South African Tim Clark fired a six-under 64 Friday to seize a share of the lead after the second round of the 5.1 million dollar PGA Canadian Open.

American Dean Wilson shot his second consecutive five-under 65 and is tied with Clark at 10-under 130 going into Saturday's third round at the St. George's Golf and Country Club.

"Driving the fairway is a huge key on the course and I've done that," said Clark. "I certainly didn't expect to be scoring like that around this course. I felt like it was going to be pretty tough."

First round leader Brent Delahoussaye dropped into a tie for third with fellow American Steve Wheatcroft after Delahoussaye shot a one-under 69. Wheatcroft finished with a 66.

The second round was completed Friday despite a two-hour weather delay before the start of the round.

Wilson closed with a 20-foot par putt on the par-four 18th after missing the fairway.

"That was a nice way to finish off the day," said Wilson. "You can't ask for a better position."

Delahoussaye's 69 came a day after matching the Canadian Open record with a 62.

"It's tough to follow up an eight-under-par round," Delahoussaye said. "So, I figured anything under par today would be great for me. I'm pleased with the round."

Canadian favourite Mike Weir, who is battling tendinitis in his right arm, shot a disappointing 74 and missed the cut Friday.

"You can't score from the rough," Weir said.
