Filipino Angelo Que successfully defended his title at the Mount Malarayat Championship here Saturday.
Que rolled in a pressure-packed par putt from six feet on the last hole to beat Thailand's Namchok Tantipokakul by a single stroke for his third victory on the Mercedes-Benz Tour.
The Filipino made two important birdies in the last five holes but the all-important par-saver, after a 35-yard chip, on the difficult final hole proved critical.
Que, winner of last year's Mercedes-Benz Tour Order of Merit, shot a two-under-par 70 for a 12-under-par 276 tournament total. It was his eighth win as a professional.
"I was able to check my putting stance after the 13th and when I stood over that putt on the last hole, I was pretty confident," said Que.
Richard Sinfuego, the leader after the first and third rounds settled for third place, two off the lead after a 73, along with Thai Wisut Artjanawat (67).
