What more do you want?

We did a small northern tour, were in Flensburg, on Föhr, in Sönderjilland and here. This was the best of the 4 places (slightly ahead of Flensburg/Glücksburg). Impressive club castle (house would be an understatement), great training opportunities, a very well-kept, varied parkland course, whoever complains here needs a doctor. Restaurant performance drops a bit due to soggy cake with spray cream, but that has nothing to do with the place itself. MUST PLAY!

Very varied, quiet round in the forest

Played in August 2021, handicap 14

A pleasantly quiet parkland course - no annoying car traffic or aircraft noise. The front lanes lead through beautiful forest, further back it becomes a little more open.

The course is moderately hilly, with some nicely elevated tees - a cart is recommended for everyone who doesn't like it too sporty.

Fortunately, the layout is really unusually varied, but generally not too difficult. The water hazards can usually be easily removed from the game, as are the bunkers.

The greens are more tricky - interestingly undulating, some are quite large, and some are tiny. Moderately fast.

The Par3s also offer a lot of variety with lengths of less than 100 to almost 200m.

The condition was generally VERY good, especially the fairways and the semi-rough. Unfortunately, the very beautiful, “wooded” location takes its toll: There are real problems with a few tees and especially with a green of a par 3 (hole 8). This green is extremely bumpy and much slower than any other. The affected tees are also significantly “rougher” than the majority of the others, on a Par3 you even have to tee off from a mat out of the forest.

Conclusion: a wonderfully quiet forest / parkland course! Despite "deductions" for the problematic tees / greens very good 3 stars, definitely play (again) if you are in the vicinity! (In the "Golf Bear Ranking": 7 out of 10 points.)
