Another visit in Costa del Golf this time we played 2 courses, this one was the 2nd.
We arrived again about 30 min before game, so no driving again :D, but its really close to clubhouse no need to walk anywhere far. Check-in process was quite fast. We skip the restaurant and went to putting green instead, which I realize was good, cause greens were quite fast compare to other course we played.
We played with another couple and have to say that red tees on 1st hole were kind of tough piece for my girlfriend, not very welcoming :D. Course is surrounded with many cork trees like older sister Valderrama, probably as much as difficult, but for better money. From first tee we realize that it will be long day, there were ladies tournament in front of us. Slow game will kill this beautiful game, and pro golfers are not good example how to play fast. Anyway, love the course, many interesting shots again, would be difficult to say which hole I like the best, but not 18th even I made it over the hole, but did not interest me. Honestly I liked 14th and 13th, but that is my opinion. Course is in great shape and I can only recommend.

So we cannot agree with the previous assessment in any way. It's true that some trains run close to the motorway, but the noise wasn't that terribly deafening. In contrast to most places on the Costa del Sol, here you can walk in a relaxed manner, which is what most players do and you don't need a buggy at all. The paths are undulating, but not steep.
The place is ok for the price-performance ratio. 9 holes cost €40 (without buggy, with pull trolley). The fact that the course can stand up to all the expensive and elite ones in the region is thanks to the two renowned course designers Dave Thomas and Robert Trent Jones. We found it to be pleasantly fair and not strenuous to play. No ball gone. If anyone here complains that the fairways are sagging, they have never played one of these. However, the condition could be better. In some places we would describe it as a golf field, which is certainly due to the hot summer. But the club is excellent for a nice after-work round with local golfers.
The tapas in the clubhouse are authentic Andalusian and highly recommended.

A fairly hilly (cart recommended!) tree lined parkland course. Not ugly in terms of landscape, but largely without highlights. Only towards the end of the round there are a few tracks with nice views towards the sea.
Most of the holes are also rather unspectacular in terms of layout. Water only really comes into play once (lane 17), and you have to look for fairway bunkers. It just goes up and down and the balls often roll to the edge of the fairway because the fairways also run quite diagonally to the sides.
The course is “actually” not really difficult to play – with one exception:
The greens are mostly slightly elevated, with a noticeable rise in the fairway just before the green. The grass is significantly higher on this “collar” than on the fairways. It is therefore quite impossible to let the ball roll onto the green in a dosed manner - you MUST inevitably play the green high. To be precise, VERY high, because the putt areas are extremely fast, and every ball that arrives a little too flat is guaranteed to roll off the green again. Since the greens are mostly steeply sloped, you hardly have a chance of getting a reasonably good score without precise knowledge of the course. If the ball lands on the "wrong" side of the hole, you have to sink it with the next putt / chip - if you miss the hole, it rolls several meters beyond the hole, even if it was played very carefully. Unfortunately, this motif is repeated on almost every track.
As pleasing as it is that a birdie book is included with the green fee, it is disappointing that it does not contain any information about these treacherous slopes of the greens. For those unfamiliar with the course, it is not possible to assess on which side the green must be played - a pity, a missed opportunity.
Incidentally, as on the super-fast greens, the rest of the condition is also impeccable - there is nothing to complain about.
Unfortunately, there is a slight deficiency on track 8 - you sometimes have to look for your ball for a long time, because the track is littered with range balls from the practice facility right next to the track. Annoying and not entirely safe.
However, the volume on the front nine is terribly to complain about!
The first tracks are in the immediate vicinity along the motorway. Only from lane 6 onwards do you slowly turn your back on the permanent noise, but it only gets really quiet on the back nine.
Conclusion: Only something for noise-resistant (or car-noise-loving) inventors who like to occupy themselves longer with the same course in order to conquer the sloping fairways and the treacherous greens. Not really suitable for "just going there and playing a nice round". Tip: If possible (probably not), only book the back nine! Just barely (because of the good maintenance condition) 3 stars. (In the "Golf Bear Ranking": 5 out of 10 points.)

Very nice people at the reception.
The place is very interesting and the tracks go - as usual in the area - sometimes up, sometimes down. Demanding holes alternate with "recreational holes" in a fair manner.
Highlights are the 5 (rather short par 5, dogleg left, many trees in front of the green), the 7 (par 4 steeply downhill with water to the right of the green), 14 (long uphill par 4 with a beautiful tree in the fairway) and 16 (Par 4 downhill, trees on the right that should slow down the driver).
The finish is spectacular: the 17 is a par 3 over a water hazard that is really long when there is a headwind. The 18 leads over a ditch, and depending on the length of the drive there is 200m or 80m into the green - depending on how you can shorten it.
The restaurant is good - and above all very cheap. The tapas are delicious and so is the beer. Not a culinary highlight but a really good "Keipe".
We played 3 rounds there in January 2023 and the course was in great condition!

In our opinion, the fairways suffered a bit from such a permanent influx. The fairways were partially dried up and definitely not lush green.
One of our buggies had problems with stationary braking and kept rolling forwards or backwards after stopping, so we had to change it to hole 9 on the Caddy Master. Last year one of our buggies even stayed halfway because of the empty battery.
With these new technical problems of the buggies, the condition of the fairways and the extreme waiting at almost every hole (!) We will definitely not play La Canada Golf anymore.
