Suprisingly nice one

Another visit in Costa del Golf this time we played 2 courses, this one was the 1st.
Arriving shortly before lunch we grab coffee in restaurant without going to driving. Driving is anyway right there next to parking if anyone wanted. Restaurant was nice, and can recommend terrace with nice view, but have to practice few puts. Greens were bit slower than is standard for this area but nothing bad.
We started round, I started very poorly, but it was my fault, not course. Anyway I like the design and layout, its up and down with many interesting shots, short par 4s where you can try to attack greens with funny par 3's as well. If I have to choose some signature hole for me, would be probably some on back nine, front nine is much easier. I would say 16th is my kind of cup of coffee. Anyway it was pretty good round, course was in great shape, definitely worth of visit. And as bonus they had the best pro-shop I have ever seen, with many discounts. Will come back for sure.

Great Value Golf

We have played this course a number of times over the past few weeks paying anything between 62 and 99 euros for two with a buggy. The course has been in great condition and is a fair challenge to golfers of any level. I can definitely recommend as one to include if you are over on the Costa del Sol for a golfing break. In the hills above the coast with some fantastic views - but only a few minutes from the motorway exit.

Exciting and spectacular

The access to Calanova Platz suggests something bad to come: lots of horrible construction sites. Once you get to the square, it's a completely different picture: you can see construction cranes here and there and hear the highway, but otherwise you're immediately captivated by this square. Extremely spectacular tracks, constantly up and down. A place where the long hitters don't get their money's worth, but the precise players do even more so. Don't worry if you lose one or two balls the first time, the second time you'll know where the traps are. After the round: Drop off the female players in Spain's largest pro shop and treat yourself to a beer with a spectacular view on the glassed-in terrace. Fair prices!

One of the best places around Marbella

Excellent condition with very fast and heavily undulated greens. Mountain goat place where the buggy is a must. A very interesting track design with many signature holes, only the 18 is a weak point despite modifications.
A really gigantic pro shop and very good gastronomy round off the perfect picture.
In terms of price, it is not cheap at around €80 per person including buggy, but in March 2023 it is in the middle range in comparison.
In a direct price-performance comparison, only Marbella Golf&Country and Santa Maria are on par.

The finest

A golf course as one could wish for.
Top in shot from AZ. great topography, it goes up and down steeply. you are technically and tactically challenged. and the 19th hole can also be recommended from a culinary point of view.
The only disadvantage: this place is hardly feasible on foot. but the GF of 76 € includes the e-cart.

Always nice again

Yesterday I was allowed to play Calanova again, as always an experience.
Price performance simply top two players with buggy 80.- that is really good for the coast. The course is in great condition, only the 18 hole is currently being rebuilt and therefore shortened.
Especially with the second 9 holes you should have a lot of balls with you or really play straight.
After the round, a visit to the restaurant is always recommended, good cuisine!

Top price performance and great service

First a praise for the starter, friendly, very good info's and attentive. Had to tee off at 10:00 clock in the sun, but the starter had the ball in view! Buggy with GPS, which was very helpful. Place and Green's in very good condition. Only lane 18 is redesigned, but has not damaged the whole. Restaurant also recommended with a nice view from the terrace. Pro Shop of the finest and over two floors, in addition came Blck Friday with prices where you can not say no. All in all a wonderful day of golf!

Golf without rest

We played the course in mid-October. He presented himself in good condition. The starter told us the first track and off we went. Mostly 4-flights, which were in an 8-minute cycle exclusively with buggies on the way. We had to pay € 150.00 for two.
The tracks are very beautiful, some spectacularly integrated into the landscape. From time to time with sea u. Highway view. Since you had to play very fast, you could hardly enjoy the beautiful impressions.
We found the very early exit from the greens to be unattractive.
Ignoring the prohibition signs, the kart (with GPS) stops driving forward. Lane 5 and 11 you were allowed to ride inclusive of the usual par 3 lanes not. Worth mentioning is still the pro shop on 2 floors with many "special offers" and very friendly staff.

Well-kept "mountain goats" place, but way too crowded

The positive anticipation: The place was very well maintained at the beginning of November, the Geens were great, the Proshop offers a lot of choice for top offer prices.
But, you feel like you are crossing an alpine (if you like it, it will be great). With golf that has - except for a few exceptions - nothing to do. Buggy is mandatory, which I personally do not like in principle, for many, however, is a plus, since buggy included. Also, the course runs right and left of a highway, you have to like synonymous.
What is absolutely impossible is the extremely high frequency. Waiting times at each hole with up to four flights on one lane or three at the tee.
No Marshal and no HDC limit. Overall, it's a shame for us to spend time and money.

FABULOUS

This is undoubtedly my favorite field, not only for its high quality maintenance, which is among the best on the Costa del Sol, the staff is super friendly, they make you feel at home and that store and restaurant that are worth visiting.

Soothing

In contrast to some very narrow golf courses in the region Calanova is very open, with great views and mostly wide fairways and quite large greens. The course offers a lot of variety and is suitable for all approved Hdc classes. The care condition in early November was commendable.
You can not get back to the clubhouse at the 9, but about halfway at a junction of several trains (watch out!) A supply kiosk with nice service.
A buggy is a must and therefore obligatory in the price. The new clubhouse incl. Proshop is also praiseworthy and the terrace with dream view rewards additionally for the round.

