Aroeira 1 review

- We stayed at an apartment on Aroeira resort which was very nice, no complaints at all 10 out of 10.
- The clubhouse is worth a stop after 18 for a drink/lunch.
- The golf course is a nice design with some nice holes, but it is looking rather dated.
- The tees are terrible without a flat lie, worst than a Pitch and Putt course
- The fairways were very patchy in places with no grass or just sand. Bunkers were in great condition.
- The greens are left very lush meaning they are hard to read and all different speeds with no true roll. They can't even be bothered with simple dew removal, so if you play early in the morning, hit that putt hard!!!

Good course

We played Aroeira II the first time. It's a nice parkland course with some water hazard.
If I will find some negative points on this course then this is amount of sand in the bunkers and a missing club house on tee 18th of Aroeira II. A club house is only on Aroeira I available and this course is on the opposite site of the Aroeira Golf area.
During our play the course was in preparation for the Portuguese Amateur championship so a lot of maintenance work was ongoing but it was not annoying.
If you are in this area and you got a good greenfee discount try this course.

Not very flexible staff

It's really a shame that if you are unable to walk due to an injury, the whole day of golf is spoiled because the staff at the golf course are not at all flexible in having a golf baggy made available during the day. The ambiance of Auroeira 2 is also uninviting and doesn't correspond by far to what Auroeira 1 has to offer. With a little inflexibility, you lose 8 guests for a long time and with the CONNECTIONS to the TRAVEL INDUSTRY, the good can also go into the hundreds... Pity!

Good mid-range golf course with lots of forest

We played the Pines Classic, which at the beginning of April22 was already quite well taken care of.
Unfortunately, the driving range is at the other 18-hole course and the practice green at the tee was not edifying. On the other hand, the course was well-kept and requires a clean straight game, otherwise you can find yourself under the trees, the ball can usually be found.

Aroeira II - good, but not special

The golf course was in good condition for the end of July 2018. The greens faithful and relatively fast.
The first nine are unfortunately all straight, lined with trees and without any special features. The water hazards enhance the look, but are hardly involved. Some tracks are relatively narrow and you definitely have to pay attention to the relatively frequent walkers.
The second nine will be more interesting.

When driving you have the impression that you are on a test track for shock absorbers. The whole village seems to be geared towards golf, but the golf supermarket is just a normal supermarket and also the golf pharmacy does not carry any special golf products. ;-)
The clubhouse has its own, somewhat antiquated look and is far from Aroeira II. In the square itself no nice, but adequate practice facility. Our cart was pretty dirty, sticky and lame too.
After the round you can only have a drink at a hotel pool next door or eat fast food.

For my taste too much development

Played 21.03.2018.
Place between houses and forest, only partially no building visible, then it looks very nice.
Very fast greens, otherwise neglected (maybe too early for the season).

Aroreiea 1- nice facility in the pinewood

Today for the first time played. Fairways among pine trees, undulating, but to be going well. Greens partly difficult to read. The fairways of the last 8 were now in March already very dry and hard.
Club House is in a log cabin style. Unfortunately in proshop no logo balls available.
Driving range there are 50 balls per basket.
We did play a lot of fun here.

New owner

Have the last few years often played here and the maintenance condition has improved noticeably.
Greens are still good and fast.
There are 2 places in the plant with a Driving at the tee of the other with the restaurant, which is highly recommended.
At noon mostly with breakfast for little money and something for everyone and with views of the 18th green.

Never more

I have now after 25 years played Aroiero 1 to 2 times. Green fee of € 90, - on weekdays is outrageous. Staff not very friendly. Clubhouse still the Shack, something better equipped.
The place was like 25 years ago in an unkempt state.
But worst of all the gastronomy in the clubhouse. The menu offers salads, burgers and sandwiches. In a nutshell: My wife and I have never eaten worse in our 35-year golf time.
Never again aroeira

Good atmosphere

The arrival of the train to Lisbon Foros de Amora, and from there by taxi for 10 € to the clubhouse Aroeira 1 went smoothly. Unfortunately, there is no driving range Amoreira 1 and then it went off with a cold start. The place is very well maintained and offers something for everyone. By the surrounding villas creates a special atmosphere. Some dogs have strayed from there to the place, but have moved quickly. Although the restaurant lacks any charm, but the prices were very cheap. All staff spoke English. Overall, a worthwhile cause.

Aroeira 2

Beautiful place with good trees, which donates the sunshine shade. On many holes there are small lakes, which together with the increase Schwierigkeisgrad-enhance the appearance of the place. Between the Cluphaus and Aroeira 2 about 5 minutes drive away, so it should be that you have to pay by means green fees at Cluphaus. The complete Cours is surrounded by villas and you feel as if you would play in Beverlyhills. Unfortunately, the staff was rather unfriendly. For this reason we decided not to play a second time Aroeira and have traveled further.
