Beautiful golf club with RV parking

In June 2023 we were at the Bad Salzdetfurth-Hildesheim Golf Club. The place was absolutely top maintained and varied to play, beautiful wooded areas. The employees in the secretariat and in the restaurant were very friendly. The club has four pitches for mobile homes with electricity, and the sanitary facilities can also be used. These are directly opposite the parking spaces. The food in the restaurant was excellent and delicious. We were very satisfied.

Beautiful forest

Played June 2021, handicap 14

A very nice parkland or mostly forest place. Few "open" lanes, mostly it gets quite tight - the forest is dense and balls hit into it often disappear never to see / play again. Since it is also quite hilly, the lowland Berliners who are less experienced in such locations are repeatedly confronted with greater challenges (slopes!) - certainly not an easy beginner's meadow! As a consolation: there are no water hazards.
A cart is recommended to all those who are not looking for the challenge of a mountain tour!

The greens are also interestingly undulating - not overly fast, but quite challenging and, like the rest of the course, very well maintained.

The only drawback:
Unfortunately, the forest does not shield the background noise as well as expected - there is always street noise to be heard and the busy greenkeeper roars across half the square, even on Thursday.

Unusual:
After 8 holes you are “out” again at the clubhouse and then play 10 holes “in” again. So that 9-hole rounds do not end somewhere in the forest, there is a "6b" hole. In 9-hole tournaments you play the “6” as a short Par4 and then the “6b”, a very short (just over 100m) Par3. On the 18-hole round, the 6 is played on a flag that is further back, so that it becomes a very long (HCP 1) Par4 and the “6b” is simply ignored. Can be irritating, but was explained to us sufficiently by the very nice lady in the secretariat before the group.

Conclusion: A very interesting, well-maintained, not so easy place in the forest that you should definitely play when you are out and about in the Harz - very good 3 stars! (In the "Golf Bear Ranking": 6 out of 10 points.)

Two Faces

Like many German golf courses Hildesheim has two faces!
The front 9-hole are very hilly bush and meadows, simple and usual country golf!
The rear 9 on the other hand are also very hilly (a car is quite a tip) but in an ancient forest stock! Exhilarating bunkers and forest golf await you! During my visit, the place was very well kept despite great drought! The rear 9 are a pleasure...
