Overrated

Played in summer 2022. What I remember more about Feldafing is the imposing clubhouse, its beautiful terrace and the delicious food than the place itself. It was okay, but by no means so impressive that you absolutely had to play it a second time.

Exceptional golf experience

This is the second time we have been to the Feldafinger Golf Club and we have always been thrilled! The staff at reception were extremely friendly to us as guests, which is not always the case with many golf clubs.
We received the Bridiebook and the chips for the driving range for free. We were given a briefing and an overview plan, since the signage "next tee" is not possible due to the public park. But with the good overview plan and the hangings explanations from the secretariat, we didn't miss them!

The course presented itself in perfect condition - juicy fairways and fast greens. On some holes you can see parts of Lake Starnberg and on hole 11 is Rosen Insel, which is worth a visit after the round.
The front nine are rather narrow in contrast to the back nine.
Which makes the game a nice change of pace.
The golf course also has a lot to offer historically, as an employee told us.

The clubhouse and the terrace are embedded in the park landscape with the old trees. The food in the restaurant is highly recommended. The restaurant has been run by the same owner for 33 years. The menu offers everything you need after a round of golf on two pages! We came back just for dinner and have to say that was excellent too. The prices are normal and not overpriced.

We are very happy to come back and look forward to playing a game of golf in Feldafing again next year.

Royal mediocrity

Finally, I have one thing in common with Dwight D. Eisenhower: we both played like kings at Lake Starnberg.

Yes, you play on historical grounds and the Golfclub Feldafing has something, above all a charming clubhouse and occasionally a view of the lake during the round, but the course itself is - in my personal ranking - in the south of Munich more in the field of pursuers, but not at the top. If I lived in Starnberg, the Starnberg Golf Club course would be my first choice.

I read that the course first had 9 holes and then expanded to 18 holes in 1962. The front nine were probably the first 9 holes, and I liked them much better, they were more harmoniously integrated into the landscape. The second half of the season is a bit confused in the landscape. The condition was impeccable. The paths to the next tee are sometimes long, not always happily signposted and in two or three cases quite steep.

The place is in a public park. That's why you keep meeting walkers and joggers along the way. That doesn't bother us and always makes for nice conversations with passers-by who want to know what we golfers are doing here. On the other hand, you have to pay attention to pedestrians crossing at one or the other tee.

The beautiful clubhouse has an inviting terrace with a beautiful view and first-class cuisine (the same innkeeper for over 33 years!) at reasonable prices.

The day of golf in Feldafing was a wonderful experience with the best weather. I'm happy to give 4 stars, 5 isn't quite enough for me.

Thanks for your review. We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us. You rightly miss more precise signage for the next tees. Since we have leased our golf course from the Bavarian administration of castles and lakes, it is a requirement that the information signs "integrate into the park image" and are not too conspicuous. We are aware of the problem, but unfortunately we have no way of changing it. We hope to be able to welcome you again in spite of this.

A place with exceptional views and a club with exceptional service

We wanted to play the course after heavy rains the previous night and in the morning and were surprised that we were offered to play first and then see whether the course allows a normal game. This is called service and courteous. We played in improved weather conditions and were surprised how well the course was to play anyway. The holes with a view of the lake are a feast for the eyes here, one can only say WOW. After the end of the round we got a discount on the usual green fee of € 80. Thank you once again to the secretariat. We'd love to come back here.

A beautiful parkland golf course with tradition and a lot of old trees.

Varied and quite challenging to play, some holes have a decent length. The greens are fair and on track, but are sometimes well defended by bunkers. My personal signature hole is hole 2. Outstanding is the view that you have on some of the holes of Lake Starnberg.
Overall, the course is really fun to play and for me it is definitely one of the most beautiful golf courses, not only in southern Germany.

The best...

... on Lake Starnberg and around Munich - that's the opinion of all of us, as well as one of the oldest golf courses in Germany.

It all started with nine holes - in 1926 - which received nine more holes in 1962. The US administrators were responsible for this expansion together with the club president. Today we play on the oldest 18 hole course in Bavaria.

In the mid-1990s, the 18-hole course was completely redesigned and the design is reminiscent of Harry Colt. Feldafing has been in the top lists for years - in the top third.

The sloping terrain towards the lake provides a wide view. The great thing about these holes is that they are in the middle of trees - some very old trees. However, this also has disadvantages: it takes time for the soil to dry out after rainfall.

The score card promises a relaxed round, because the holes are not that long - on average less than 350 meters, the par 4 with significantly more than 350 meters are in short supply. The fairway bunkers are also in short supply, there are only holes on hole 6. These are often replaced by the streams, the trees that come into play when there is no target golf. Partly a narrow thing, not only from the tee, also the second shot to the green.

The wet and deep soil barely delivered free meters. We had to play the distances, and you can't score points with the length of the tee. Several balls had received enough hits, they said goodbye to the green. Everyone had to reach into their pockets, some several times...

The greens were playing very well, the speed was too slow today.

The Sciore today - to forget as a teammate put it aptly - very modest. The ground conditions have certainly also contributed to our game more.

Due to the weather, we registered a few deficits in the course maintenance, overall it is very good.

The clubhouse and the staff are a great pleasure - very nice and courteous. We also want to praise the home page - the best we have seen this year, perfect and comprehensive, also on Covid-19.

All were for five stars, for us the best and most beautiful in the Munich area.

Everyone had a lot of fun, except for the score. We have been here for the third time since 2003.

Gorgeous golf rounds in royal landscape

It should be a fantastic golf weekend. Best weather and very pleasant temperatures were announced. And so we planned this weekend our private "Abgolfen" in native climes around the Lake Starnberg.

