Played the Big9 course in September. The course was in good condition, but otherwise not very spectacular. Most of the holes are straight, but they are quite demanding just because of the length, e.g. hole 4 with 544m of yellow.
But what I experienced off the pitch really shocked me.
We wanted to hit a few more balls on the driving range and stood to the right of the huts on the line that was stretched in front of the mats. The four of us stood there until a golfer came and stood on the mat right next to me. When I said that it was too dangerous for me and that he had to take off the leash (at least it said on the sign), the answer I received was: Yes, I know, but I could step aside more.
The two of us stood on the first tee. There were three golfers standing there and about to tee off. We asked what your start time was. In response we got. We're doing the second lap here and don't need any tee times and want to tee off in front of you. At the registration I was told that a start time is absolutely necessary. At least you did let us in after a short discussion.
We had just knocked off on hole 3 when two golfers ran across the fairway in front of the green. At the passage to hole 4 there is a sign “Passage forbidden” and you have to go around the outside to hole 8. I can't explain why this little detour is too far for golfers who go 9 holes.
After the round we wanted to have a drink in the restaurant. A golfer wanted to go to his table there, but instead of taking the stairs, he trampled through the flowers.
I have now played 84 different golf courses, but I have never seen anything like it.
On the positive side, I would like to mention the fact that all employees at the registration desk and in the restaurant were very friendly. Therefore still 3 stars.
One can only hope that we had bad luck that day and that these conditions are not the norm. Otherwise a marshal would have a lot to do.

Gut Apeldör is a very well-kept parkland course that blends in nicely with the flat geest landscape. The fairways are often surrounded by deciduous trees, the fairways have slight undulations and are always flanked by water. The greens are fast and very directional, well defended and sometimes slightly undulating. If only the state of care had to be assessed, this place would have earned five points. Unfortunately, the course layout does not meet this requirement. Most of the lanes run in a straight line, a slight dogleg is only found on lanes 3,6 and 11. Overall, the holes are not very demanding and varied for an ambitious player, although I have to note that I played the GC Föhr 7 times directly before and was spoiled accordingly. The 8th hole, a par 3 with peninsula green and the 18, which with the pond and the bunker in front of the clubhouse offer a very nice conclusion, will be remembered.
Overall, it is still a well-maintained course that is easy to play.

Played in June 2017 I can only agree with the previous reviews...
A good hotel with very good service and a wonderful outdoor terrace is framed by a very well maintained golf course. Varied and exciting, the good fairways and some challenging defended greens guarantee a nice and varied round.
Here it would certainly offer to check in for a whole weekend... two glorious days would be guaranteed!!!
