Golfing with a dog and a beautiful panorama

Great space, needs stamina, but it's worth it.

Very nice golf course, impressive mountain scenery, infrastructure is great, dealing with guest customers is not necessarily contemporary, rather small-minded...

Grandiose...

... the alpine panorama that this 18-hole course serves us, as well as the highest tee in Switzerland - including Europe - at over 1900 meters above sea level - hole 5 par 3 - a pasture gate must be opened for this. This would deserve five stars.

We drove the many bends up to the golf course - wanted to escape the summer heat in the Rhine Valley for a few hours - turned the steering wheel almost non-stop. The distance from Chur is not great - 30 km - but the difference in altitude - 1300 meters - and the driving speed count twice.

It is an old 9-hole course - which was opened in 1947 and at that time was mainly played on the floor of the cow pastures - expanded to 18 holes a few years ago. The old 9 holes have recently been renovated and modeled to be more playable, including their greens.

As usual for alpine courses, there are not many long par 4s - the average length of the holes is less than 250 meters - there are no par 5s. However, you usually have to play the distances, because the rustic vegetation of the ground as well as the terrain give only a few free meters. Bunkers are absolutely in short supply - there is only one green bunker - are not necessary to defend them. The miniature size itself makes for a good defense - the smallest greens we've ever played. The tea boxes have also grown below average. On the first nine you can use the driver a couple of times - there is usually enough space - but this is not mandatory, a small piece of wood or even a long iron is usually sufficient. On the second nine it is sometimes tight - originally the first nine holes - the firs or larches are very close.

The layout is okay, the maintenance surprised us - very good. You have to take into account that the one with the rustic vegetation is different than with places in the valley - not to be compared.

The altitude ensures that the circulation stays in motion, it is possible to do sports.

It was great fun, even though a couple of balls shouted "Bye".

Nice modern smaller clubhouse with very nice staff.
