Friendly place.

As every year we play our mini tournament with friends in Austria, we play 1round at Adamstal and then on some course where we never played this year we choose Colony. Once again we verify our thoughts that there are as good courses or better than Fontana in Austria and this one is one of them.
From first moment it will bring you in nature and between nice people and not that posh feeling we had at the other course. Colony will welcome you with very nice club house and spatious parking lot next to it. Receptionist and veryone is very friendly there. Driving is just few meters away from parking lot, not next to it but 3 min walk. Colony offers 2 courses East and West, we started with East and next day West. Quality on both is same, great greens which roll true, bit slower but easy to understand due the dry conditions they keep them slower. Fairways and tee boxes are well maintained, they offer enough space to land a ball and were nice and soft. Roughs were not to heavy but still hard to play. What I did not like was as always marking the next tee should be much more visible and better placed. Also the instructions in buggies were only in German, sorry to say, I know how to ride buggy, but if you want someone ride only on fairway than you better write it in English, there are also golfers who do not ride correctly and they do not speak German. Back to course, difficult to pick the signature hole on East, would say probably 10th, on West for sure 18th. I personally favor the East course, since iit was more challenging with many narrow shots. West is more open. What I do not understand why they make courses in Austria that hard to play, the lenght from yellow tees is about 6.2km which is quite long. Anyway, we had great round and lot of fun, after the game you can get ticket to pool and refresh and its a best part in hot summer. I will for sure come back some day.

Perfect

I have on 2.6. played the west course from this golf course in wonderful early summer weather. That was the best thing I've seen in a long time, from the reception to the condition of the course to the showers and the gastronomy. I'm already looking forward to my next stay in Vienna to play golf here again

Great infrastructure

Extremely appealing clubhouse, which continues in a very well-kept, well-equipped driving range, signage, multiple drinking water dispensers, etc. The course as such (east course), on the other hand, slopes down a bit - the layout is not that insanely interesting and the terrain is a bit flat.

West course - dream place

The course presented itself in an excellent condition.
Super carpet fairways, lightning-fast greens, large and wonderfully playable bunker systems - just a very nice place.
The all around is very well maintained, just a dream place!

It is difficult to highlight individual holes because each fairway has its own charm.

Very good also the gastronomy, great food!

Beautiful parkland course

We played the western course in mid-May 2020 and were very satisfied with the course condition, which corresponds to a "Leading Golf Course". The tees were well maintained and the greens were quick and on track. The first 9 holes are a bit monotonous, while the second 9 holes are varied and interesting to play. Hole 18 is wonderful! We would love to come back!

Really "leading"

The Colony Club has a bit of a nimbus of special exclusivity and a little bit of sniveling. No trace of the latter! Only friendly people who don't look down on the green fee guest from above. Yesterday we played the obviously somewhat unpopular east course and were very satisfied. The place was very well-kept despite long-lasting rainfall, varied, challenging, but not unfair. Particularly noteworthy: The extremely friendly secretariat and even more: the 19th hole, which offers really excellent. Greefee not cheap, but reasonable. All the ingredients for a wonderful day of golf.

West course

Golf course: After two beautiful entry holes, it goes on the first 9 a bit monotonous there. The second 9 are then more varied and interesting to play.

Course condition: According to a leading golf course very good.

Conclusion: beautiful parkland course. The holes at the beginning and end around water top.

What a pity

Extremely disappointing conclusion of a nice golf trip through Lower Austria. Clattering east course that allowed no normal game.
The club manager, who was contacted, let us know that it had rained a lot before and therefore a few laps were a bit wet. So much wisdom and arrogance we had not expected in these green fee prices. What a contrast to the other played squares.

Rightly "leading"

Yesterday, for the first time played the west course on the last late summer day. Our flight has had two "old CCG rabbits", by the way excellent golfers, as lovable, friendly and not at all arrogant players. The place itself after this hot summer in wonderful condition, perfectly maintained and with first class greens. Game flow very good, just under 4 hours are perfect for a 4er flight. Game division perfect, place discipline impeccable. The place overall beautiful, grown and varied. Secretariat: friendly, competent and helpful (forget socks ...).
Greenfee with 102.- not cheap, but worth the price.
The pre-posters must have caught a black day, none of the negative judgments we can understand.
Only the club restaurant could grow - it is not bad, but not great. If you compare the CCG with Fontana (similar area, similar level): CCG has the much nicer, more natural place, Fontana the much nicer "all around", especially the restaurant.
The eastern course is still waiting for us and we are already looking forward to it...

Leading golf course?

I did not have my club card with me when I registered, I showed my ID card and Visa card and asked to look into the computer. No, I had to go around the map to the faraway car. We had a fixed tee time reserved and confirmed, despite starters we had to wait several flights that had their balls in the spiral. The west course is very spacious, too few water dispensers, we played at over 30 degrees, was not ok. Then restaurant, staff not very friendly, the food was okay. That should be "the leading golf club"? Around Vienna there are many nicer and friendlier places.

