The full course was declared open on 13th June 1976 by Michael Barratt of the BBC and an exhibition match was then played with Neil Coles and Tommy Horton being partnered by two of the South West’s leading amateurs.
Since this date, many improvements have been made both to the golf course and the clubhouse, so that today we have an interesting, well-kept parkland course and a well provided clubhouse in which good food and a friendly atmosphere prevail.

Varied parkland course

The first 9 are fairly flat, while the second 9 is quite hilly. The course isn't particularly long, but it offers a fair amount of variety. However, the English layout takes some getting used to (crossing fairways). The greens were of English standard. During our visit, some of them were aerated. However, this was only a problem on the 3rd green.
