Park Sang-Hyun took advantage of calm conditions to take the lead at the SK Telecom Open on Friday, a shot clear of Kurt Barnes, who equalled the course record with a second round 64.

South Korean Park, who won the title in 2009, shot six birdies and an eagle in a seven-under-par second round of 65, moving to 10 under overall at the Pinx Golf Club.

Barnes, 26, managed to equal the course record despite dropping a shot and lay in second place on nine under, while overnight leader Andre Stolz slipped back to four under.

"My swing has been feeling great all week and I am striking the ball really well," said 28-year-old Park, who finished third at the Ballantine's Championship behind world number one Lee Westwood at the end of April.

"Three-under-par in the first round was a great score considering the weather and then in the second round the weather was much clearer and I knew I would have to shoot a better score and I was able to do that.

"Since Ballantine's I have been feeling great and I also won this event in 2009 so I am very confident about this week and this event and I am looking forward to playing well over the weekend."

A shoulder injury had put Barnes in doubt for the $1 million OneAsia event, and he needed a hospital visit and intensive treatment to be ready for Wednesday's practice round.

The Australian said he was delighted to be over the injury and was now targeting victory.

"I now feel like it is time for me to go out and win. I had a great opportunity in Japan a couple of weeks ago, but I didn't get the job done on the back nine," he said.

South Korea's KJ Choi also carded a two-over-par second round to drop back to three-under-par overall.