Already my call in the secretariat of GC Feldafing was a very pleasant experience. I was greeted warmly and extremely hospitably, all questions and requests were resolved quickly and competently. Since space and the greens were aerified and partially sanded, we were offered special conditions immediately and explained that the place was still very playable. And he was too.

Varied, embedded in majestic royal landscape and with magnificent views of and over the Lake Starnberg in the direction of the mountains, it is simply fantastic in Feldafing.
Allegedly simple and short par 3's have their own special attraction, as the par 4 and par 5 tees with different narrow and sometimes very wide fairways and the associated special challenges ... ;-) Big trees in the middle of the train narrow passages, cleverly set bunkers, pretty water hazards, impressive protection zones, twisted greens: the field in Feldafing offers just what the golfer's heart desires and remains more than fair. If you play a little bit with brains.

The condition of the course was autumn-very good and we considered the aerified and sanded greens more as an additional fun challenge than an obstacle.

In short: There were 2 wonderful laps in Feldafing.
And if you have the opportunity, you should definitely play a round here and enjoy the royal-venerable landscape on Lake Starnberg in addition to the joy of sports and games to the fullest.

Incidentally, you can also enjoy at hole 19, because in addition to well-cooled drinks and delicious food, the location of the clubhouse and the view from the terrace in GC Feldafing offers another absolute highlight. And round off such a wonderful round of golf truly stately.

We will be back soon, see you soon!

Really very challenging golf

Slope 142 lets you guess, but already on the first tee you know why: it's getting tight.
The golf course passes in a wonderful way through a forest with ancient trees. Often the fairways are very narrow and again and again a huge tree is in the way, or at least its branches. There are also crossing streams and well-placed sand bunkers. very close teeing angles are almost standard. the ladies, often set 50-100m forward, it's a bit easier.
The place presented itself in the best condition, is very hilly and yet easy to master on foot. The greens were top, varied and must be well read.
The killer is the 18th hole. Two huge trees completely block the fairway. It took me a few seconds to realize that the ball had to go through it. over it - barely feasible, at 25-30 m height. There are only two small, approximately 5 m wide openings to play through. my first thought: here is quite sure some already sunk his tournament victory in the tree, which the pro confirmed with a broad grin.
Unterm dash: a great unforgettable golf experience in the most beautiful landscape, especially for a very fair greenfee.
For me: repeat as fast as possible!!!
... and the 19th hole offers a pretty good restaurant.

Very nice and well maintained demanding place

A must if you are in the vicinity. Very nice place, very well maintained, golfers nothing to be desired. Only, as all places in the area, you can only pay in cash as a Swiss in restaurants :-(

Always an adventure

We play this beautiful place once every year.
It is always an experience.
The staff throughout the club is very accommodating and the members are friendly.
The views of the lake and the rose island are enchanting.
Despite the many trees, the course is fair and to be mastered by everyone.
The gastronomy is excellent.
We will play again in Feldafing next year.

Top Golf

Probably the most beautiful golf course on Lake Starnberg.

An extremely beautiful place that is in very good condition and has almost perfect greens.
Layout technically there are actually no criticisms and is provided for enough variety.

Supplement to the valuation from June

In the aftermath, I learned that for legal reasons (the place is in a public park) no more signposting plates may be set up. So still full score!!

Beautiful Place

Great views, old trees, well maintained area, all around good. Very nice and friendly staff in all areas. Only point deduction: the ways to the next tea could be better marked. The complex is in a public park, it runs unusually many people through the area, but this does not really bother you

Empress Weather

A must for every golfer. The place is not hard to play. What is really fantastic, the views of the Lake Starnberg with beautifully colored leaves splendor. The old trees are the place a very special atmosphere. It starts on the 10 even with a 18-hole round.
In the second half hole 1-9 were already several winter greens. Hole 10-18 places poor signage. As first-time players a bit confusing. Descriptions on the tee helped somewhat with orientation. Quality time at a very nice place. play Absolutely. :-)

Good wintergreen

The place seemed now end of the year (December), despite the best weather ( "Empress Weather") very leave - but that is an advantage even be able to play fast. Some good winter greens. Otherwise the enchanted location overlooking Lake Starnberg and a fantastic old trees. And the wonderful long shadows on the fairways conjured by the winter sun. There had only been missing Empress Elisabeth to be able to greet riding on her horse. But exactly one must note: the GC is part of a park which is very intense of walkers (mostly dogs) used. Very nice members who helped to find that no longer numbered spaces and thus to play a proper sequence of holes (unfortunately plan was not made).
We spent the night at the neighboring Golf Hotel Empress Elisabeth with great views of the GC.
A successful birthday party in 2016 was REQUESTED the GC Feldafing (90), the same community celebrates partnership also 900terstes... just nice that it gives her so historical places!

Great location but very close

The golf course is beautifully situated directly Feldafing on Lake Starnberg with views of the Alps. But the tracks are very (really very tight) and relatively short. In addition, I found the greens quite own or offense.
The club also looks a bit jet-setter Munich moderately, the catering is for very good. Overall, a place that does not, however, convinced playful because of the scenery.

One of the most beautiful places I've played

Very nice facility with very well-kept paths, but also not easy to play. The only downside, I had two ladies from train 1 to 18 in front of me, who heard of it apparently, that one can be a single player (HC 14.4) by playing times. If you are waiting at each train must annoying. I would have been ready an hour earlier and could have taken a cool drink on the terrace at me.

One of the best!

Feldafing is a Parkland dream as you rarely find him in Bavaria and Germany!
The acts of the club slightly dusty with regard to the Members, etc., is the old and the tradition of classy clubs Feldafing owed.
The place (and therefore go), is difficult, very beautiful and challenging!

Good!

The place is okay, but it lacks on the front nine water hazards.
The members are all friendly, but a bit selfish.
Gastronomy is very good.
