the parking lot. Next to the clubhouse / restaurant is the nice-looking architectural monument “Schlösschen Haus Bey”. The members gave everyone a friendly greeting. The game was brisk as only two flights were allowed due to the coronavirus. With sunny November weather, all available tee times for the day were fully booked. As a guest, you can see the start times on the homepage, but unfortunately you cannot book them. I was obviously lucky when I called in the morning, someone had just canceled and so I got a tea time for lunch and went around with a very nice member. The employee in the secretariat was very friendly and nice and explained everything to me as a guest. The standard green fee of € 49 on weekdays and € 58 on weekends is appropriate and can be described as cheap. In addition, a sundowner rate is offered. With vouchers from Golf Albrecht you can also play at a discount. There is no surcharge for golfers without a hologram in a thankful way that promotes golf. If you don't expect extreme highlights, I can recommend a solid round in GC Haus Bey in the border region to Holland.

Good price / performance ratio

Varied and fair place in very beautiful surroundings. The condition of the fairways and greens was absolutely fine despite the long rainless period. Buggy not absolutely necessary.
Gastronomy: Very good service & excellent food. Recommendable.
We will be back!