Sorry

I found this place last year rated very negatively. I take that back explicitly. What a transformation! They actually made in only 6 months from a meadow umgewühlten a Super Modern clubhouse with best Proshop and done before a huge driving range about 50m from Tee1 away with 8 Matt discounts and ca 60m lawn tees with spectacular views of the Mediterranean. Incomprehensible! These green fee € 70, in which case each one Buggi incl gets single player. The space is also transformed, lush green fairways, only the Grpns go even better. All together the best price / performance ratio in the area. Do not tell anyone!

Will certainly more beautiful

We played the course today. A quick call to the friendly Secretariat sufficient. 90 Eur couple tariff with buggy is extremely attractive. Search Something we had the place already because we have left on the Riviera A7 and the road is little signs behind Miraflores. We have found brand new buggies and a nice, but very hilly course. The starter was very talkative and has warned us against such difficulties. B hole 4. The course was in good condition, season caused the fairway grass is just still brown, but will be sure green in midsummer. The greens were in good shape but a little slow. The barracks as 19th hole is replaced by a new, large clubhouse. Z. z under construction and should be finished in autumn.
We will be back.

On the upswing

We played the course in August 2015 twice. I have previously read the reviews and was skeptical, not least because we know the place from previous years. Meanwhile, however, a lot has been done: The fairways were perfect. No sign of hard and dusty. The greens were good. The staff was friendly and competent. All new e-buggies. The service includes for each player a bottle of water and a couple of teas. A starter ensures politely for relaxation at the 1. Will it fully, it is also going on at the 10. We played in August for 62 euros for two with Buggy! A bit annoying the semi-rough was around the green and on the move. Was the ball because once in it, he was often lost. Who wants to play low under good conditions, is right here.

On the Brink

Dust dry meadow, the receipt of a parking lot there (installed on the charging stations for buggies in the open air) and a container that represents the clubhouse. I'm sending this in 2 weeks a photo. Desolate desert environment, garnished with investment ruins, should probably be like the surrounding hills plastered with concrete before it all went down the drain. If you feel good here is your own fault. Go somewhere else!

Hard and a little warm

Compared to our last visit in November 2013 (see below) fall on especially the new carts. The place was on this windy day a little more difficult to play than usual. The fairways are extremely short cut and very hard. This is good for a long rolls the ball, but a bit tedious for a clean punch. (Most) Greens, however, are more likely to be slow in the region. The game flow was used to slow. Maybe this is because the online booking did not appear on the entry list, but were still sent to the course. This probably led originated more traffic than originally planned. Starter and the two ladies at the desk were probably just as friendly as overwhelmed...

Gives significantly better in the region

We played this course in September 2014 and were disappointed.

We had announced in advance via email and advised of redeeming the vouchers Albrecht. This was confirmed to us also, that we do not need to bring the book. After logging in, it said that there is now a new management and the vouchers are not redeemed. Since we had driven an extra 60 KM and the holiday was coming to an end we have (unfortunately in hindsight) paid the normal price. Grace: a foreign word, even the logo ball I had to pay.

To place: great views, without Cart (which were all brand new) it is not absolute. Fairways due to the fact that the Spanish summer behind a lay okay. Driving Range a disgrace, the greens were in an unplayable condition, we almost always need to attach more and better. This was not because of the sun but from lack of care. The Bunker grow slowly but surely from the edge.

Place was packed but no Marshal which time the extremely slow players (no beginners for which you have understanding, but wirkllich selfish Spielverzögerer) continues to go a little faster.

Conclusion: For the view you no longer need not go so far and still pay for it, there are much better places in the area, we definitely here.

Played in August 2013

Our first place in our holiday and... WOW.
Extremely Hilly - chart is - you need also.
Everyone not just batted ball is gone.
View is a great. Quality was also fully OK, just not often seen in long shots where the ball comes to estate - in other words - it can happen that you get punished for a long straight shot.
But it is certainly worth a round.

Cheap, old challenge

The place itself is an exciting challenge with many varied paths. The greens are often protected on three sides by sloping, narrow ground. Without buggy it's definitely not - height differences and distances, Green -> next tee are much too large. Unfortunately, the whole system is in a rather dilapidated condition. The driving range is a disgrace. The staff is friendly, however. Green fees are low, but too many slow attracts players. A long journey hardly worth it, but who are simply looking for a pure golfing challenge, here is certainly not wrong.

Golfing in Marbella

An extraordinary place! Unfortunately, the fairways are sometimes very hard and the bunker in very poor condition. While the greens are also not in tip top shape, but they are not so bad that they make the putt to gamble.
Due to the price / performance ratio for us worth a visit. Again, very friendly staff. Food is okay. Buggy absolutely necessary.

To and fro

This place is exceptional in some way. Situated high up in the hills, not so easy to play with great views and lots of wind for players with a handicap of -25. Buggy is necessary in any case! The fairways require tactical game. Unfortunately, in the bunkers is little sand. The greens are very taken part. The price-performance ratio is very good nonetheless. We have an afternoon green fee for two people paid 70 euros (including Buggy) The staff is very friendly. We would definitely come again, despite the bunkers and greens. Without Navi is. Not easy to find place.

MAGNIFICENT WAVY DESIGN IN A FIELD

Although it is a contradiction Calanova Golf Club is the closest thing to a mountain Link, for its undulating fairways, by the different winds that affect play.
I have played this course several times, and always are looking forward to it. And the best part is the excellent relationship CALDAD / PRICE.
As I said in the title, congratulations to the designer of this field.