A nice day of golf, but

2 beautiful places, very well maintained, was fun.
We were traveling with two and had the place almost to ourselves.
When asked in the secretariat, who was the designer of the 2 Course I was a Birdiebook pressed into the hand with the remark that it may be there in there.
The table cloth on the restaurant terrace was littered with food stains and was not exchanged with reluctance, but covered with a pure. When paying the next surprise: AMEX credit card was not accepted, although the stickers were available at the terminal and could be very well paid in ProShop.
LEADING CLUB, well!!!
For the overall rating, there are only 2 stars, otherwise it would have become 4.

Schoener place

The place was very nice. Unfriendly and arrogant manager and her staff.
We did a golf tour through Austria and found that the friendliness was great on all places we visited.
The arrogance here was extraordinary.

In its area top

Since my last evaluation, a circumstance has changed: The double green fee was not required by me even though I have not changed the club. Coincidence or change of the club policy, I do not know, at any rate you feel more welcome. Moreover, I have now played both places and also the restaurant used.

The GC Himberg is a pompous complex. The clubhouse is really impressive, even the squares are essentially.

I like the western course better, it is somehow more harmonious, more harmonious, you are completely secluded there. It has some top holes (eg holes 2 and 18) and a lot of water.

But also the east course is a clearly above-average beautiful place, which is precisely on the second nine holes very demanding. Here, however, I like, for example, the start hole not particularly (left the way and the current, right the range), also the crossing of the road on the second Nine nerves. In addition, it is partly already almost unfair closely, there are some blind hits, especially on the second Nine.

Both places have summed up extraordinarily beautiful tracks, partly it is also times "so there".

The condition was always very good. Especially the greens are dreamhauft, fast and spurtreu.

The restaurant is really worth a visit and has reasonable prices.

In order to belong to my absolute favorite places missing the special, like the landscape in the Adamstal or special views.

It's also rather in "high society" golf course, you can feel comfortable somewhere else. If one greets members with joy that one can spend a nice day at the golf course, one faces a somber face.

But a good golfing experience is always guaranteed in Himberg.

West course

For the end of October of Plätz is mega powerful in shot!
Very well maintained, the fairways lush and green, the greens have to be very fast and the layout of the place is not much to say other than "perfectly".
The space for par 73 rather very long with 6,200 m of yellow.
For me the most beautiful hole on the course 2, a par 3 with 144m, a small stream crosses the fairway, and 18, a rather short par 5 of 436 meters, but that has its pitfalls.

All in all, 5 stars are very worthy.

Gastro very good!

Outside Hui inside Pfhu true

For negatives: The green fee policy that does not recognize some clubs, resulting in at twice the price, is a joke. Mainly because that is not communicated to the HP still booking over the phone. However, this rule does not apply to vouchers, otherwise I would not have played.
But the course (West Course) showed - up on some tea - in the best condition. A beautiful parkland course with water, mature trees and well defended greens. A Wow experience as Adamstal or Enzesfely is the place but do not.

Who then is more beautiful?

We have now played in a few days both courses. What remains on the bottom line, are 36 superb golf holes in fantastic condition with great, difficult greens. The expensive green fee is certainly justified. Only the question remains as to which of the two courts is the more beautiful. I like both. The West is probably the most demanding something. However, the East I like almost a little more. Is certainly a matter of taste. Anyway, both are great fun!

West Course top site

On 5 May, the course is already in a sensational state where the greens are not top notch. The state is, however, certainly, depending on weather conditions, certainly better in the next few weeks.
For me, the most beautiful holes are the par 3 - hole 2 and 15, and the finishing hole, a par 5, the green can be reached with a very good discount with the 2nd shot.
Secretariat, restaurant perfectly.

Inappropriate green fee

The seats are well maintained, but not outstanding. The green fee of EUR 198.00 (!) For golf clubs that do not belong to the Leading Courses of Austria, is not appropriate. Green fee players are welcome, it was me, unfortunately, shows locally.

Very good golfing in Vienna

Perfect and grosszeugige system that provides through 36 holes on the weekends match possibilities. Good driving range (grass, Baelle and goals) and a separate opportunity to Ueben the Short Games of 40m or less.
Both places are very well maintained. The West Course is the middle / end of the round in the game of water during Ostplatz is a pure Parkland Course, facilitated by two simpler entry into the round holes. From Vienna easily reached by car.

Outside hui inside Pooh

The facility is beautiful and the two places really are one of the "leading golf courses", but the green fee policy is not traceable. Certain clubs are not designated as a golf club according to a statement from the reception and therefore the green fee costs 150 euros for those players. I would have no problem if that is also dependent on the hompage, but this is not the case - an arrogance which I will avoid in the future.
