A marvelous course studded with palm trees on the sunny Atlantic coast of southern Spain. It offers 27 Championship holes with sculpted fairways, studded with stately palm trees, and dotted with lakes and bunkers.
The course is an intriguing layout on level terrain alongside wide Atlantic beaches. Players of any level are tested, but no matter one’s level, everybody will enjoy this superbly designed course and you will remember it fondly for many years. The European PGA Tour recognizes Costa Ballena Ocean Course’s caliber of golf and has used it as one of the European Tour Qualifying School courses since 2005!

The extensive practice facilities are amongst the best to be found in Europe. The centerpiece is the huge all grass driving range which allows 120 players to practice at the same time. The greens have slopes and undulations which will allow you to practice any shot imaginable. The gigantic putting green with many levels and slopes will hone your putting. There is also a 9 hole Executive course which you can use to work on your short game to shave off a few strokes.

The Costa Ballena Ocean Golf Course clubhouse design was inspired by the typical cottages that can be found in the nearby Doñana National Park. The restaurant with its amazing views to the Atlantic Ocean from the terrace is full service restaurant renowned for its authentic Andalucian, Spanish, and international food.
Costa Ballena is located just south of Seville & Jerez (home of Sherry wine) so there is plenty of sightseeing to enjoy and Andalusian cuisine and wines to savor when you are not on the golf course. It enjoys an exquisite setting on the expansive beaches of Spain’s southern Atlantic Coast. Besser als Durchschnitt February 23, 2012
WIr haben die 27 Löcher im Februar 12 gespielt, nachdem es 10 Wochen in der Region nicht geregnet hatte und empfindlich kalt war mit Nachtfrösten. Dafür auch im Vergleich zu umliegenden Plätzen sehr guter Pflegezustand und erstaunlich schnelle und gute Grüns. Der Platz ist fast bretteben, lebt von verwinkelten Doglegs und reichlich Wasserhindernissen, die aber bei recht breiten Fairways nie unfair ins Spiel kommen. Reichlich Bunker mit sehr gutem Inhalt, sodass sogar Bunkerlagen Spass machen können. Intensive Randbebauung stört mich optisch ein wenig, es müssen auch immer wieder Strassen überquert werden. Eine typische Urbanisation eben, die den Platz als Grünfläche zwischen den (nicht immer hübschen) Häusern nutzt. Gutes Clubhaus mit ordentlichem Getränke- und Speisenangebot. Ärgerlich die Preisgestaltung, die von uns Turis volle Preise abschöpft während im Clubhaus ein Anzeigenblatt ausliegt, dass - auf Spanisch- im Februar Rabatte über 35% einräumte, wovon uns trotz Rückfrage nichts gesagt wurde. Wie uns gesagt wurde, ist das den Platz überschauende Barcelò Hotel recht empfehlenswert, wir waren im benachbarten Playaballena und würden dort nicht unbedingt nochmal hin.
Toller Platz November 17, 2011
Diesen Platz haben wir Mitte November gespielt und waren von den Bahnen ( in unserem Fall 1 - 18 ) sehr angetan : toller Pflegezustand ( vielleicht ja auch wegen der bevorstehenden Second Stage der Qualifying School der European Tour ), doch nach Angaben von Mitgliedern, mit denen wir gespielt haben, eigentlich immer gut. Auch das Layout ist ganz interessant.
Den Platz kann man gut zu Fuß spielen, obwohl die Wege zwischen den einzelnen Bahnen manchmal sehr lang sind. Auch die angrenzende Bebauung der Urbanication Costa Ballena wirkt nicht spielstörend.
Wir können den Platz bedenkenlos weiterempfehlen.

Sehr schöner Platz, viele Palmen, tolle Lage am Atlantic und für jede Spielstätke geeignet.
Buggy ist aus meiner Sicht vom Gelände her nicht notwendig.
Gute Trainingsmöglichkeiten ( auch ein 9 Loch Par 3 Kurs ) , sehr nett.
Tipp:
Hinter dem Golfplatz ist ein toller sehr langer Sandstrand. Wunderschöner Ausklang nach dem Spiel am Nachmittag.
