Characteristics
The club is situated behind the beautiful Montorfano-Lake in the sunny Brianza in an altitude of 1.200 m, where the landscape reminds of the one in Scotland. Even in the greatest heat of August you can play here quite comfortably. The course was built in 1926 by Peter Gannon. The 18 holes cross chestnut, birch and stone pine woods. The course is considered one of the most varied, but also one of the most difficult par 69-courses in Europe.

We were very excited about this place because of the very good reviews, but we have eyes in our heads.
Let’s get to the good impressions:
very nice clubhouse, well-stocked pro shop, the staff friendly and accommodating!
That was all very good.
The course certainly deserved a top rating many years ago, because the topography and architecture of the fairways are a playful challenge - but certainly doable.
The condition of the paths, along the fairways and the greens - that no longer has much to do with maintenance.
The bunkers had neither good, clean edges nor enough sand.
The tees were simply too uneven for a “very good club”. The trash cans were still full from the weekend. The signage between the individual holes was sparse.
Since the topography is very hilly, it is highly recommended to take an electric trolley or a cart. But a cart for 60 euros?!

The wonderful golf course impresses with its great condition. The place is tricky and requires strategic skills. The traditional clubhouse, the elegant pro shop and very friendly staff complete the overall impression perfectly.
