American Anthony Kim and Spaniard Sergio Garcia will renew their rivalry at the annual Nedbank Challenge tournament in Sun City in December.

They are among a 12-strong field named Thursday, including defending champion Trevor Immelman of South Africa, for the African 'Major' at the par-72 Gary Player Country Club course.

Rising star Kim thrashed the established Garcia 5 and 4 in the first singles on the final day at the Ryder Cup match last month and the United States went on to triumph 16.5-11.5 over Europe at Valhalla.

Garcia is the top ranked golfer in the line-up at five, followed by Kim (six) and Swedes Robert Karlsson (eight) and Henrik Stenson (10) with South African James Kingston the only contender not among the top 25 in the world.

Englishman Justin Rose gets another crack at the title after a double-bogey six on the final hole last year gifted first place to Immelman, who succeeded despite dropping shots at the last three holes.

Field for Nedbank Challenge from December 4-7 (figure indicates world ranking):

Sergio Garcia (ESP, 5), Anthony Kim (USA, 6), Robert Karlsson (SWE, 8), Henrik Stenson (SWE, 10), Lee Westwood (GBR, 12), Justin Rose (GBR, 15), KJ Choi (KOR, 16), Kenny Perry (USA, 19), Miguel Jimenez (ESP, 20), Trevor Immelman (RSA, 21), Rory Sabbatini (RSA, 24), James Kingston (RSA, 71)
